SUMMARY OF JOURNAL
A. First Journal
In the first journal the definition of the meeting and what factors affect a
meeting to be an effective meeting includes readiness before meetings, meetings,
meeting ends, objectives, expected outcomes, time constraints, members,
facilitators, meeting effectiveness evaluations. And in the first article it says that,
Effective meeting is an integrative part of organizational life. Meetings not only
result in the exchange of information and decision-making that are desirable, but
also result in improved communication and the department understand each other.
The research in this article aims to examine and rank on factors that contribute to
effective meetings at Isfahan Gas Company. The method used in this study is the
questionnaire method that has been examined and confirmed through the validity
of the face. Also Cronbachs Alpha has been used to check the reliability of the
questionnaire. The first hypothesis of this study shows that the level of factors that
contribute to effective meetings is average. The results of this test indicate that
meetings are not regularly conducted at Isfahan Gas Company. These results also
reveal that factors that contribute effectively to meetings are not attended in this
company. The second hypothesis of this study shows that the mean of the factors
contributing to effective meetings are similar to each other. The third hypothesis
of this study shows that there is a significant difference between the chairman,
secretary, and member's point of view of effective factors in effective meetings.
Finally, the results of variance analysis (ANOVA) in this article indicate that there
is a significant relationship between the member positions in the meeting with
them point of view about the factors that contribute to effective meetings.

B. Second Journal
In this journal it provides an understanding of meetings, where meetings
are a common activity in most organizations, seeking to provide means for
decision-making and goal setting, scheduling work, solving problems, and
disseminating information. Inefficiencies can be detrimental to the organization in
terms of staff salaries for time spent in unproductive / unnecessary meetings / cost
or efficiency costs (eg, staff's inability to engage, not in more productive
activities), and potential organizational costs such as lowering morale . This
qualitative study examines the broad comments, multi-national employee samples
of factors affecting quality and effective meetings. Research in this article covers
respondents from several countries. The research in this article is a continuation of
the previous article which means there is already research prior to the research
discussed in this article. This study aims to build and express both content and
process factors in the perceptions of effectiveness, and using a broader example of
leaders and participants from previous studies. This qualitative investigation
considers three additional topics: meeting the dissatisfaction, culture, and
theoretical development. This research is used with questionnaire method. The
results show that employees are often invited to meetings of little personal
relevance and many meeting organizers fail to apply basic meeting design
practices. Findings show differences in response patterns for home countries,
employment status (part-time or full-time), and type of organization, but not for
gender, supervisory status, and organizational mastery. Furthermore, the proposed
model of meeting motivation has the potential to advance the understanding of
why some meetings are more effective than others.
