Objective(s):
At the end of this lesson, my students will be able to write numbers 0 to 20 using a number of
rainforests animals to represent the written numerals 0-20.

Standard(s):
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.CC.A.3
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with
0 representing a count of no objects).

Resources/Materials List:
● Counting 0-20 Anchor Chart
● 0 to 20 writing worksheet
● Counting cubes

Procedure:
1. Cover the numbers 0-20 as a class
2. Demonstrate the worksheet
3. Worksheet
*Walk around to address any students having difficulty*
4. Assess the students’ knowledge by going over the assignment

● What are our counting strategies?

Plans for Differentiations:


● Accommodations: Count alongside students.
● Lengthen the time slot for the worksheet if needed.
● Modification: Add numbers to some of the pictures to help the students with their
counting.
