NARRATIVE REPORT: WEEK 1-WEEK 10

(JULY 19- SEPTEMBER 24,2021)

Day 1

Monday | July 19
The Orientation

I woke up early to prepare for the day. We were invited by our supervisor Mr. Gabriel
Cardinoza to join and observed the regular 7:30 AM flag-raising ceremony held at the
Dagupan City museum. This day served as our first day and orientation. We arrived at the
plaza at around 7:05 AM and waited for our supervisor to come. Mr. Cardinoza greeted
us with his warmest smile and guided us inside the City Museum. He encourages us to
observe and record everything. I took my camera and my phone to record and capture
what was happening. During the event, I was able to pitch a question for Mayor Brian
Lim about his opinion on non-face-to-face classes while being in an "ambush" interview
with some media people present during the event and after the photo-op and introduction
with the teammates.
After the activity at the City Museum, we had a short talk with Mr. Cardinoza instruct
and acquaint us with our tasks and duties, hear our opinion and expectations for the
internship and discuss with us some possible output that we need to comply with
throughout the training. Afterward, he asked us to write a news article about the things
that happened during the flag-raising event.
Later that day, Mr. Cardinoza requested us to create an FB page to post all our output and
write-ups. Indeed, this first day was full of learning and new experiences.
Day 2

Tuesday | July 20
The City Pulse

The day when we created and published our approved FB page named "City Pulse." We
started by creating the logo and description of the FB page. I worked with Rc, one of the
co-intern searched, and sent all templates that we could use and choose from for the logo
design. I also requested Jeanie, a co-intern, to help me draft the FB page description.
Later that afternoon, I submitted the written news article assigned to me via our group
chat messenger for Sir Cardinoza's approval before posting on our FB page. Eventually,
Mykhael Tyrone, also one co-intern, includes me as the page's admins and helped him
start monitoring day-to-day activity.

Day 3

Wednesday| July 21
Infographics

Approved by our supervisor, The FB Page Logos, descriptions were all posted together
with my first written and submitted news article is allowed to publish on our page. That
day Sir Cardinoza requested us to create more videos, infographics, news articles for our
FB page postings. My team and I had our online brainstorming for the content of our
infographics while monitoring newsworthy articles and events to be shared on our FB
page. Additionally, while in a queue and conceptualizing, I drafted our first content for
the trivia day series scheduled every Friday of the week.

Day 4

Thursday| July 22
The First Published Infographic
Thursday is not so immersing for us. We are all just waiting for Mr. Cardinoza's approval
of the infographics sent and created; however, I am also monitoring the newsworthy
articles to get some inspiration for our FB content. On the afternoon of that day, we
publish our first FB infographics approved on "how to prevent COVID 19" and the
"CDRRMO Hotline Numbers," which the latter I wrote and edited. Later in the day, our
supervisor, Mr. Cardinoza, send us a message requesting us to cover the event for Friday
for DICT Secretary Gringo Honasan at the City Library. The announcement made me
excited as I think it will be a good opportunity for me to observe and be a part of such an
event.
Day 5

Wednesday| July 21
Canceled Coverage
It is raining cats and dogs Friday! I woke up at around 5:30 AM and published news
heading about the weather situation at around 6:00 AM, courtesy of the weather update
from PAGASA. All of us are queuing for the advisory from the transmission while
updating the FB page. At around 11:00 AM still raining so terribly. I am already
preparing for the 1:30 PM coverage at City Library for DICT Secretary at around noon.
Dressed up and ready to go while waiting for my co-intern Alain to arrive, when we
received a message from our supervisor informing us that he no longer requires us to do
the coverage for our safety as the rain never stopped was flooded. Saddened by the
sudden change but still appreciated our supervisor's gesture and concern towards us.
I managed the rest of the day by monitoring the weather, posting updates about the flood.
I am also able to share the published article about the effectiveness of the vaccine Pfizer
and the Astrazeneca published that day at New England Journal of Medicine and asked
Rc to design an infographic for us to use for a shared post on the said study. We also
published on our FB page the first drafted trivia content I created for the first week of "It
is trivia day" scheduled every Friday.

Day 6-7
Saturday | Sunday
July 24 | July 25
Monitoring

We are still monitoring and sharing updates about the City’s weather and flood situations
during these days. On Sunday morning, I woke up at 5:00 AM and immediately browse
some news, and eventually, was able to draft news headings about the Earthquake that
happened in Batangas.

Day 8

Monday| July 26
Planning
Jumpstart the week early to prepare for an orientation scheduled by our internship adviser
Dr. Annabelle T. Sim. During the meeting, she discussed the requirements, grading
system and entertained questions and concerns regarding what we need to comply with
throughout the internship. After the orientation, we had a zoom meeting with my team to
discuss the plan and ideas for a week's activity and the proposal event for the next
succeeding months. We sent for Mr. Cardinoza's approval. That time, I asked Mr.
Cardinoza about the task he wanted us to do, with where he answered, he is thinking of a
"video docu" and requested us to propose a concept for him to choose from for it will
serve as our final output for the internship.
After the approval of the proposed activities, Consecutively, I have to continue to
monitor and update our FB page while conceptualizing the possible Idea for our
documentary movie.

Day 9

Tuesday| July 27
100 Followers
Finally, the sun rises. To start the day, I continue to monitor and manage updates on our
FB page. I started the early posting about the weather condition and shared relevant
information published by the Public of Information Office-Dagupan main Facebook
page. Later that day, I edited the Pubmat as a countdown on the voter's registration
campaign and posted it on our FB page. I finished my duty for the day by recording a
voice-over I wrote for our infomercial about the storm preparedness campaign. The day
was full of positivity as our FB page, City Pulse, reached 100 followers! Hooray!

