Attitude of Grade 12 SHS Academic Tracks Students Towards Speaking in English

English, being the world's language, has undeniably elevated its status in global communication
by focusing on both oral and written skills. Speaking in English, however, appears to be more
popular in the Philippines, according to the researcher.be quite difficult, particularly for kids in high
school.Senior high school students are expected to have improved English language skills,
particularly in terms of oral communication. However, as an ESL instructor who enforces the
"Speak in English" guideline in the classroom, I've noticed that most students struggle to follow the
rule, therefore the researcher is tasked with determining the students' attitudes regarding speaking
in English.
This study investigates the concept of attitude as one of the most important emotional aspects for
students' performance in speaking English. It studies senior high school students' attitudes toward
speaking English in English, taking into account profile characteristics like as gender and strand.

PROCEDURE TO IMPROVING THE STUDENTS SUCCESS IN SPEAKING IN ENGLISH

1. Improve your English pronunciation to gain confidence when giving presentations or asking
questions in seminars.
2. Continue to brush up on your grammar and vocabulary. This will aid in the formation of well-
formed sentences and the development of your English confidence.
3. Students at the university level must pay attention in class and participate in seminar
discussions. Practice listening for a speaker's major arguments, viewpoints, and attitudes.
4. Make errors and learn from them. Don't be scared. When people hear you make a mistake, they
can only correct you.
5. Ensure that you are surrounded by English-speaking people. Place yourself in a setting where
everyone speaks English and you can learn passively. Speaking is the most efficient method to
learn.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

HUMSS STUDENTS. English is the most widely spoken and used language on the planet. At least
one out of every five people can communicate in English. Learning English will boost your career
prospects, your ability to participate in discussions, and your networking abilities. You can improve
your educational possibilities by learning English.

FUTURE RESEARCHERS. Knowing English improves your chances of landing a decent job in a
multinational organization in your native country or in another one. Learning English is crucial for
socializing, leisure, and employment because it is the language of international communication,
the media, and the internet.
