PLC Programmer

REQUIREMENTS:
The PLC Programmer is responsible for software development which
includes design, development, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance
and support of new and existing software applications for control
systems. Requires 40-50% travel
ENTRY DATE
ASAP – Analyze design specifications and customer requirements
– Knowledge of control system design
LOCATION – Programming, commissioning and testing of Rockwell, Siemens,
Canada - North York, Ontario and Omron PLC and HMI programs, which may include associated
manufacturing equipment such as motion control, vision, RFID,
AREA scanners/readers, measurement and instrumentation equipment
Controls Engineering – Graphical user interface development
– Integrate and test programs onsite
ORGANIZATION – On-site troubleshooting and support of existing equipment
– Writing operator and service manuals
PIA Automation Canada Inc. – Develop concepts and determine costs for proposals to customers
Adam Thompson – Prepare functional descriptions of process controls and sequence of

– Minimum 3 years of PLC and HMI programming experience
– Proven programming skills using Allen Bradley, Omron, and
Siemens PLC’s and HMI’s
– Ability to travel to local and international customer sites
– A thorough understanding of electrical control systems for
automated machinery preferably with machine builder/integrator
experience in the automotive industry
– Proven control system troubleshooting skills
– Experience with networking and communication protocols
including fieldbus networks
– Ability to use MS Office
 EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
– Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering/CET with
minimum 5 years of experience in related field
