Grade: Grade 4

Responsible to: T103/F13

Job Objective: To provide a wide range of clerical, administrative,


technical and financial support to operational
services.

Key Responsibilities

1. To work to defined business standards and processes, performing a wide range


of business support tasks with due regard to confidentiality and safeguarding,
and in accordance with timescales and all relevant Council Policies.

2. To provide advice and guidance to customers, business partners and others on


business processes and operational service issues and produce reporting
information for internal and external stakeholders.

3. To create, manage and manipulate information whether relating to finance,


staffing information, customers or any other service requirement or eligibility
criteria; this will include producing bespoke reports and statistical information.

4. To provide a confidential secretarial support service for Directors, Heads of


Service and others in the directorate(s) as required.

5. To undertake a range of financial support processes, processing orders,


resolving issues, responding to first line debtor enquiries, reporting and handling
cash, cheques and taking telephone payments.

6. Responsible for the organisation of meetings and events including booking


venues, issuing invitations and papers and taking minutes/actions arising.

7. To assist the Business Support PA team as required.

8. To meet and greet visitors, provide direction and give advice and guidance to
enquiries. To respond to personal emails and telephone enquiries to resolve and
or redirect as appropriate.
9. To carry out any other duties within the scope and grade of the post relating to
the responsibilities of the Business Support Team and other sections of the
directorates as necessary.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Where applicable: Duties may include attendance at evening meetings and/or
work outside normal office hours.

This post is subject to exemption with reference to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
1974.
