Critique of Qualitative Research 2

This qualitative research article was entitled “Elementary School Administrators and
Their Roles in the Context of Effective Schools” with the aim to assess data regarding qualities
of effective school leaders.
This study employed qualitative methodologies to investigate effective approaches of
school administrators and their roles to become effective leaders. The researcher of the study was
able to come to the finality of the research of which he was able to discuss the factors of
becoming an effective school principal and the personal characteristics to employ within his area
of responsibility.
Since the study is qualitative, it has come for the researchers to realize that there had been
no seeking of further and supplementary information after the hypothesis because the study’s
method itself was not comparative. The study emphasized on roles and qualities that better
cultivate the principals' way of dealing with his constituents and best approaches.
As a reader, I had found out that the procedures of the data gathering analysis, the
researchers used member checks. It was again being stated that the data analysis and data
collections are via-records and by taking notes during interviews. After individual interviews, the
data were verified through focus group discussions in sessions carried out in three sub-groups.
The content analysis was done initially by the primary researchers and then by two other
researchers.
The researchers in this article did a conformability audit. It was very evident in the
conclusions, interpretations and recommendations that the findings are the product of the focus
of the inquiry and not of the biases of the researchers.
The researchers provide substantial description. I thought this study was good, important,
and interesting, made sense, and I would act upon this article. Administrators in any school, no
matter of the diversities of people, it is very important to employ the best characteristics in
dealing whether or not the members of the workforce adheres to the administrators.
This results of this study showed that the individuals and groups are thoroughly informed
about their experiences. The researcher also informed about the purpose of the study before
conducting the interview and focus group discussions. All research participants must give their
permission to be part of a study and they must be given pertinent information and the consent to
participate.
