DISASTER READINESS AND RISK REDUCTION

PERFORMANCE
TASK #2
Prepared by Avril Jayzel R. Balington
ENVIRONMENTAL
Pollution can cause landslides,
poison lands, and rivers, and even
destroy ecosystems. Dangerous
substances that build up in top
predators may make certain
animals unfit for consumption.
ENVIRONMENTAL

Eruptions can be very hazardous to

the environment, especially because
volcanic lava material may contain a
variety of toxic gases. Acid rain can be
caused by volcanoes ejecting toxins
into the atmosphere.
ENVIRONMENTAL

Acid rain is a natural hazard. It has the

ability to dissolve nutrients that plants
need to survive. Aluminum is absorbed
into the soil as a result of acid rain,
making it impossible for plants to
absorb water.
SOCIAL
Smoking could cause a fire.
Lit cigarette could heat up
things that easily burn like
curtains, sofa, bed, etc. This
may lead to injuries or even
death.

Being exposed to
secondhand smoke could
also be harmful to people in
the surrounding.
SOCIAL
Leaving electronic parts
unprotected might cause
explosions, fires, or even
death caused by
flammable and explosive
materials. Overhead power
lines come into touch.
SOCIAL
Street racing is hazardous, Car accidents
could harm drivers, passengers, spectators,
or innocent citizens who are killed or
wounded, and properties get destroyed.
ECONOMIC

An earthquake could interrupt

businesses due to damage to
buildings and infrastructures.
ECONOMIC

A global epidemic of
infectious disease for which
there is no natural
resistance to control the
threat. Loss of productive
workforce could badly
affect businesses and the
country's economy.
ECONOMIC
A cyberattack can have a wide
range of implications for a
business. It may result in the
loss or corruption of electronic
data. This could devastate a
whole company or even a
country's economy.
