Summary:
Students will use ipads to go around the classroom and scan QR codes that have sight words.

The QR codes will be taped around the classroom for the children to find and scan with their ipad.

Instructional Procedures: (This will be one of the most detailed sections of this assignment).

Day 1:

First 10 minutes: I will explain to the children what a QR code is and that they will be going around with their ipad
scanning the QR code using the camera and then identifying the attached QR code. Next 5 Minutes: my 12 students will
be split into groups of 2. Next 40 minutes: Students will go around with their ipads and scan the QR Codes. Next 20
Minutes: Class will use the Promethan Board to write down all the words they found.

This website explains what a QR code is, reasons to use them, how to use them, and what they may look like. This
gives students a good explanation about them and their purpose.

Differentiated Instructional Support: Describe how instruction can be differentiated (changed or altered) to meet the
needs of gifted or accelerated students: Ask the students to practice spelling the sight words.

Discuss additional activities you could do to meet the needs of students who might be struggling with the material:
One thing that could be done for students who are struggling to find all the word around the room is to tape a paper
to a table with all the words so the student doesn’t have to go around the room.

Vocabulary:
QR Code-A QR Code a short way to say Quick Response Code.
It is a bar code looking square that hold information that you scan

with a smart device to “read” it and tells you what it is.
