Period 2: Lesson 1: Getting Started - A special day


A. Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students can use the lexical items related to the school
things to talk about school activities.
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson,Ss will be able to improve their
pronunciation the sounds /əʊ/ and/ʌ /in isolation and in context.
2. Skills: Practice and develop writing skill, listening and pronunciation.
- Living skill: Ss know more about things in English in their new school.
+ Pronouce correctly the sounds / əʊ / and / ʌ/ in isolation and in context. Use the
combinations : to study, to have, to do, to play + Noun.
3. Attitude: Educate students to choose the usefuf describing school activities.
* Capacity development: Community based, Cooperation.
B. Language focus:
- Vocabularies: T provides Ss with words related to the subjects in the school.
- Pronunciation: Helps sts how to pronounce / əʊ / and / ʌ /…….
C. Teaching aids: Course book, CD player, picture.
D. Procedures:
1. Warm up:
- T. hangs the picture (on Page 6) and write the title on the board “A special day”.
- T. explains the meaning of “special” and asks Ss to guess what the picture might
show or what the conversation might be about.
- Then check their answers.
- Ss look at the picture and guess what the picture might show about and what the
conversation might be about.
T. asks Ss some questions about the picture.
T: What is Phong doing?
St1: Phong is having breakfast.
T: Who are Vy and Duy?
St2: …………………
T; Why is it a special day?
2. Presentation
I. Pre teach Vocabulary.

3. Practice:
I. Listen and read

- Asking Ss to share answers before discussing as a class.

poem aloud.

III. Match the words with the school things. Then listen and repeat.
-Asking Ss to match the words with the school things on P 7.

4. Production: What other things do you have in your class?

1. Objectives
- Chưa liệt kê đầy đủ những mục tiêu mà giáo viên mong muốn học sinh cần đạt được sau
khi kết thúc bài học. Cụ thể, giáo án thiếu phần Attribute (phẩm chất) để hướng đến việc
phát triển Competence (năng lực) mà học sinh cần đạt được qua bài học.
2. Language fous
- Key terms/ Vocabulary: chưa liệt kê các khái niệm, từ vựng được cho là quan trọng và
cần thiết mà được đề cập trong bài dạy.
- Key grammatical structure(s): Chưa liệt kê các chủ điểm ngữ pháp, cấu trúc ngôn ngữ
được cho là quan trọng và cần thiết mà được đề cập trong bài dạy.
3. Những điểm chưa phù hợp khác
- Giáo viên chưa liệt kê ra những minh chứng để đánh giá mục tiêu đạt được gồm:
+ Nhiệm vụ thực hiện gì,
+ Sản phẩm hay hành vi của nhiệm vụ đó là gì,
+ Công cụ và phương thức để đánh giá sản phẩm hay hành vi đó là gì.
- Giáo viên chưa liệt kê những hoạt động dạy học mà giáo viên dự kiến thực hiện theo
trình tự một cách logic để đạt được mục đích mong muốn.
- Sau quá trình học những điểm chưa phù hợp trong giáo án ban đầu là không phát
triển được sự kết hợp các kỹ năng. Không có sự lồng ghép các kỹ năng phát triển
năng lực. Trong giáo án theo chương trình GDPT
- Quá trình dạy học nhiệm vụ: trong khi và sau khi tiến hành nhiệm vụ (ví dụ
như một bài thuyết trình, một bài khảo sát lấy ý kiến, một buổi tranh
biện…), giáo viên và học sinh có thể sử dụng nhiều kỹ năng khác nhau (như
nghe, đọc tài liệu trong quá trình chuẩn bị; nói, viết, nghe trong quá trình tiến
hành nhiệm vụ; và nói, hay viết báo cáo sau khi hoàn thành nhiệm vụ).
Dạy học tích hợp nội dung: Thông qua việc tiếp nhận nội dung (ở đây được
hiểu là các kiến thức thuộc các chuyên ngành khác nhau như vật lý, địa lý,
toán học v.v.) bằng tiếng Anh, người học cũng có thể tiếp nhận đồng thời cả
kiến thức và ngôn ngữ. Cũng giống như đường hướng dạy học theo nhiệm vụ,
đây cũng là hình thức cho phép người dạy và người học kết hợp nhiều kỹ
năng trong quá trình học nhằm tiếp thu và thực hành những nội dung nói trên
một cách hiệu quả nhất.
Như vậy ở các giáo án trước có sự tách biệt giữa các kỹ năng riêng. Còn giáo
án theo chương trình mới có sự kết hợp các kỹ năng trong bài dạy giúp HS
phát triển toàn diện.

2. identify the specific information through reading and listening to the conversation;

5. recognize the joy of schooling (having new friends, new school things, new uniform ,
…).

STAGE 3: LEARNING EXPERIENCE


Activity 1: Listening and reading
Write the unit title My New School on the board.
Ask students to guess what they are going to learn in this unit.
Elicit the answers from students. Encourage them to talk about their preparation for new
school year, their school, new teachers, new friends.
Have students look at the situation picture on page 6 in the textbook - Tieng Anh 6.
Ask them the following questions about the picture and confirm the correct answers.
Who are the children? (Phong, Vy and Duy)
Who are Vy and Duy?
(They are the boy and the girls who are wearing uniform and school bags) 3. Who is Duy?
(He is Vy’s new friend.) 4. Where are they?

What are they talking about?
(preparation for the new school year, their new school, the first day at school, a new

Play the recording twice for students to listen and read along.
Have students underline the words that are related to the topic of the unit while they are
listening and reading.
Call on some groups of students to read the conversation aloud.
Ask students what exactly Vy, Phong and Duy are talking about.
Elicit students’ answers and give constructive feedback.

Vy introduces her new friend, Duy. Then they talk about their new school and their first
day at school.
Activity 2: Reading
Ask students to read the statements carefully, underline the key words, locate the
information, tick True or False.
Have students compare their answers with their partners.
