1. What does this course or subject hopes to instill to those who study it?

Well, technology, science, and society are critical in today's society. Understanding how
social, cultural, and material factors impact the development of new practices and ways of
thinking is crucial to our understanding of society. This subject allows us to get insight into
how various knowledge processes are applied as well as how novel technical processes are
produced. It also provides insight into technological understanding and knowledge, as well as
the perspectives of the humanities and social sciences. It's essential to understand social and
cultural assessments of modern science and technology in the context of social, political,
economic, and cultural development. It's all linked together.

2. Give an example of a KNOWLEDGE-based outcome and provide a sample of this learning

outcome in a real life scenario.

An example of a KNOWLEDGE-based outcome is the internet. The internet enables students

to gain knowledge in an easy way especially in this time of pandemic which this plays as one
the important medium in learning. It also gives access to educators to vast educational
resources.

3. What does it mean that Science is a concerted human effort to have a better understanding
of the natural world and how it works, provide real life examples to support this definition of
Science.

Science is a concerted human effort to understand, or better understand, the history of the
natural world and how the natural world functions, using observable physical facts as a
foundation. This means that science is contrived or arranged by agreement that is done by
observing natural occurrences and/or attempting to mimic natural processes under

controlled settings through experiments. A perfect example of this is the covid-19 vaccines
where scientist and medical experts gone through many experiments just to reduce a
person’s risk of contracting the virus.

4. How is Science used in Technology?

Technology is one of the product of science. Science is the collection of facts using the
scientific method to investigate the world and how it operates. The application of scientific
knowledge to develop gadgets that solve problems and perform tasks is known as
technology. Thus, technology is literally the application of science and that is how science and
technology linked to each other.

5. In what era in history, Science and Technology was given much attention and was even
given judicial opportunities.

During the Post- Commonwealth Era. On this era, Science and Technology was given much
attention in which science grew and was even given judicial opportunities. During this era
under the Medium Term Philippine Development Plan for the years 1987-1992, science and
technology’s role in economic recovery and sustained economic growth was highlighted and
on this era science and technology development has become the top three priorities of the
government towards economy recovery.
