To complete the study, the researchers will send a letter to the School Principal

requesting permission to conduct the survey questionnaires through social media

platforms. This survey-questionnaires contains different questions about the topic-
related in the study. The data that will be gathered serve as the basis of the
researchers to easily understand the issue. The researchers will share each links to
the respondents and also asked for permission to their teacher in charge about
giving out questionnaires to their students once the letter has been signed by the
School Principal. In turn, the researchers will distribute the prepared questionnaires
to the students via social media accounts such as Facebook. Following that, the
completed data will be analyzed and given to the statistician.

Since we are still in the pandemic situation we will be limited to share the surveys.
Due to the fact that there is still no face to face today school year 2021 to 2022.
These questionnaires that we made are enclosed in the so called Google forms, so
that the students of The Mabini Academy can continue their research for our
research about Factors that make up social media addiction. So many have used
social media today because here they make money just like online selling or live
stream if you call it using the social media platform Facebook because here people
always transact. For Generation Z, we can say that they are one of the most frequent
users of social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. In today's time,
young people are inevitably immersed in social media for the sake of
communication, so to speak, they communicate with other people using social
media using social media.

Social Media Addiction can be viewed as one form of Internet addiction, where
individuals exhibit a compulsion to use social media to excess (Griffiths, 2000;
Starcevic, 2013). Individuals with social media addiction are often overly concerned
about social media and are driven by an uncontrollable urge to log on to and use
social media (Andreassen & Pallesen, 2014). Studies have shown that the symptoms
of social media addiction can be manifested in mood, cognition, physical and
emotional reactions, and interpersonal and psychological problems. It has been
reported that social media addiction affects approximately 12% of users across social
networking sites. One factor that may underlie the negative effects of social
media addiction is self-esteem. Although viewing or editing one's own online profile
enhances self-esteem, according to the Hyperpersonal Model (Gonzales & Hancock,
2010), social media users are frequently exposed to others’ selective and glorified
online self-presentations, which can, in turn, reduce the viewers’ self-esteem
(Rosenberg & Egbert, 2011). However, multiple studies have found a strong link
between heavy social media and an increased risk for depression, anxiety, loneliness,
self-harm, and even suicidal thoughts. Social media may promote negative
experiences such as: Inadequacy about your life or appearance.

We will conduct this research study this second semester in the year 2021-2022.The
data gathered from the questionnaires will be tallied and computed for the statistical
treatment that we will be used in the study. Correspondingly, the researchers will
send out the prepared questionnaire to the students through Google forms. After
that the completed data will be analyzed and will be given to the statistician.
