1. Using the Venn diagram below, compare and contrast the characteristics of primary
and secondary source materials. Give an explanation for the overlapping characteristics
on the space provided.

Secondary
As seen in the Venn diagram, primary and secondary sources have overlapping concepts
which means they both have something in common. They may be written in a different
time but both primary and secondary sources serve as a provider of information. They
both cover a wide variety of topics which provides people knowledge and data. These
sources can also be used as references for research purposes since they both can be
scholarly works. In general, both primary and secondary sources are used as reliable basis
of information that anyone can benefit from. Sources are good for gaining a full overview
of your topic and understanding how other researchers have approached it. They often
synthesize a large number of primary sources that would be difficult and time-consuming
to gather by yourself.
