1 Introduction
Welcome to Knowledge Gate, the platform for the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO
14001:2015 training and examination, which can also be used for other standards.
This guide is intended for users of the TÜV Rheinland Training System in the role of
participants.

In order to accede to the training you need internet access and the browsers „Firefox“
or “Explorer“. Details on software requirements follow below.

2 Registry / Access codes

Maybe you have received your access code already, because the application has
been done for you centrally.

If not, to receive your access codes you have to complete your data in an excel sheet
(Figure 1) which has been circulated under the name “ Knowledge Gate_Registration
list_template_20150309.xlsx “. The sheet with access code application then shall be
sent to:

3 Codes received, next step

Once Ms. Strumberger receives the access application she will send you your
personal access data within one or two days (see Figure 2).

This mail also contains the configuration-link to check if your PC fulfills all necessary
technical requirements:

Please do this check before first login. If all is green, you can go ahead with the login
(see next point).

Attention!
It is all small letters (no capital letters) and the address has to be typed manually, as
the copy and paste function does not work.

5 After successful login: the start page

After successful login you are automatically directed to the Knowledge Gate start
page (Figure 4). Here you find „Netiquette“; „My contacts“; „Forum articles“ and
„News“

6 Configurate your personal profile

Please complete the profile information. For this, select „Profile“ at the top right. Once
the page opens (Figure 5) you can select the following 4 sub points:

i. Personal data:
Here you can introduce personal data and a picture, change the
password and the language. The eye symbol allows to make the
data public. Those marked with a star are obligatory and have to be
completed. Attention! Don´t forget to save the new information.

ii. Contact data:

You can introduce contact data here. Again, those marked with a
star are obligatory fields. Attention! Don´t forget to save the new
information.

iii. Settings:
You can select to receive a newsletter, activate instant messenger
and notifications. Attention! Don´t forget to save the new information.

iv. Training history:

You find your personal training history here

You get an overview of all your trainings and seminars (Figure 6).

Now you can start your training to qualify for the new standard revision. We will take
ISO 9001 as an example. Here you can chose between the videocast and the
handout (Figure 7). If you have decided to begin with the videocast, which is
subdivided into chapters (Figure 8) you select by mouseclick the playmode (blue
circle with white triangle) chapter by chapter. A new window opens and you can view
the video (Figure 9). You can view each video as often as you like. The time spent
on the video can be viewed under „History“ (Figure 10).

8 Documents / Reports

Documents: Here you can find important additional documents for relevant standard
like the delta checklist, revised procedures, new audit reports and audit plan, etc.
Regarding the exam, which can only be taken in English, it is possible to file here a
bilingual version of the audit questions and answers. Please contact your locally
responsible person if you require a translation (Figure 11).

9 Test / Exam
Once you have done all training and feel fit for the exam you can present yourself to
the test. Again, we use ISO 9001 as example. Go to „My Channels“. Choose the
correct channel. The last position is „Exam-Questions ISO 9001:2015“ (Figure 12).

A new window openes (Figure 13). Press „Start“ and begin the test. There will be 20
questions. Take your time selecting the correct answer. If you answer correctly 17
questions, you have passed. You can then print and/or download your result. If you
have not passed you can try again. Once your qualification has been activated in
ZQB Basic data (please, allow aprox. 2 weeks for this) you can carry out audits
according to the new version of the standard. In the unlikely case of relevant changes
between FDIS and published standard, there will be an update training on these
changes.

If you select „Forum“ you will find different divisions (Figure 14).

Under „Alle Foren“ you also find the channels. Please choose the group here. Again,
we take the ISO 9001 as an example.
There are three options (Figure 15).

 New topic = you can introduce your own input here (new window pops up)
 Aktionen = you can subscribe or unsubscribe to notifications the different topics.
 Themen suchen = here you can look for topics

12 Calendar
Under „Calendar“ you can set up your individual training planning with reminder
options and an day, week or month overview (Figure 17).

- „Options“ allows you to activate the reminder function

- "My learning plan" opens a drop-down-menue which allows to coordinate the

training planning of the different areas

- With "New appointment“ you can create individual inputs into the calendar.
