Boba culture started in late 80s. Two teahouse in Taiwan claimed
to have invented boba tea in the 1980s. One is Chun Shui Tang
teahouse and the other one is the Hanlin Teahouse in Tainan, But
the most accepted origin is at The Chun Shui Tang Teahouse in
Taichung founded by Lui Han Chieh.

He first came up with the idea of serving Chinese tea cold in early
80s after visiting Japan where he saw coffee served cold. Then in
1988 his product development manager Ms. Lin Hsiu Hui poured
her sweetened Tapioca pudding in her Ice tea for fun, but
everyone loved the drink and quickly outsold it.

Milk tea was already well known in taiwan, as tea drinking was a
robust practice in East Asia. The tea became known as boba
beause the term is slang for breasts in Chinese (a reference that
spherical shape of tapioca balls). Boba evolved overtime grew
more widespread throughout Taiwan. The toppings choices also
expanded beyond tapioca to include elements like grass jelly,
almond jelly, egg pudding, and red beans.

Problem
Plastic pollution causes harm to humans, animals, and
plants through toxic pollutants. The main problem
with plastic pollution is the damages that it can cause
to marine species. They ingest or were entangled by
plastic debris which causes severe injuries and
deaths.

Solution
To start using using more paper packaging as it is easy
to be decomposed compared to plastic products, less
plastic is equal to less harm not just for marine life but
to everyone. Our business will try its best to spread
awareness how plastic can damage the ecosystem
and hopefully we can inspire other businesses too.
