Four groups presented their case studies on the second day of the presentation.

The first group concluded

by summarizing the effects of ginger supplementation on inflammatory and oxidative stress biomarkers in
adults; it concluded that ginger proves to be effective while being cheap. The second group discussed
how sleep, stress, and metabolism interact; its conclusion was that all three are clearly correlated with
each other, and that it may show underlying diseases about a person. A study on the effect of music on a
person’s concentration while studying or reading was presented by the third group, and the conclusion
came to be that music had a varying impact on different human minds as it poses as a potential tool for
therapy and for enhancing education in children. The fourth group spoke about the impact of LCA (Life
Cycle Assessment) and LCC (Life Cycle Costing) on the drainage system in cities; it concludes that the
environmental impacts of urban drainage systems requiring large amounts of virgin aggregates and
construction blocks were greater than those requiring only a limited amount of construction material. I
have learned many things from these presentations, and not only has it piqued my interest, but I also
believe it will be useful in the future.

Each group used different methods to get their conclusion. The first group used different studies to get the
conclusion. Moreover, statistical analysis was used by the researchers to obtain the answer. The second
group recorded the effects of different sleep patterns, finding the relationship between the person’s
metabolism, their sleep and their metabolism. Recent studies suggested that the said three variables have a
clear relationship with each other. The third group utilized MRI and CT Scans prior, during and after
reading to provide accurate results. The fourth group assesses the environmental impacts of ten different,
yet common drainage systems, taking account the different factors. Through knowing what methods they
used, we can apply the same techniques into future research, which is why it is important to take note of
these procedures .

Today’s science can be aided by these insightful studies, especially in the present-day era where we keep
evolving towards the future. An example would be the study about the LCA and LCC of drainage systems
in cities, where it can help waste management, or the science behind ginger’s effectivity on adults which
can be a scientific breakthrough in modern medicine. It made me realize that there are still many
problems left unsolved in our society, but with each research, we can make a solution for it. It gives
inspiration to those who would like to explore a new field of science or make a solution for unsolved
problems -- more so to the younger generation. After today, I learned many things. It did not only teach
me to strive for science, but it also taught me how to understand and how to present your own study.
Everything needs trial-and-error, and I’m glad to have learned that with how much effort you put into
something you will reap what you sow. This is the most important lesson I have learned throughout all the
science journal presentations.
