PART 1. EVALUATE / TEST ASSESSMENT

A. What is the purpose of six step trouble shooting procedure?

Troubleshooting is a form of problem solving, often applied to repair failed products

or processes on a machine or a system. Troubleshooting is needed to identify the symptoms.
Determining the most likely cause is a process of elimination—eliminating potential causes of
a problem

B. What is the importance of localizing fault function and localizing trouble shooting of circuit?

Fault localization is a basic component in fault management systems; because it identifies the
reason for the fault that can best explain the observed network disorders. Fault localization is
necessary to determine the location of the defect.

In most cases, the location of the defect is necessary to determine the root cause of failure. It is
worth noting, however, that fault localization may not be necessary to give a satisfactory response to
the requester

C. What are excitation methods, AVR and auto synchronizing equipment?

 Excitation systems can be defined as the system that provides field current to the rotor winding of
a generator. Well-designed excitation systems provide reliability of operation, stability and fast
transient response.
 An automatic voltage regulator (AVR) is a solid state electronic device for automatically
maintaining generator output terminal voltage at a set value. It will try and do this as the generator
load or operating temperature changes. The AVR is part of the alternators excitation system.
 Auto synchronizing equipment is the second part of moving data between two systems.

D. What is the importance manual load sharing and modern load sharing equipment?

 Load sharing is essential to avoid overloading and stability problems on the systems' generator sets.

 Power management systems using modern devices. Our project aims to control and sharing the load
automatically using micro controller.

PART 2. EXTEND

A. What is the importance of six step of trouble shooting?

Troubleshooting is needed to identify the symptoms. Determining the most likely cause is a
process of elimination eliminating potential causes of a problem.

B. Which is you prepare manual load sharing and modern load sharing of equipment. Why?

I think the modern method is more relevant it can discriminates more closely between real and
power control connections, the Load Sharing Module can cabinet with other dedicated control
equipment .

C. What is alternator excitation?

The excitation system on an AC alternator refers to the way the alternators voltage is initially built
when rotated and controlled while in use. The excitation system is responsible for supplying the field
current to the main rotor.