Day 10

Wednesday| July 28
Voice-Over
Wednesday is that day in the middle of the working week that we need to struggle to
love, indeed! This day was a long day as we had such an unproductive day, perhaps
because we had already prepared and finished all the content and the tasks we needed to
publish for the day. Nevertheless, I still performed essential tasks like updating and
monitoring relevant and newsworthy news articles that we can share on the City Pulse FB
page while conceptualizing possible genres and concepts for our video documentary. I
also shared a webinar organized by PDRRMO, which Ms. Sheina Mislang co-hosted. It is
about National Resiliency month that tackles the Filipino attitude and resiliency in times
of adversity. Later that afternoon, we had published the infomercial about storm
preparedness awareness that I had written and done a voice-over.
Day 11

Thursday| July 29
Immersed
An immersing Thursday! I had started a day by publishing an update on the Agno River
hydrological to alert the public on the possibility of raising the water level. Immediately
after, I wrote a piece of news heading about the rainfall alert warning released by DOST-
PAGASA for the entire North Luzon and tasked RC to help create an Infographic about
the news heading. Consecutively, I browsed the FB page of Pangasinan Information
Agency and looked for any relevant news article that we can share. I drafted another
news heading on "Covid 19 cases status" while regularly monitoring City Pulse and the
PIO-Dagupan FB page. Later on the afternoon, I layout and constructed the pub mat that
we will be using for the Department of Information and Communications Technology "
Free Wifi" news broadcast.

Day 12

Friday| July 30
T.G.I.F

Thank God it is Friday! I woke up at around 6:30 AM to monitor the weather update as
the rain never stops and immediately browsed the FB page of DOST- PAGASA for any
update that we can share. Eventually, I constructed news heading for the New Delta
Variant infographic that Alain Paolo had prepared. While browsing the internet, I chance
on a news article about an athlete that qualifies in Tokyo Paralympics 2020 in August. An
idea suddenly appeared to me to feature her on our planned segment "City Talks,"
interview her via zoom, and aired live thru FB. I immediately bought up the topic to the
team and informed Sir Cardinoza about the Idea, where he approved promptly. The goal
of the interview is to cheer her on the forthcoming event competition and let the people
witness her strength. No matter her disability, she can still bring pride to the country; we
will also feature her as our entry for the National Heroes month celebration. Later that
afternoon, I was able to contact her and invite her for the said interview. We asked Sir
Cardinoza for a weekend meeting. We requested him to give us some knowledge and tips
on how to be a better people servant, where he accepted promptly and reminded us to
send him the zoom link. The day didn't end just that; I had again constructed news
heading on Proper Nutrition and healthy nutrition that could fight the Delta Variant of
Covid- 19 Virus. We can also publish our second Trivia Day for the "It is Trivia Day"
Friday portion wherein I had also created—a week ended for us to put everything on the
table before the awaited day came.

Day 15

Monday | August 2
A New Month

A new month, a new day, another great start to strive to be better and build up experience
and knowledge. Every first and third Monday of the month, we, the interns, are requested
by our supervisor to attend the regular 7:30 AM flag-raising ceremony in the City
Museum. I woke up at around 6:00 AM and immediately browsed in some weather
updates from the Facebook page of DOST-PAGASA for weeks; I had been accustomed
to doing this routine early morning before I started preparing for the rest of the day.
Immediately after sharing updates about the weather and some flood warnings, I took a
bath and geared up to leave. We arrived at the City Museum at exactly 7:25 AM, where
we meet Mr. Cardinoza waiting for the City Mayor; upon seeing us, he greeted us and
ordered us to get in for at any moment the City Mayor will be arriving. The flag-raising
event lasted only less than thirty minutes as the local government offices have no special
announcement. The City Mayor's inspiration and challenge for everyone for the week
quoted, " If we define greatness as doing every small thing well, then for this week I
challenge all of you to be great.” Do not miss an opportunity to be great."- Mayor Brian
Lim.
Consecutively after the flag-raising ceremony, we headed for a short talk and instruction
from Mr. Cardinoza for the week's plan. Then he leads us to cover an event happening at
the City Plaza organized by DSWD- Region 1. Together with my co-interns, we had a
chance to pitch a question for the focal person of DSWD- Regional Maam Alma
Gonzales.
In the afternoon of the day, we conducted a zoom- meeting to outline the week plan and
prepared the report for Mr. Cardinoza's approval. I continued the day's remaining hours
by editing a poster for the Buwan ng Wika and the upcoming National Heroes Day while
continuously monitoring the FB for updates.

Day 16

Tuesday | August 3
Build your network
Accustomed to the routine, I started my day at 6:00 AM to monitor weather updates
issued by DOST- PAGASA or from the CDRRMC FB page; I could draft news heading
published and shared on our official FB page. To begin with the task, I recorded a voice-
over and later submitted it to our supervisor, Mr. Cardinoza. This infomercial is about the
misinformation on the COVID-19 Vaccine; our supervisor has requested it and will be
used and aired via radio. Upon received and listened to the recorded two (2) thirty
seconds infomercial, Mr. Cardinoza approves it.
Later in the afternoon, we had requested and arranged a zoom meeting with Mr.
Cardinoza, where we presented our ideas about our weekly plan and the airing of the
upcoming segment " City Talks.". During the meeting, Mr. Cardinoza shared his
experiences and some insights that we can use as we journey as media practitioners. He
talked about how media people developed and discovered ways to speed accumulating
news and information these years. "Build your network" - the message that marked in me.
He shared that having a connection with "a network of people" could help our work more
manageable, especially in this field—furthermore, Mr. Cardinoza shared his inputs on
making this internship more meaningful. He advised us also to broaden the reach of our
Facebook page to maximize its efficacy. I certainly learned a lot from the Zoom meeting
with our supervisor and am looking forward to more discussions.

