Other Types of Conditional Sentences

In other types of Conditional Sentences, we will learn about Imaginary


Sentences and few Words which are used in conditional sentences.
Imaginary Sentences

When two imaginations come in a sentence which are either almost impossible or
almost possible, the following three rules apply to make the sentence.:

Rule Number Rule

One If + Subject + Were + Object + (,) + Subject + Would have + V3 + Remaining.


Two Had + Subject + V3 + Object + (,) + Subject + Would have + V3 + Remaining
Three If + Subject + Had + V3 + Object + (,) + Subject + Would have + V3 + Remaining
If I were a bird, I would have flown in the sky.
Had I been in the forest, I would have seen wolves.
If I had been a doctor, I would have become a cardiologist.
• Sentence of impossible imagination is made as per Rule number One.
When imaginations are almost possible, then sentence is made as per
Rule number Two or Three. When there is a confusion that the
imagination is impossible or almost possible, then also sentence is
made as per Rule number Two or Three.
If I were the Prime Minister, I would have solved the problems of country.
Had you worked hard, you would have passed with good marks.
If I were you, I would have kicked him out.
If he had not been indifferent to studies, why would he have failed?
If I were the President of America, I would have eliminated terrorism completely.
Had I been in this place, I would have brought the facts to scene.
If I were your brother, I would have gifted you a car.
Had I known how to fly an aeroplane, I would have been among top pilots.
If I were a sparrow, I would have reached my mother immediately.
If I were your teacher, I would have taught you a lot.
Use of Would with If Clause for conditional sentence Skip
When would is used in If clause, then simple future is taken in main
clause.

If he would like to come, I will arrange tickets for him. ‫میں اسکے لیے ٹکٹ کا بندوبست کروں گا۔‬،‫اگر وہ آنا چاہتا ہے‬
If they would like to stay in the hostel, they are free to ‫ وہ ایسا کرنے پر آزاد ہے۔‬،‫اگر وہ ہوسٹل میں رہنا چاہتا ہے‬
do so.
If you would come, I will hail you. ‫ میں تمہارا استقبال کرونگا۔‬،‫اگر تم آتے ہو‬
If you would like to eat meal, I will manage for you. ‫ میں تمہارے لیے بندوبست کروں گا۔‬،‫اگر تم کھانا کھانا چاہتے ہو‬
Use of Should with 'If Clause’ Skip
'Should' is used to express a difficult possibility.

If you should have any problem in finding dry ‫مجھے رابطہ‬،‫اگر تمہیں ڈرائ کلینر کی دکان ڈھونڈنے میں دقت ہو‬
cleaner’s shop, please ring me up. ‫کر لینا۔‬
If you should not get medicine there, please inform ‫اگر تمہیں دوائ نہ ملے تو مجھے رابطہ کرنا۔‬

If you should not get any vegetarian food in London, ‫اگر تمہیں لندن میں کوئ بھی سبزی واال کھانا نہ تو مجھ سے رابطہ‬
please contact him. ‫کرنا۔‬
Should you not get any vegetarian food in London, ‫اگر تمہیں لندن میں کوئ بھی سبزی واال کھانا نہ تو مجھ سے رابطہ‬
please inform me. ‫کرنا۔‬
Should any unknown packet reaches you, you can ‫اگر کوئ نامعلوم پیکٹ آپکو ملے تو آپ اسے واپس لوٹا سکتے ہیں۔‬
return it.
Use of 'Until and Unless’
Both, Until and Unless, are negative words. Until is used for time
reference and Unless is used for a condition.

Until Ehtisham comes back, Ahmad will stay awake for you.
Ammara will keep cooking until I eat to my whole fill.
Aqsa will quit the job until her family forces her.
You cannot reach Lahore in time unless you catch early flight.
You cannot apply for the job unless you have a professional degree.
You cannot go abroad unless you have visa.
Use of 'In case’
'In case' is used to express a possibility of an event.

In case you need my help, please inform my brother.


In case you see any unknown person near your house, switch on the lights of your balcony.
Knock at my door if someone disturbs you.
Use of 'Provided’ Almost replica of If in first condition.
'Provided' is used to express a condition for something.

I can go on tour to northern areas provided I get a confirmed railway ticket.


I can increase the rent provided you get it white-washed now.
I will not take leave provided you cancel his leave also.
Use of 'Suppose’
'Suppose' is used to express an imaginary assumption.

Supposed you are transferred to Jhang, what will you do?


Suppose this toy of lion gets alive, how many people will be killed?
Suppose she plays truant, how will you chase her?
Use of 'So long’
'So long' is used to express a time frame 'till the
time' .

People are safe so long Imran Khan is our leader.


So long he is out, you may stay here.
I will take care of you so long I am alive.
So long I am alive, I will not let you depend on someone else.
In case it rains, she will not come.
I shall call on you tomorrow provided it is a holiday.
I shall forgive him provided he does not shout loudly.
If I were a doctor, I would have treated the poor free of cost.
Should you go to Lahore, do see my mentor there.
If I were your bosom friend, you would have invited me to party.
If I were in your place, I would have resigned.
You cannot lead a happy life until you leave his company.
You cannot teach others unless you teach yourself at first.
I will give you reward if you tell me the truth.
Had I been a king, I would have decided better for my country.
