INTRODUCTION

This Project consists of the creation of an application, the main objective is to teach the
English language, using pages linked to the application, for to the student can to practice,
answer questions, complete sentences, read short stories, etc.
The application will have a lot of units, with basic and intermediate content, for a well and
easy understand for those who want to learn this language, in a didactic and simple form, it
will have translated instructions, examples and exercises In addition other tems such as
colors, occupations, animals, feels, clothes, numbers, etc.
JUSTIFICATION

With the appearance of new technologies, it has come to bring efficiency to the supply and

demand of goods and services. The man is in an increasingly demanding society in the

development of different areas such as work, economic, educational, social, family and

others, for this reason time, making quick, correct decisions, is constituted in a few of the

factors most appreciated by the human being.

Today the Internet offers various applications, however these applications are for a specific

population, expensive, difficult to download and generate problems for the consumer

Start Up wants to solve these problems and others that arise at the time of downloading for

users and improve their learning according to the level of English that the client has, with a

low cost for the general population.


GENERAL OBJETIVE

The general objective of this project is to develop an application for mobile devices that

supports the learning of the English language for students or anyone who wants to learn

English, also save the costs and time of learning this language.

SPECIFIC OBJETIVE

The specific objectives to achieve the general objective are:

 Facilitate the acquisition of grammar and vocabulary in English.

 Motivate and instill to learn a new one in a simple and funny way.

 Reduce the cost of learning a new language.

 Collaborate in teaching the English language in a dynamic way.

 Help those who don’t have a lot of time to learn a new language.

 Design an application that anyone can use it and learn in a self-taught way with

easy to understand theory,

 Facilitate the teaching of the English language in a dynamic and efficient way
THEORRETICAL FRAMEWORK

A long time ago, it was impossible to consider the possibility of learning English at home.

This was the time of traditional language schools and in-company courses.

In the last years the use of smartphone, iphone and tabs had influenced deeply in our

society, actually it is not only as a element of communication, so that it has more

importance every day like a tool of information and productivity in different aspects like

social, labour, academic, and others.

Today, with the arrival of apps and their constant evolution, learning English isn’t limited

to the classroom. Almost anyone can study a language from the comfort of their home or

from whatever place they prefer.

With an app you can do your weekly shopping, tune your ukelele, book a room on the other

side of the world, and even purchase the flight to take you there, all from the comfort of

your armchair. Apps even allow you to start learning a new language with a simple tap of a

button.

How effective are language learning apps?

Now more than ever, people who want to learn a new language turn to their mobile devices

for help as language learning applications have become increasingly available. While these

apps allow users to study a new language from anywhere at any time, how effective are

they?

In the study, which is published in Foreign Language Annals, 85 undergraduate students at

MSU used Ban application for 12 weeks to learn Spanish. At the beginning of the study, the
students took a pre-test to assess their existing oral proficiency, vocabulary and grammar in

Spanish. After 12 weeks, the 54 students who completed all study requirements took the

same test again to see how much knowledge they had gained.

The study showed that nearly all students who completed the requirements improved in

their Spanish language knowledge and/or ability to communicate after 12 weeks of that

application.

"On the whole, learners in this study increased their oral proficiency, as measured by an

improvement on a well-established and valid speaking test, the Oral Proficiency Interview,"

Loewen said. "These results establish that using Babbel can facilitate the development of

oral communication skills and not just grammar and vocabulary acquisition, as a previous

study had demonstrated."

So there are a number of benefits to using English learning apps to improve language

learning skills.

START UP
The application (START-UP) is an application to learn English with grammar, vocabulary,

and it has alot of exercises, short histories, and some activities to enjoy learning the

language . Our application (START-UP) will be very important for the development and

future of our society. One of the purposes is that the students themselves have a great

interest in this language and the comfort they want or demand, since we enter a

technological era with many innovations, what we expect from ( START -UP) is that with a

vision of the future. Our application will also be very dynamic for more understanding for

example. We plan to implement images and graphics at each level and to each topic.
Learn English Through Pictures

A picture paints a thousand words, it's true, and pictures are a great way of improving

English, especially if we are a visual learner. So, use pictures to learn vocabulary and

grammar. Don't just look at pictures, think about them. Discuss them. See if you can

describe what's happening in them, and name everything in them.

Importance of listening to learn English

Listening is vital in the language classroom because it provides input for the learner.

Without understanding input at the right level, any learning simply cannot begin. they hear

is an impetus, not an obstacle, to interaction and learning.

ABOUT (START-UP)

Our application has six parts

ENGLISH LEVEL TEST

In the first, the application has an English level test with two options, with this part the

people will know his level of English

There are 30 questions in which we will evaluate your level of grammatical agility, your

vocabulary, and your listening comprehension. The result of this test is indicative, but it

will help you to know your approximate level.


GRAMMAR

The idea of this section is to bring YouTube videos to a more educational environment and

without so many distractions where you can also leave your questions, which will serve to

add explanations to the videos, and interactive activities related to the lessons.

In this way, your doubts and questions can be useful to complement the videos and help to

better understand their contentS

This section has six parts which are: Codai, British council, English, English course, and

grammar with videos.

VOCABULARY

Learning English vocabulary is a fundamental step to improve your English. The best

option is to learn and practice 10-15 words every day. In these lessons, you will find the

opportunity to expand your vocabulary in English. In each lesson you will find

pronunciation and a comprehension exercise.

Our application has a lot of pictures for learning vocabulary for example the verbs, family,

parts of the body, people, animals, activities, home, the world, numbers, the time, and

others.

In our aplicación this information is organized in four parts: flashcards, easy English, most

used words, expressions


EXERCISES

The grammar exercises will help you consolidate your knowledge of the English language.

When you are doing the exercises, you will have the opportunity to go to the lessons where

the grammar topics are explained. This, without a doubt, will help you understand your

successes and correct your mistakes. In this way, your knowledge of the internal rules of

the English language will be quite deep.

In this section, you will find exercises on various grammar topics in English at elementary,

beginner, basic, intermediate, and advanced levels.

This section is divided into two: English exercises and Grammar exercises.

SHORT STORIES

We considered that it's important to understand new words for the context in a story. For

this reason, our application is dedicated to this with tree short stories

Listening
The goal of the following listening exercises is that you can improve and practice your

English listening comprehension skills. These activities are divided into several groups:

Beginner (Level A1), Basic (Level A2) and Intermediate (Level B1).

RESULTS

With a series of questions to some teachers who dictate or teach this language, we were

able to obtin the approval of many teachers to implement this application in schools,

institutes, or universities; since they told us that it would be of great help both in teaching

teachers and in student learning.
