Activity
1. Differentiate genes from chromosomes?
Note: Refer to your Science Ibook page 14-16 for further explanation of the topic.
ACTIVITY # 2.A
Learning Target: Discuss the genetic in formation organized in genes and chromosomes.
Differentiate a gene from a chromose
Direction: Analyze the different diagrams and answer the following questions:
e. What name is to a section of DNA that carries instruction for making protein?
Heredity is the passing of traits from parents to offspring. Mendel’s classic genetic
experiments involved the interpretation of crossing the garden pea plants having pairs of
contrasting traits. Multiple alleles are traits that have three or more alleles. A polygenic
inheritance is a trait affected by many genes in which each individual gene makes a small
contribution to the organism’s phenotype. The environment interacts with an organism’s
genotype to produce its phenotype.
Activity
Note: Refer to your Science Ibook page 18-21 for further explanation of the topic.
Learning Target: Identify the common genetic traits inherited from the parents.
Procedure:
1. Did you observe some common characteristics among the family? Enumerate all your
observations.
2. Are there any unique characteristic you observe among the children? Explain.
