    An experiment was conducted to test the significance of sunlight on plant growth by placing two identical green onions in separate containers, with one exposed to sunlight and the other placed under the shade of a tree. After two weeks, the exposed green onion appeared less healthy with a thin stem and light green color, while the shaded onion looked greener and had a healthier stem. However, heavy rain caused the exposed onion to fall off. The experiment was repeated with the exposed onion placed under shade at night to protect it from rain.