Day 17

Wednesday| August 4
Planning Day 1

I woke up at 6:00 AM to continuously monitor the weather updates due to persistent

weather conditions. I shared the DOST- PAGASA regular weather live report and drafted
news heading about the Northern Luzon local weather forecast valid from 5:00 AM to
5:00 PM of this day. As we planned, Wednesday is for day 1 of our arrangement for the
upcoming segment and first episode of the "City Talk." As per tasked assigned to me, I
contacted Ma'am Achelle Guion to give her an update about the interview where she
requested to change the time; I consulted the team and agreed to the time asked.
Immediately after, we conducted a zoom meeting to draft the program flow and organize
the host's guiding questions, which lasted two hours and a half. We all decided that the
hosts would be our co-interns, Alain Paolo Zarate and Mykhael Tyrone Ceralde.
After finalizing the question, I sent it to Ma'am Achelle for us to get her insights and
approval. I spent the remaining hours continuously monitoring the FB page and
responding to the applicants sending resumes to the page as we posted Nursing vacancy
positions for the City Health office.
Day 18

Thursday| August 5
Planning Day 2

I started a day again by drafting news heading and shared information about the Northern
Luzon weather forecast issued 5:00 AM by DOST- PAGASA. While having a cup of
coffee, I created a group chat (GC), including all the interns and Ma'am Achelle Guion. I
introduced the group to Ma'am Achelle and asked her for changes she wanted to make for
the questions I sent a day ahead.
Afterward, while waiting for the layout design and the video teaser, I continuously
responded to the applicant and felt exceptional for the response from the posted nursing
vacancy. It was an incredible feeling as we, the intern, could reply to the actual
applicants' applications and queries. Subsequently responding to the applicants, I layout
and published the poster (pub mat ) for the two athletes in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic, the
bronze medalist Eumir Marcial and the gold qualifier to compete on Saturday, August 7,
Carlo Paalam. Finally, we managed the rest of the day finalizing the layout for the poster
and the clips we needed for the video teaser.

Day 19

Friday| August 6
Dry Run
It is raining cats and dogs Friday! I woke up at around 5:30 AM. As a routine, I gathered
updated about the persistent weather condition; this time, I checked some relevant
updates on the COVID-19 virus and the ongoing vaccination nationwide and visited some
websites and pages for the facts.
Today we scheduled to conduct a dry-run for our upcoming interview and our first
episode for the segment City Talks. While waiting for the expected dry-run, I prepared all
the guiding questions, finalized the flow, and submitted it in our group chat for our
supervisor’s checking and approval. Mr. Cardinoza immediately sent some corrections
and recommendations to make the program flow better and give us some of his opinions.
Afterward, while waiting for the dry-run, I worked on a poster in preparation for the
possibility of winning the gold medal of Carlo Paalam for the Tokyo Olympic 2020
Boxing Men's flyweight category. I made two layouts, one for as a silver finisher and one
hopefully as a gold finisher.
At 12:25 PM, while waiting for the rest to be available, my fellow intern RC and I
worked on the video teaser idea and its theme, and both decided to come up with three
video clips. At Exactly 1:00 PM, the dry-run started, and we had run series of trials to
finalize everything in preparedness for the upcoming first episode and live interview with
one of the Paralympic qualifiers, Ms. Achelle Guion. Eventually, after the dry-run, we
proceed on the remaining tasks assigned to everyone. I reminded my co-intern Jeanie and
Mykael of the time for publishing the remaining pub mat. We published the pub mat
about the upcoming event that immediately reached more than 1000 people in just an
hour. This week-3 did not end just yet; we have plenty of preparation and works that we
needed to accomplish before a new week starts. I am confident that the remaining 280
hours of the internship would be more challenging because we just started to roll up.

Day 20

Saturday| August 7
Preparation
This day was assigned to prepare all the materials we need to accomplish by Monday,
and we all decided to have this day a rest day for all of us and resume to work by Sunday,
August 8, 2021.

Day 21

Sunday | August 8
Preparation

Today is the scheduled zoom interview for Miss Achelle Guion, a Paralympian who
qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic. I woke up at around 6:00 AM to check for the
latest PAGASA update about the weather condition and some relevant news that I could
share on the FB page. Afterward, I had our breakfast ready and prepared to take a shower
before the scheduled 9:00 AM interview. At around 8:25 AM, I, together with my co-
interns, got in the zoom and did last-minute reminders and revisions. I sent the zoom link
to Ms. Achelle, and she was able to join the meeting on time. I also sent the meeting link
into our group chat to notify sir Cardinoza that the interview had started.

The interview went well, and I felt amazed by the dedication and passion of Ms. Achelle
that despite her disability, she was able to conquer the world of sports. We learned and
got inspired by her stories; these gave us the confidence that her story is worthy of being
shared with the public. Immediately after the interview, I forwarded some photos and
informed Sir Cardinoza that our discussion went well. Later on this day, I worked with
my co-intern Rc finalizing the teaser video. I requested permission from sir Cardinoza to
use the logo of the City and the logo of the Public Information office that we used for the
teaser video posted on the same day. Consecutively, I am monitoring another co-intern,
Alain, to cut and edit the interview portions needed for the Live broadcast the next day.
This day ended, and all of us are occupied with editing, sharing, revising, and finalizing
the final output for the pilot episode of the City Talks and monitoring our FB page. I was
just very blessed to be a part of this team; We are comfortable working with each other;
For us, the essence of a team is to treat each other like family.

