Course Description
This course is designed for students to appreciate the principles of promotion and maintenance of health.
Objectives
At the end of the course the students will be able to:
1. describe concept and dimensions of health.

3. describe concept, scope, uses, methods and approaches of epidemiology.
4. describe epidemiology and nursing management of common communicable and non-
communicable diseases.
5. describe concepts and scope of demography.
6. describe the methods of data collection, analysis and interpretation of demographic data.
7. identify the impact of population explosion in India.
8. describe the methods of population control.
