Problem

• cannot import data to SDT270 device


or
cannot export data from SDT270 device

Solution
Î Install or upgrade SDT270 driver

; !!! Please note: you need administrative rights on the computer !!!

; Step 1: turn on the SDT270 device


Wait until it’s fully started (so measuring ultrasound).

; Step 2: connect the SDT270 device to the computer with USB

; Step 3: driver installation

a) Automatically start driver installation

After you’ve connected the device, the computer may automatically show the
window “Found new hardware wizard”.

If this window does NOT appear:


Î continue with Error! Reference source not found.

If it does appear:
Î click the “Next” button
Î continue with step 2 c).
b) Manually start driver installation
(follow this step only if the “add hardware wizard” is not started automatically)

Î Open the device manager:


• Clicking the Start button
• Click Settings
• Click Control panel
• Double click System
• Click tab Hardware
• Click Device Manager
• Continue with following Î

Î In the tree, open the node “Network adapters”


Î The list should contain the option “Linux USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget”,
probably with a red or yellow exclamation mark in front.

Î Right click the option “Linux USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget” and click “update
driver…”

Î Select the second option (“…specific location”) and continue with step 2 c)
c) Actual driver installation
After following the previous step(s), you should see the following window.

Î Make sure that you select the same options as in the screenshot above.
Î The location should be set to:
Æ if UAS was installed:
C:\Program Files\SDT\Ultranalysis Suite\Resources\Drivers
Æ if DataDump was installed:
C:\Program Files\SDT\SDT270 Data Dump\Resources\Drivers

Î Click “Next” to install the driver.


Î Windows will show the following warning, which you can safely ignore by
clicking “Continue anyway”.
Î Windows will start the driver installation.

Î After the installation, click “Finish”. Now the SDT270 device should be
recognized by Windows and the import/export functionality will function
properly.

IMPORTANT: in Windows XP, the driver needs to be installed for each USB
port the SDT270 device will be connected to.

For example: if the computer has two USB ports in front of the pc, follow the
next step.
Î Disconnect the SDT270 from the current USB port.
Î For the second USB port, repeat the above steps.