Day 22

Monday | August 9
Pilot Episode

Monday is the continuation of our week four (4). Today's scheduled activities were all
outlined and set. The first thing I did in the morning is to check some relevant weather,
Covid-19 updates that I can share on our FB page. Consecutively I also reviewed the un-
final video edit of the interview from the drive sent by my co-intern RC. Upon review, I
specified some minor corrections and alterations and instructed my co-intern, Mykhael
Tyrone, to improve as he is in -charge of the final editing. Immediately after the last edit,
I sent the video to sir Cardinoza for his approval. At around 1:00 PM, we had our final
dry-run for the afternoon live FB feed. Mykhael Tyrone created a page wherein we could
run the segment, and took us two runs to finally be able to confidently decided that
everything's settle for the live broadcast. 4:30 PM, we had our pilot episode of the City
Talks broadcasted live via FB feed. The day ended with a complim
ent amongst the team job well done.

Day 23

Tuesday| August 10
FAQs

As customary, I started the day with a cup of coffee at 6:00 AM, preparing breakfast and
browsing news updates that I can share on the FB page. This Pandemic limits us for the
things that we can do as an intern. On the other hand, knowing our responsibility, I am
confident that we can maximize our potential to make this internship productive and
meaningful. Together with my co-intern, we had conducted our weekly zoom meeting to
discuss our weekly plan and afterward reported the ideas to Mr. Cardinoza. I drafted
FAQs on vaccination programs of the City but; have been temporarily not allowed for
posting as per the order of our supervisor. The City's supply of vaccines is not enough;
thus, the office is getting bombarded by many complaints, and Mr. Cardinoza does not
want us and the page to encounter the same situation. Afterward, I also created another
poster about double masking published on our FB page. Monitoring and updating our
Facebook was the last thing I did to spent the remaining hours.
Day 24

Wednesday| August 11
Script

Another regular day for all of us; I continuously monitor and update our FB page and
browse in some relevant news that we can share. While waiting for our scheduled zoom
meeting, I drafted a poster about COVID 19 Symptoms and some infographics about
keeping safe, significantly since the number of cases in the City is rising. Subsequently,
during our zoom meeting, I helped create and finalize the script for our upcoming second
episode of the City Talks. I also researched some information about our guests and shared
it with our team. Afterward, we sent the plan to our supervisor, where he responded
positively. He said that the proposed concept was okay, but we have to be conscious that
the number of Covid 19 cases is increasing; It is unlikely for us to conduct an interview
face to face with our chosen guest; thus, we need to consider having our plan B.
Immediately after, we thought of other possibilities to make our plan possible, and all
agreed; to use zoom.

Day 25

Thursday| August 12
Self-Distancing

As with the persistent weather condition and routine habits, I started browsing the DOST-
PAGASA and the PDRRMO FB page to get information about the weather updates, and
immediately after, I created a poster for the 3-Day weather forecast, which I published on
the FB page. Subsequently, I also made two (2) infographics on self-distancing and
staying at home, which I think are relevant reminders for everyone due to an increasing
number of COVID 19 cases and the threat of the Delta Variant. We published one of the
infographics on our Page as a reminder that self-distancing is the new self-care during
this time of the delta variant and COVID 19 threat; the other infographics, "Stay at safe"
Stay at Home, is shared as a story feed of the Page. Afterward, I helped my co-intern RC
to draft a caption about the Perseids Meteor Shower.

Day 26
Friday| August 13
Mental Health
Mental Health is a big concern nowadays, primarily because of the fear that brought by
the Pandemic. Thus, I thought of creating a video infomercial on coping with stress
during this Covid 19 pandemic to start the day. I give emphasized the importance of
having a positive outlook and a healthy relationship with the family member. Talking
with the person we truly trust and asking for professional help is a must. Immediately
after making the video, I sent it to our GC for group approval, and I asked them to help
me with the proper caption before posting it to our FB page. We go over the assigned
tasks for each intern in charge, especially on creating posters for our regular postings like
the voter's registration countdown and our Trivia posting in the afternoon. I spent the
remaining hours monitoring news updates that I can share on our FB page and talked
with my other co-interns about the possibility of the City' issuing another lockdown due
to the alarming number of new Covid cases. Today, the Department of Health put
Dagupan City under the Alert level 4 due to the high bed utilization rate. Alert level 4 is
considered as the most elevated Covid -19 alert classification system in the Country.

Day 27-28
Saturday-Sunday | Aug 14-15
Free-day

Monitoring and updating our FB page for relevant news. Earlier on Sunday morning
(5:15AM) we received a reminder coming from our supervisor Mr. Cardinoza about the
regular flag-raising ceremony.

Day 29
Monday | Aug 16
Mayor Brian Lim Interview

Today is the third Monday of the month; hence we are requested to attend the regular
flag-raising ceremony. I, with my other co-interns, arrived at the City Museum at around
7:20 AM. We met Mr. Cardinoza in front of the museum. He introduced us to PNP
Dagupan head, Lt. Col. Louise Benjie Tremor. After a brief introduction and discussing
our plan for today's event, we headed upstairs and waited for the ceremony to start.
Consecutively, I am taking some video snippets on how the PIO staff are working behind
the camera. The ceremony only lasted for thirty (30) minutes, and as expected, the media
personality set up an interview with the City Mayor. Subsequently, Mr. Cardinoza
endorses us to Mayor Brian Lim for our request interview. We planned to have Mayor
Brian Lim be our second guest on our episode on the City Talks. The interview went very
well; by this, we got to know more about the City Mayor behind his image as a public
servant, and we admire him evenly for his wit and personality. Another job well done for
the team, and we are planning to outline the second episode flow during the next couple
of days. Immediately upon arriving at home, I instructed RC to layout the Mayor's
message for our Paralympian guest Miss Achelle and continuously monitors the FB page.

