MODULE 2: PHYSICAL SCIENCE

WHAT I KNOW (PRE-TEST)

1. FALSE
2. FALSE
3. TRUE
4. TRUE
5. TRUE

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED (EVALUATION)

a. 23994Pu + 42He  24296Cm + 10n

b. 25399 En + 42He  256101Mv + 10n
c. 20983Bi + 5826Fe  266109Mt + 10n

WHAT I’M GOING TO EXPLORE (ASSIGNMENT)

1. I believe both of them deserved any recognition for their contributions in Science.
Because before Mendeleev, there were many attempts for the formation of Periodic
Table, like Lothar Meyer. Everybody has significant contributions in any development in
Science.
2. The chemical and physical properties of an atom are solely determined by the number of
its electrons and hence by its nuclear charge: the nuclear charge is a unique
"fingerprint" of an element and Z labels the chemical elements uniquely.
3. Alchemy are usually wrong in principle and are always messing with their discovery for
new elements. The synthesis of new elements works by adding protons to the nucleus
of an existing element, thereby increasing the atomic number of the element. If there
were any relative similarities, it is because both are working to explore and discover
beyond the boundaries of science.
