Following are the two stores (product/service) that I usually prefer. They are as follows:-
I usually Prefer ‘Daraz’ for online shopping in Nepal. Daraz was launched in 2012. It is South
Asia’s premier online shopping marketplace with an active presence in Pakistan,
Bangladesh, Sri-Lanka, Myanmar and Nepal. Daraz offers a wide assortment of products
than any other platform in Nepal. We can get access to more than 2.5 million products
through one app and get it conveniently delivered to our doorstep. The product ranges
from customer electronics to household goods, beauty, fashion, sports equipment,
groceries and so on. The e-commerce market in Nepal is still small, but growing very fast. In
India, there is stiff competition among e-commerce companies like Amazon and Flipkart.
But that is not the case in Nepal. Here, Daraz is leading the e-commerce transformation.
Daraz is constantly focusing on bringing the latest and most desired products and make
them available to the customers. For example, once a new mobile phone is launched, we
are very likely to find it on Daraz at a very good price. They also offer a returns policy of 7
days on all products on Daraz, which allows customers to return their product if it is not as it
was promised and get the full amount back into their bank account. This is something very
unique and we could not find this with any other online platform or in the shops around us.
If we bought something in premium section called Daraz Mall, we can even return our
product within 14 days. So overall there is no risk to shop on Daraz.
However, other smaller players like Sastodeal, Hamrobazar, Muncha.com, Thulo.com etc.
are also growing which eventually is good for the overall industry. I think the market should
be more competitive because competition brings improvement. Companies should try out
various models to appeal to the customers and user adoption of e-commerce, as a whole,
will improve.
I have maintained my saving bank account at Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited, which is one
of the commercial banks of Nepal. Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited was registered in 1998
as the first regional commercial bank from the western region of Nepal and started its
banking operations from Pokhara since year 1943. There are 27 commercial banks in Nepal.
Among them I personally feel the product and services offered by MBL are superior to other
banks. I usually visit the banks and I like the way the bank is delivering its services to its
customers. The bank has adopted the latest technology which is not offered by all the
banks. Following are the reasons due to which I prefer MBL over its competitors:-
It offers different types of saving accounts to its customers. Each account has its own unique
features.
The bank provides modern banking facilities such as Any Branch Banking, Internet Banking,
Mobile Banking, Safe Deposit Locker facilities, Utility Bill payment (Telephone & Mobile),
ATM (VISA Debit Cards) to its valued customers. Besides these, it also provides 365 Days
Banking and Evening Counter services to the customers through many of its offices.
It provides the facility of internet online banking. Through internet banking we can do our
online transactions, funds transfer, balance enquiry, purchase recharge cards, e-sewa.
The bank has its reach to remote hilly regions of Nepal where technology is next to
impossible. So it has a wide branch network.
It is one of the first bank to introduce GLOBUS, PSTN Network, and SWIFT (Society for
Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) system for cash transactions.
Nowadays, the bank is moving more towards digital products and services and introduced
itself as a Smart Bank which is a great advantage for the MBL customers.
The employees of the bank are usually very much polite in behavior and try their best to
help the customers.
Regular and special customers are treated very well so that they feel respected and
attached with the organization.