Day 30

Tuesday| August 17
Typhoon Alert

Proceeding with another week's tasks, I woke up at around 6:00AM and shared the live
weather forecast issued by the DOST-PAGASA and browse some relevant updates and
news that I can share on the page. After summarizing the information on some weather
news, I layout a poster about the possible typhoons entering the Philippine Area of
responsibility for the year's remaining months. Afterward, I shared it amongst the group
and waited for approval before publishing it on our FB page. Subsequently, as planned, I
and my other co-interns discussed our weekly plan through zoom and recorded part one
of the City talks' second episode. Throughout the planning, we outlined and distributed
the task for everyone to comply with during the week. I am in-charged of finalizing the
end-credit of the episode full coverage and tasked to monitor the updates on the design
and work together with my co-interns RC and Alain as editors. We are continuously
renovating and exploring ideas to improve the FB page and enhance our duties and
responsibilities as interns.

Day 31

Wednesday| August 18
End-Credit

I woke up at around 5:30 AM. As a routine, I gathered updates about the weather
condition; this time, I checked some relevant updates on the COVID-19 virus and the
ongoing vaccination nationwide and visited some websites and pages for the facts.
Successively I chance on an article from the W.H.O. about the cases of COVID-19 for
children ages 17 years old and below; hence, I got an idea of creating an infographic for
an awareness campaign about it, and immediately after I send it to the group for the
approval and I asked Jeanie my co-intern to help me draft the heading before publishing
it to our F.B. page. Afterward, I monitored the editors on the update about our City Talks'
second episode and started editing the end credits we needed for the video. Before the
day ended, I asked Jeanie, my co-intern, to make a script for the infomercial on the
proper wearing of a mask and lowering the risks against the virus and send her some facts
from the World Health Organization F.B page that I searched.

Day 32

Thursday| August 19
Voice-Over

I am feeling a bit under the weather; thus, I woke up at around 8:00 AM and immediately
browsed the FB page and searched for relevant news and updates amongst the group. We
received several inquiries about the job posting posted on the page about the Citys' need
for additional registered nurses, and I was assigned to answer their queries.
Consequently, I did a voice-over for the two (2) scripts for our infomercials to publish
within a week, and the other is by Tuesday next week. After finishing the voice-over, I
continuously monitor our FB page while checking for the updates on the poster teaser
scheduled for posting within the day and checking the status of the editing team lead by
my co-intern RC for our City Talks second episode.

Day 33

Friday| August 20
Canva

Thank God for Its Friday! another week is about to end. Due to my persistent allergic
reaction, I woke up late and immediately browsed and opened my messenger and FB for
any updates. I sent a message to our GC to update the ongoing editing of our video teaser
and complete segment of our episode 2. I informed them that I already uploaded my
edited end credit clips. Afterward, I drafted a news heading about the weather update I
got from DOST-PAGASA and published it on our FB page. My co-intern RC sent me
some infomercial he thinks we can emulate and asked me to draft one. The infomercial is
about"How Vaccines Work" Accordingly, I watched and prepared a script and made an
infomercial using Canva. I recently enjoyed exploring Canva; this software is functional
and editor-friendly, even if I am just a beginner. Apart from the infomercial, I am editing
a poster to be published tomorrow, August 21. We ended the day by updating all the
materials needed to prepare for the dry run and airing our second episode by Monday. I
continuously monitor the FB page and answering application inquiries for the job
posting.
Day 34-35
Saturday-Sunday | Aug 21-22
Teasers

We scheduled to finalize everything on the weekend, from posting teasers to the final
output of episode 2 of the City Talks featuring the City Mayor Marc Brian Lim as our
second episode guest. By Saturday 4 PM, we posted our second teaser and sent an
invitation amongst the page about the upcoming live feed.

Day 36
Monday | August 23
City Talks Second Episode

Today's scheduled activities were all planned and arranged. In the morning, the first thing
I did is to check some relevant weather, Covid-19 updates that I can share on our F.B.
page. Consecutively I also reviewed the final video edit for our episode 2 of the City
Talks. Immediately after finalizing everything, we scheduled a Final Dry-run, invited sir
Cardinoza, and sent him the complete output for his approval. Mr. Cardinoza sends his
support and apologizes for not joining; he is currently on sick leave. At around 1:00 PM,
we had our dry-run for the night live F.B. feed. Mykhael Tyrone created a page wherein
we could run the segment, and it took us several runs to finally be able to confidently
decided that everything's settle for the live broadcast. 6:00 PM, we had our second
episode of the City Talks broadcasted live via F.B. feed. The day ended recognizing each
amongst the team job well done.

