1. What does this course or subject hopes to instill to those who study it?

This course hopes that the students will have the knowledge about how science and technology
affect the society and environment, its impact on the different societies, and its historical
developments. It also aims that the students will acknowledge the significance of science and
technology because of the contribution it brought to the society, such as environmental
preservation and nation development.

2. Give an example of a KNOWLEDGE-based outcome and provide a sample of this learning outcome
in a real life scenario.

The effect of science and technology on society has deeply acknowledged by the people. Because of
the inventions that helped people live an easier life, it is certain that science and technology has a
big role in the society. Before, foods like meat cannot last overnight and will get spoiled
immediately, but because of the refrigerators that most of the families have today, we can store
our foods in a long period of time.

3. What does it mean that Science is a concerted human effort to have a better understanding of the
natural world and how it works, provide real life examples to support this definition of Science.

We know for a fact that the formation of the solar system had changed from time to time before.
Many scientists, mathematicians, and philosophers shared their idea on this matter. The scientific
knowledge that they contribute and the technologies that helped the studwy led us to our
understanding today on what is really the true formation of our solar system.

4. How is Science used in Technology?

Science has paved the way for the advent of technology in the world. Because of science,
technologies are made. Scientific knowledge serves as a source of ideas which is used to create new
technologies. The technology is the application of scientific knowledge to make or invent devices
that solve problems and carry out activities that advance the society. Moreover, some technologies
enable scientists to study and produce new discoveries.

5. In what era in history, Science and Technology was given much attention and was even given
judicial opportunities.

Science and Technology was given much attention and was even given judicial opportunities during
the Post Commonwealth-Era.
