TYPOLOGY
1. AUTHORITARIAN -Press can’t manipulate or
indoctrinate the people to be
against in the government.
-Authoritarians are necessary
to control the media to protect
and prevent the people from
the national threats through
any form of communication
2. LIBETARIAN - The people have the
freedom to exercise freedom
of speech and freedom on
gathering information.
- The information is not
limited and all of the people
can access the information
they want to know or study.
3. SOCIAL - The press is not biased
RESPONSIBILITY because in this theory the
media are not the only one
WEAKNESS
- the people have no rights
to be dependent and perform
freedom of expression
- The information can be
limited or be manipulated by
the authority for them to
secure their power or
integrity.
- There will be a possibility of
fake information coming from
different source.

on the government specially
when they are against to a
specific person and try to
indoctrinate and brainwash
the people.

2.    What makes development communication a unique theory, and adaptive to the

Philippine setting?  (10 pts)

The development communication makes a unique a theory because this theory aims for social
development and fight against propaganda. The communications nowadays are used for trolling
and destroying different parties but this theory are not over for manipulation but for encouraging
genuine response from the people. Here in our country we must adapt this kind of theory and
use for disseminating relevant and credible information for the development of the social
relationship of the people to the society. Having right judgment and critical consciousness from
this theory we can achieve social change.
