Introduction
The goal of blood management is to ensure the safe and efficient
use of many resources involved in complex process of blood component
therapy.
Our experience with comprehensive blood management programs
has demonstrated sustainable reductions in use of blood products by
twenty percent or greater. This reduction reflects a more efficient
utilization of blood and its associated resources, along with
improvements in patient safety and quality of care.
 The Project blood bank management system is known to be a pilot
project that is designed for blood bank to gather blood from
various sources and distribute it to the needy people who have
high requirements for it.
 The Software is designed to handle daily transactions of blood
bank and search details when required.
 It also helps to register the details of donor, blood collection details
as well as blood issued reports
 The Software application is designed in such a manner that can
suit needs of all blood bank requirements in course of future.
Project Profile
Existing System
 The operatiin of blood bank still now is maintained in manual
system.
 The operation is tedious, time consuming and space consuming.
 It creates room for errors as data is entered manually by the
persons.
 It includes risk for documents being lost over years and
maintainence of records is difficult.
 The data recorded during testing or while acquiring details of
different aspects of blood bank management system is not so
accurate and precise.
 Maintaining the stock of blood and daily transaction about
Computerization also poses a challenge.
Scope Of Project
This research study covers the three (3) basic operations of blood banks, namely: donor
registration, monitoring of blood bags or products’ inventories, and monitoring of blood bags or
products’ issuance. Also, due to time-constraint, respondents will be from hospitals from North
Batinah Region in the Oman, though the research study talks about blood banks in the Sultanate
of Oman. In addition, the study considers three (3) possible users of the system, namely: hospital
administrator, doctors, and blood receptionists.
The purpose of blood bank management system is to simplify and automate process Of
searching for blood in case of emergency and maintain records of blood donors, recipients, blood
donation programs and blood stocks in bank.
Blood banking is process that takes place in lab to make sure that donated blood ,or blood
products ,are safe before they are used in blood transfusions and other medical procedures.

Proposed system:
The Proposed Blood Bank management System helps
people who are in need of blood by giving them all
details of blood group availability or regarding the
donors with same blood group
Advantages
 The people in need of blood can search for donors by
giving their blood group city name.it save time as he
can search donors online without going anywhere.
 Using this system we can get blood in time and can
Save this his relative or friend life.
 Blood donor can also get registered and save life of
Other person.
 The main benefit of this system is information about
available blood group.

F
Modules Of Proposed System
1. Manage Recipients-The admin has access to donor management. He can
update the blood, can update camp details users, and can view details of
customer who requested blood.
2. Manage Donator-The admin has access to the donator of blood. He can
update the details of donator.
3. Login and Logout-By default one of security features of this system is
secure login and logout system. The login and logout system of blood
bank management system uses a session. It means that user can only log
in at once on same browser
4. Donor Registration-For the donor registration, you will fill the
forms.such as your complete name, gender, date of birth, blood type
Phone number,email address,home address etc.
6 . Contact Information-For the contact us,you will be able to see their
Address,phone number and email addaress.
7. Blood letting Information-For about us,you will be able to see goals and
Objectives of blood bank management system.
Objectives of system
This applied research aims to design, develop and implement online blood bank
management system. This web-based application provides:
 To ensure hospital to have good supply or inventories of blood bags.
 To check the availability of blood bags anytime.
 To manage the information of its blood donor.
 Function to check if the person donate blood for the last 3 months.
 To allow good documentation about the donor and its blood donation activities.
 Support fast searching to find match blood bags for the right person.
 To develop a system that provides functions to support donors to view and manage their
Information conveniently.
 To maintain records of blood donors, blood donation information and blood stocks
in Centralized database system.
 To inform donors of their blood result after their donation.
 To support matching, searching and requesting for blood convenient for
administrators.
 To provide to function to send an email directly to donor for their user account of
Hospital,availability of blood bag.
Fact Finding Techniques
1. Interviews:
A fact-finding technique whereby the system
Analysts collect information from individuals through face
to face interaction.

 Find facts
 Verify facts
 Clarify facts
 Generate enthusiasm
 Get the end-user involved
 Identify requirements
 Solicit ideas and opinions

2.Collecting Facts by observing People at work:

Observation advantages
 Data gathered by observation can be highly reliable.
 The system analyst is able to see exactly what is being done.
 Observation is relatively inexpensive compared with other
Fact finding techniques.
 Observation allows system analyst to do work measurements
3.Developing a questionnaire
 Determing what facts and opinions must be collected and
from
 What you should get them.
 Write the questions.
 Test the Questions on a small sample of respondents.
 Duplicate and distribute the questionnaire.
