PERSONAL BACKGROUND

I am Jayvee Galut, (y/o) __________. I humbly write to apply for a study permit to pursue Justice
Diploma at NorQuest College in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where they admitted me as a full-time
student. The program’s duration is (). Attached herewith are the acceptance letter, my tuition fee
payment, and other supporting and important documents.

WHY JUSTICE DIPLOMA?
Young as I was, I have seen the cruelty of life. The daily news from the media that feature injustices
in our country made me realize the existence of these. I dreamed of becoming an international lawyer
one day, and I don’t really pursue that dream because of money, it is in my idealistic mind that
somehow, a man coming from a community where injustices exist, I need to do something. Learning
how Justice works is one way of achieving it. I am very eager that one day, the minorities will be
heard. And I believe that Canada has a better Justice System which we can learn from. I promise that
after my program, I will pursue my dream for my fellow Filipinos and be able to give back to my
community.
WHY CANADA?
I have always promised myself that if I will have the chance to upgrade my educational background
and will learn from colleges with international standards, I will pursue that promise. This is why
Canada is the best place to go due to the kind of environment it has, the facilities it provide, the
learning quality it offers and the tuition fees that are affordable. This is why I am very much eager to
be in Canada due to the kind of experience it can offer and will make my educational attainment to
International Standards which I could use for the rest of my life.
WHY NORQUEST COLLEGE?
Norquest College( my institution of choice) is regarded as one of the best colleges in Canada. This
college offers best programs and one of which is the Justice Diploma which is known in the college. It
provides an opportunity to students who need additional English Language or Academic upgrading
courses. They give students the chance to work closely with an advisor to personalize education plan
and will give the students freedom to select their courses. The college aims to help students to gain
skills and knowledge so as educational opportunities. It has facilities with standards set internationally
and this college prioritize the safety of its students.
As preparation to my study, I will be applying under the Study Direct Stream (SDS). In compliance
with the SDS process, the following are the documents included in this application:

 Payment of 1 year tuition fee

 Results of the valid academic IELTS
 Copy of Guaranteed investment Certificate
 Copy of my Medical Examination done tih
 I will bring additional funds in Canada as per
 Other supporting papers including personal, education, and other license documents

SOURCES OF FUNDING AND FINANCIAL STATUS

With regards to my financial status, I have saved money for this desired further learning for I am fully
aware of the cost needed. There will be no problem regarding the source of funds due to the support
of my grandparents who are retired policeman and teacher both living in the United States of
America. Before I have decided to apply, we have planned on how I and my family will be able to
support my studies in Canada. And they are very much willing to sacrifice for the sake of my dreams.

PLANS AFTER STUDY

After my studies, I have no plan of staying in Canada. I want to go back to the Philippines to spply the
learnings I will acquire from the college I will be entering. I want to pursue my passion which is
helping my fellow Filipinos. I am still young and I want to be with my family. I want to see my
parents happy as I grow older. I am just making sacrifice to go far from them for my dreams, but rest
assured that I will be back for them. I will be taking up Juris Doctor and be a lawyer in the
Philippines.
HOME TIES
Staying in Canada for good isn’t my plan. I don’t want my family to stay in our home country and I
will just be seeing them once in a while. I want to be with them after my program. As I pursue my
program, I will make sure to contact them and the existence of electronic devices and internet is of
great help for me to see them everyday.
My dream to study Justice Diploma in Canada isn’t just my sole dream, it is my family’s dream. As a
family oriented person, my family has been supportive since day one. They have pushed me to apply
even if life in Canada will be hard. Far from them and far from the culture and environment I have
been living with my whole life. But they told me that if I really want to achieve my dreams, I need to
sacrifice. And that is what I will be doing.
I have never travelled abroad, but I have searched and studied laws in Canada which will be very
helpful for me. I have asked experts to guide me with the laws and how are these implemented. This
will be my guide once I will be there.
Canada is a country where stories are as diverse as its people. And the diversity of its people will help
me become a better person for the rest of my life. Through this letter, I hope to justify my pure and
clean intention of pursuing Justice Diploma in Canada and fulfill my greatest dream in life. I humbly
request for your support to help me achieve my goals and aspirations in life. I hope your kind heart
will approve my study permit.
