Why is it important to have a philosophy of the self?

The philosophy of self defines the key characteristics that distinguish one person from
another. There have been a slew of different attempts to identifying these characteristics. The
idea of an unitary being that is the source of awareness is known as the self. A clear, well-
defined philosophy provides the parameters and boundaries that keep you on track and it
explains why a person should have one that directs and drives your entire life. These ideas are
nothing more than a lifelong resolve to go far beyond self-improvement. Self-awareness is
crucial because it allows us to see ourselves as unique and different persons when we have a
deeper grasp of ourselves. Rather than concealing their flaws, the person who tries to hide them
draws attention to them, giving the impression of a lack of integrity and self-awareness.

Brief Background

To some, this may appear simple, but to others, it may appear impossible. Low self-
esteem, social anxiety, and the sense that they are not good enough are all issues that people
face. We actually begin to love ourselves when we follow our emotions. We begin to believe
that we are adequate, if not outstanding. We feel we are the person we were born to be. That
everything that has happened to us, whether good or bad, has shaped who we are today. That
everything that has happened has happened for a reason, has taught us a lesson, and has enabled
us to develop some skill or knowledge that we currently possess. We are exactly who we should
be, and we should embrace ourselves. When we begin to follow our hearts, when we are
prepared to ask the tough questions about what truly matters to us, we may gain a new level of
understanding of ourselves. When we are willing to ask the hard questions, we may be surprised
by what we would chose if we had to pick between what our heart urge us to do. If we listen to
our hearts, we could be astonished to discover that we can make our hearts desires a reality. To
sum up, I believe it is critical to emphasize the importance of listening to your heart, because
it is aware of your actual wants. It understands your desires and needs, as well as what will
truly satisfy you. We open ourselves up to potential when we are honest with ourselves and
willing to ask ourselves what is actually in our hearts. Possibility to be who we were genuinely
intended to be, doing what we were meant to do, and to follow our hearts' desires.
Significant Experience/s leading to a philosophy

When I was still at a very young age, I wished to become a beauty queen. So, I started
joining pageants at the age of 9. At first, I really enjoy showcasing my abilities and building
my confidence. But as time goes by, joining pageants put me in troubles and hurt my own self.
Hearing people laugh at me, standing near the audience who criticize me and be with persons
who do not believe in my capabilities made me realize that being a beauty queen is not easy.
There was also a time when I wanted to let go of my dream because it might not really mean
for me. They said that my height do not suit in pageantry. My skin is not that flawless, and I
do even have a flat nose. And one thing that really hurts me is that they said that my beauty
cannot pass on the standards. So I stopped joining pageants at the age of 14, believing that I
am just a person who is too ambitious for an impossible dreams. Not until one day, I woke up
with the realization that I should pursue my dreams even the world is against me. So, I tried to
do the thing I really love. Fortunately, I finally won a crown. It only proves that people surround
me has nothing to do with my life. They are not the one who will describe nor decide for who
I am and what path I will take. Because it is my own heart who knows what I really love. I own
the heart that only me can hear what it is shouting for. My heart is me and no other man will
be.
