HON. DOMINADOR AGULLO

Brgy. IATF Chairman
Brgy. Camote, Dulag, Leyte

Sir:

Good day!

In the wake of COVID-19 pandemics, schools across the country face overwhelming challenges and
difficult decisions in ensuring that learning continues to happen for our learners. Learning in the middle of
pandemics can be challenging, and this may result in varying levels of progress and achievement.

Based on the result of 2nd quarter reading assessment, it was reported that there are still struggling readers
in higher grades as shown in the table below:

Grade Level Number of Struggling Readers

3 6
4 12
5 10
6 5
Total 33

These learners are all beneficiaries of ProFuturo Solution. Hence, the school developed an innovation
project Create Readers Amidst Pandemic Via Integration of ProFuturo Solution (CRAP VIPS) in order that
these struggling readers be motivated to read using technology.

Through this innovation project CRAP VIPS, our school is looking forward in addressing this gap despite
the pandemic we are facing. We will be inviting our learners to come to school via face-to-face twice a week for 2
hours in 2 batches for the implementation of the project since ProFuturo devices can be used only in school. 1 st
batch will report in the morning and the 2 nd batch in the afternoon. Rest assured that we will observe minimum
public health standards and stringent physical distancing measures consistent with existing rules and regulations set
forth by the local IATF. The school will provide them facemask and face shield as part of the protocol included the
parents.

Thus, San Rafael ES teaching staff would like to seek an approval on the implementation of project CRAP
VIPS through face-to-face in order to deliver reading instructions to these struggling readers using technology.

Respectfully yours,

MA. CRISTINA A. SERVANDO

School Head

I. Title: Create Readers Amidst Pandemic Via Integration of ProFuturo Solution (CRAP VIPS)

II. Location: San Rafael Elementary School, Dulag North District

III. Duration: May 2021 – July 2021

IV. Problem/Issues to be addressed:

Based on the result of 2nd quarter reading assessment in English, it was reported that
there are still struggling readers in higher grades as shown in the table below:

Grade Level Number of Struggling Readers

3 6
4 12
5 10
6 5
Total 33

These learners are also beneficiaries of ProFuturo Solutions. Hence, the school has
developed an innovation with the use of technology via ProFuturo devices to motivate beneficiaries
to read.

V. Rationale:

Reading is much essential for a child progress and success. Every child has a right to learn
to read even during pandemic and every child requires literacy skills to open up life choices and
opportunities.
The department of education values the impact of reading through “Every Child A Reader
Program” (ECARP) and the newly 3B’s “Bawat Bata ay Bumabasa” addresses the thrust of the
DepEd to make every Filipino a reader at his/her own level.
To address DepEd’s thrust, the school must adapt integration of technology to augment
learners' needs and be motivated. Many technology learning resources are adaptive and self-paced,
meaning they respond to input from users to guide the learners to the most effective learning
pathway. We know that technology is a way of meeting learners where they are. It is so effective
because today's learners use it so much in their personal lives that it is familiar and comfortable.
Many students find technology more engaging and motivating. Paper-based learning is slowly
becoming obsolete. Since these learners are also beneficiaries of ProFuturo Solutions we come up
with this kind of innovation via Integration of ProFuturo Solution.
VI. Specific Objectives:
1. To improve the reading level of 33 identified struggling readers to instruction or
independent readers.
2. To operate the digital education of ProFuturo solution.
3. To appreciate the importance of reading via digital education amidst pandemic.