Day 37

Tuesday| August 24
Challenge accepted

Another week to ponder and to strive to enhance our knowledge and experiences. As
customary, due to the flexible working from home setup, I started my day at 6:00 AM,
checked, and searched for relevant news that we can emulate and post on our F.B. page. I
browsed all the pages on my explored searched history PAGASA-DOST, PIA-
Pangasinan, PDRRMO, PIO-Dagupan, WHO, DOH; this is my routine for almost six
weeks now. Upon checking, I got an idea on creating another Infomercial about 'Proper
facemask Management.' Immediately, I opened my laptop and started to form a script. I
edited the infomercial through Canva, and afterward, I did a recorded voice-over for the
entire piece. These days my co-intern Alain and I were challenged by our co-intern R.C.
to edit and record a V.O. of each own infomercial; thus, I exerted my effort to challenge
myself too, as I am not good at editing videos. Subsequently, after finishing, I sent my
draft to R.C. and asked him for pointers needed to improve on the piece. After polishing,
I sent the polished file on our group chat for every one approval and published. At 1:00
PM, the group set up a weekly meeting to talk about the plan; I joined late (1:30 PM) due
to work. During the meeting, we established our weekly posting and distributed the task
to everyone. The day ended brainstorming amongst the group on what we can put on the
table and produce for the remaining internship hours.

Day 38

Wednesday| August 25
Mascom's mantra

I woke up at around 5:30 AM. Gathered updates about the weather condition; this time, I
checked some relevant updates on the COVID-19 virus and the ongoing vaccination
nationwide and visited some websites and pages for the facts. Successively, I chance on
an update about Covid-19 cases for the entire Pangasinan issued Tuesday, August 24
@6:00PM. I immediately sent the information to our group chat and asked my co-intern,
Mykhael Tyrone, to create an infographic regarding the news. Afterward, I continuously
monitor our F.B. page and share relevant news updates. Consecutively, I am enhancing
my knowledge on using Canva and ask my co-intern R.C. for some guidelines that I can
grasp. Learning these crafts makes me feel accomplished because I never thought that I
would be able to draft my very own edited video, infomercials, posters, and infographics.
Due to the threat of a pandemic and lack of opportunity to cater to various services,
Mascom's mantra "Ihanap ang Sarili" is the Rule.

Day 39

Thursday| August 26
Errand

As customary, I started the day early, but unlike the other days, I planned to immediately
finish my task, as I had an errand to attend to in the afternoon. I start by browsing
relevant news about the weather, COVID-19 cases, and other newsworthy information
and successively composed and shared news about the weather update. Afterward, I open
my laptop to start making a poster assigned to me about "Knowing Your Vaccines." I
need to gather some facts about the vaccine's effectiveness as my task and choose this
topic because I am skeptical about getting one. While creating and gathering information
about this subject, I understood the importance of vaccines and learned how each vaccine
works. Subsequently, after finishing the poster, I sent it to the group chat, and upon
approval, I scheduled the posting and created the caption. After finishing my task, I sent a
message to the group and informed them of my errand, and request them to monitor the
page on my behalf.

Day 40

Friday| August 27
TGIF!

Thank God for Its Friday! I woke up early as I felt unwell due to the first dose of vaccine
I got yesterday. I immediately browsed and opened my messenger and F.B. for any
updates. Afterward, I drafted news heading about the weather update I got from DOST-
PAGASA and published it on our F.B. page. Even feeling sick, I opened my laptop to
create another infomercial and a trivia poster needed for our Trivia Friday. A video
infomercial I made was about an awareness campaign on health worker protection; these
days, our health workers are receiving discrimination all over the globe, which I think is
very inhumane. Our Health workers are doing their best to care for us; thus, let us care
for them. After finishing the video infomercial, I sent it to the group, and upon approval,
we posted it on the F.B. page. Consecutively, I sketched another poster using Canva, the
trivia poster we need for our Trivia Friday regular posting. It was my turn to create one.
As I finished it, I sent it to the group scheduled for posting, and another week ended by
continuously monitoring our F.B. page and enhancing skills individually.

Day 41-42
Saturday-Sunday | Aug 28-29
Off

I was continuously updating and monitoring our F.B. page. We were discussing amongst
the team our plan for the remaining weeks.

Day 43
Monday | August 30
National Heroes Day

Four more weeks left, roughly twenty days to complete our internship at Public
Information Office. Today Aug, 30 was declared as a holiday nationwide, but I woke up
early to design our poster for National Heroes day. Immediately after completing the
layout, I forwarded it to the group for their approval and scheduled it for posting.
Eventually, I browse relevant topics and update on weather and Covid 19 cases. I saw an
editorial about the reminder we need to know before and after getting the Covid vaccine;
hence, I got an idea to create an infographic and present my opinion to the team. In the
afternoon, we conduct a zoom meeting to discuss our plan for the remaining weeks left.
We decided to start our documentary video that Mr. Cardinoza tasked as our final
internship output during the session. Other minutes of the meeting include distributing
our daily tasks for our regular posting on the page. Later on the day, my co-intern RC
requested me to help him draft a caption about the COVID-19 Cases throughout the
Province.

Day 44
Tuesday| August 31
Conceptualizing

Local weather synopsis Intertropical Convergence zone or (ICTZ) affecting the country
announced by PAGASA-DOST: My day started with this article at around 7:30 AM; I
created a poster and heading on a three-day weather forecast in Dagupan City.
Consecutively, after finishing the infographic and the caption, I sent it to our GC for the
team's approval and, afterward, published it on our FB page. Following my Canva
assignment is to create another infographic for our Tuesday regular voters' registration
countdown and schedule it for posting after I finished. During the lunch break, I searched
on some websites and materials that we can again emulate to create some relevant and
timely posting. Subsequently, I sent it to my co-intern RC for his opinion and called him
to explain my viewpoint. During the call, my co-intern RC and I agreed to create another
infomercial and asked me to create a script about it. After calling RC, I started
conceptualizing content for our final documentary concept, wherein I called another co-
intern, Jeanie, to discuss the idea I had imagined. Time continued while I was thinking
about the video- documentary concept and monitoring our FB page.

