What is Quality Control (QC)?
7

 Evaluation of test data and its application

 To the control of textile process, raw materials, intermediate products and
final products.
 QC is technique known as an industrial management technique by means
of which product of uniform acceptable quality is manufactured.
 However, neither TT or QC alone can serve fully the textile technician, the
mill, or the industry, but together they form a very strong team with
dynamic possibilities.
 Testing provides the background and data, and QC applies the results.

Testing Methods
 Aimed at testing the quality of different materials.
 Different principles and instruments are employed to test a single sample criterion.
 Hence, it is important to standardize the testing methods or procedure.
 Organizations involved in developing textile testing standards includes the following:
 SON : Standard Organization of Nigeria.
 ASTM: American Society of Testing & Materials.
 ISO: International Organization for Standardization.
 BSI: British Standards Institute.
 BIS: Bureau of Indian Standards.
 AATCC: American Association of Textile Chemists & Colorants.
 Among others.
