The bird who cannot fly

1st page
Upper. In the middle of the farm, there lies a gigantic tree where families of birds reside.
(a big tree tas pedeng may barn sa likod para mukang farm)
Lower. One day, a tiny bird named Daffy reached a certain age where he is expected to
be capable of flying already. He tested his capacity to fly in secret but he discovered
that he cannot fly.
(bird na nakaspread feather tas nakatingin sya sa pakpak na sad or parang may
something wrong)
2nd page
Upper. Because of his fear that his family will get disappointed, he went away from
them and decided to ask other animals on the farm to adapt him to their family.
(bird na pedeng may hawak na gamit)
Lower. He went on the north side of the farm and saw ducks near the pond. Daffy
asked them, "Can I join your family?". The ducks told him that he should show first that
he is capable of floating above the water. Daffy tried but he almost drowned and the
ducks laughed at him.

3rd page
Upper. Daffy went away and found a flock of sheep and asked them, “Can I be a part of
your family?”. The flock of sheep laughed and said, “How can you be part of our family
when you are so small.” Daffy was hurt and turned away from them.

Lower. Then, Daffy saw a peacock and asked if he could be part of his family. The
peacock said, “Can you spread your wings and show me your beautiful feathers first?”
Daffy spread his wings but the peacock only laughed at him because of his plain-looking
feathers.

4th page
Upper. Daffy was sadly walking when he saw his parents who were looking for him. His
parents said, “Where have you been Daffy? We were looking for you all over the farm.”

Lower. Daffy said, “I am at the right age already but cannot fly, I do not want to
embarrass you so I just went away.” Daffy turned around because he does not want to
see his parents laughing at him.

5th page
Upper. To his surprise, he did not hear any laugh instead, his parents brought him to a
high place and taught him how to fly until he was able to spread his wings and fly
together with his parents.

Lower. Lesson: Others may reject you but your family will accept you for who you are
and will help to make you better.