Day 45
WEDNESDAY| September 1
“BER” Months Yay!

Ber-Months finally started! Marks, an auspicious day ahead!! It is also signalizing a near
completion of our internship journey. Today, I began by sending my drafted concept flow
for our video documentary to one of my co-intern, Jeanie, and discussed further options
assuming and foreseeing possible difficulties. I also proposed my idea and concept about
the separate video that we also need to accomplish, a tribute video to PIO. Subsequently,
I recorded a voice-over for an infomercial asked by co-intern RC about the benefit of
sleeping early, where the script credited from PDRRMO. Later in the afternoon, I make
another poster on Vaccine Efficacy and afterward sent it for the group's approval and
posted it on our FB page.

Day 46
THURSDAY| September 2
Story Flow

I have begun my day early by monitoring updates on weather conditions and some
relevant COVID- 19 facts and news. I saw an article about ITCZ or the Intertropical
Convergence Zone, forwarded it to our GC, and asked who wanted to create a poster.
Mykhael, my co-intern, did. Afterward, I start to conceptualize an additional idea and
story flow for our video documentary. I drafted several concept flows and added them
from the first two concepts I had written in the past day. Consecutively, I wrote a script
about mental health care and shared it with the team. I also sent some relevant articles
that we can emulate for the following days.

Day 47
FRIDAY| September 3
Healthy Dagupan

For a Healthy Dagupan, Care for your mental health as you care for others, a voice-over
echoing early Friday Morning. As requested by my co-intern RC., I did the voice-over for
the script I created about mental health care posted at 3:00 PM of the day. Immediately
after finishing the voice-over, I searched for some updates on weather and Covid-19
situations. I also shared some updates from the Public Information Office-Dagupan Fb
pages. Later in the afternoon, I created another poster for reducing Covid-19 cases and
published it as a story. Today we are glad to hear from our supervisor, Mr. Cardinozas'
recovery, and he told us to meet him on Monday at the regular flag-raising ceremony.
T.G.I. F.!

Day 48-49
Saturday & Sunday | September 4-5, 2021
CANCELLED

Monitoring and updating our FB page for relevant news. Earlier on Sunday morning
(5:15AM) we received an information coming from our supervisor Mr. Cardinoza about
the regular flag-raising ceremony declaring the cancellation starting Sept 6, 2021 until
further notice.

Day 50
Monday | September 6
Peculiar Monday

A peculiar Monday to start a month for all of us interns. For the past two months, we
used to have our regular face-to-face meeting at the flag-raising ceremony, but, for the
safeness of everyone, the city government decided to cancel the recurring event because
of the threat of COVID-19. I started my day by checking up on relevant news and
updates. Consecutively, I shared an update about the weather condition coming from
PAGASA-DOST. Afterward, the team discussed changing the concept of our
documentary due to the existing situation. Anticipating the problem for the past few days,
I had already prepared some ideas and presented them to the group. While discussing, we
got news on putting the entire Province under GCQ and immediately suggest our co-
intern, Alain and Rc, create an infographic. Our supervisor, Mr. Cardinoza, sent and
shared GCQ guidelines through our group chat. I spent the remaining hours finalizing the
chosen video-documentary concept while considering the restrictions we must follow and
observe.

Day 51
Tuesday| September 7
Self Care Tuesday

I started the day by continuously monitoring updates on weather disturbances arising

inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. I shared updates from the NDRRMC
( National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council) FB page posted on City Pulse.
While monitoring, I make a poster in Canva about the benefit of taking care of ourselves,
and after sending it for the team's approval, I posted it and published it on our FB page.
Consecutively, I created another poster about the "Prostate Awareness" campaign as
September is considered as Prostate awareness month, citing my source, the Pangasinan
Provincial Health. We discussed among the team the plan for our video documentary and
sent it to Mr. Cardinoza's consent. Our group requested an Internship ID and was granted
by our ever-supportive supervisor and told us that he would ask their Editor to create it
for us.

Day 52
WEDNESDAY| September 8
Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary

I woke up early because of the disturbance brought by the weather condition. I

immediately browsed for updates and shared them on our FB page. Today is a blessed
day as we celebrate the nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary; I created a poster and
published it on our page to join the celebration for this holy day. This day, aside from
updating, monitoring, and creating posters and infographics, the team already decided to
compile all the video clips we will need for our documentary and our tribute videos. Later
the afternoon, I shared amongst the team some articles that we can again emulate,
especially those relevant because of the weather disturbances that we are experiencing.
We also distribute some posters that need to create for regular posting.

Day 53
THURSDAY| September 9
Lucky 7

Today is the day that we welcomed our new co-intern, Jerald. I asked for permission
from our supervisor Mr. Cardinoza to add Jerald to our group chat, where he granted and
told us that he already talked and discussed with Jerald. As ate, I am in charge of
orienting him on how we work as interns of the Public Information Office. As customary,
I browsed in some relevant weather and Covid 19 updates and shared them on our FB
page to start the day. I also recorded a voice-over for an infomercial on what we have to
do during typhoons now that we face a pandemic. I also continue to compile some videos
for our documentary and tribute output.

Day 54
FRIDAY| September 10
#ImInformedDagupeño

I am thanking God for the guidance and being able to reach this far in the internship
journey. Two more weeks are left, and all of us are busy preparing our last requirements
while guiding Jerald, our new co-intern, of the things he has to do later before we leave
him. I started by sending relevant information and articles on our group chat and
assigning someone to create a poster or an infomercial. I also phoned and asked some of
my friends and colleagues to take a photo holding signages with the hashtag
"#IMInformedDagupeño" "#PIORealNews" to be used for our tribute video and send it to
my email. Consecutively, I created two posters for an awareness campaign against
childhood cancer, and one about COVID-19 health guidelines where shared and posted
on our page. I also resume answering some queries and applications for the nurses' job
posting on our page while compiling and searching for more videos for our documentary.
Day 55-56
SATURDAY & SUNDAY | September 11-12

Monitoring and updating our FB page for relevant news.

Day 57
Monday | September 13
Vaccine Efficacy

Today we scheduled to visit the PIO office to shoot a video of its day-to-day operation.
We will be using it for our tribute video but, because of the threat of COVID-19, almost
the majority are afraid and decided to choose and find alternatives to get the video
without the need for us to leave our house. I thought of an idea and discussed it with the
groupmate, where then later, we all agreed to show it the way I presented it.
Consecutively, after the discussion, I started checking up on relevant news and updates
and created two posters shared and published within the day. The remaining hours I spent
monitoring the page and the group activity for the week's plan.

Day 58
Tuesday| September 14
Philippine National ID system

I started the day by sharing updates from the NDRRMC (National Disaster Risk
Reduction Management Council) FB page posted on City Pulse. While monitoring, I
made a poster in Canva about the efficacy of vaccines available against COVID-19 and
the vaccination program's status nationwide; I posted it and published it on our FB page.
Consecutively, I created another infographic about the registration process and step 2
procedure for the Philippines National Identification System and guidelines. Afterward, I
recorded a voice-over for an infomercial that my co-intern RC edited. Later that day, we
also finalized the editing team in charge of documentary and tribute video and supervised
their work.

Day 59
WEDNESDAY| September 15
Final Script
I woke up early and immediately browsed for any relevant weather and COVID 19
updates and shared them on our FB page. Consecutively, I answered several queries in
the private message sent to our messenger about the Nursing and Doctors Job posted on
our page. In the afternoon, I worked with my co-intern, Alain, to download all relevant
videos needed for our documentary and tribute videos and settle everything before they
got down to the editing phase. I also asked help from Jeanie, our other co-intern, to
finished and put the final touch on our script for the documentary. Subsequently, I made
a poster and caption on Leukemia awareness month posted on our page. I managed the
rest of the day, monitoring and updating our Facebook page and shared relevant news
from the PIO main FB page.

Day 60
THURSDAY| September 16

As customary, I browsed in some relevant weather and Covid 19 updates and shared
them on our FB page to start the day. I also continue to compile some videos for our
documentary and tribute output while monitoring the updates from the editing team. We
decided to divide the group into two, and each is in charge of a different task. Team Rc
and Alain will edit the video documentary titled proposed "aKU NA BA ? (Bakuna)."
And Team Mykhael Tyrone and Jerald will be doing the PIO tribute video. On the other
hand, we, ladies, will be scrutinizing the progress and the flow. While everyone is
bustling with different tasks, we still managed to update and monitor our page, and each
is taking a turn to visit the page and produce some relevant articles worthy of being
shared.

Day 61
FRIDAY| September 17
Editing Phase

Blessed Friday! Everyone from the group is bustling for our final internship requirement.
I sent a message asking my co-interns, especially our editors, to update our video
documentary and tribute video to start the day. I also worked with a co-intern and
supervised her recording of voice records; as the scriptwriter, I needed to guide her on the
correct emotion and deliverance word per word. We had tried different ways and tuned to
perfect the feeling. Thoroughly, I need to make sure that everything from the script is
delivered. Consequently, I monitor and update the page for more relevant news updates
and remind everyone about our regular postings.

Day 62-63
SATURDAY & SUNDAY | September 18-19

Monitoring and updating our FB page for relevant news.

Day 64
Monday | September 20
Fruitful week Ahead

A fruitful week ahead. It will be our final week as Interns and part of a respected Public
Information Office- Dagupan. The entire internship journey was smooth and gave us time
to discover and learn new things our way. Still accustomed to what I had been doing for
almost ten weeks, I started my day monitoring and updating our FB page. I also sent
some articles to the team, and I created two posters, one which emphasizes the goodness
of proper hygiene this time of pandemic and the other about the tips on keeping our
workplace safe. In the Afternoon, I contacted our masscom family and requested them to
record a video clip on their stands about getting a COVID-19 vaccine, compiled it, and
sent it to my co-intern, Alain, for editing. I supervised the editing and collecting of videos
that are still lacking.

Day 65

I started the day by sharing updates from the DOST- PAGASA weather updates and
monitored our Fb page, the City Pulse. I received an early message from Miss Elaine
Fulgencio, former ABS-CBN reporter, and Mr. Badz Agtalao, a chief news anchor of
IFM and former head field reporter of Bombo Radyo Dagupan. They both acknowledged
my request, a video clip needed for our Documentary video. Immediately after receiving
the videos, I sent them to our editor, my co-intern, Alain. I also helped Jerald, another co-
intern, compose a news caption for our Voters countdown and gathered some facts from
the COMELEC- Dagupan, posted on our FB page as our regular posting. I continuously
worked and supervised our editor RC and Alain to finish our video documentary. At
around 6:19 PM, the video was ready for rendering and ended after an hour and thirty

posting it to our page. Consequently, I am monitoring our FB page for updates and
remind Jerald, our co-intern, of our regular posting. In the afternoon, my co-intern Jeanie
