Chapter 5 ︱”Ako yung nauna, pero siya ang wakas”

And that’s how this happened.

Jimin, waiting for Yoongi to come and choose him and tell him na hindi niya
sinasadya ‘yon. Na handa siyang patawarin si Yoongi sa lahat.

Moments later, a shadow blocked the lights from the sun and when he looked
up, it’s him, it’s Yoongi. And he’s here. Yoongi chose him. He’s going with him,
except that…

“Jimin.” Yoongi calls out to him. He stood up so they can look at each other.

But Yoongi doesn’t have his things with him.

“Where’s your bags, baby? Bakit sarili mo lang ang dala mo? ” he chuckles
dryly.

Tears started to brim his eyes, Yoongi feels hurt for doing this to him.

“I’m sorry.” He said voice full of regret and hurt.

Jimin, he can’t speak. He doesn’t say anything, so he just listens.

“I’m sorry, Jimin…”

“I’m sorry, napagod ako. I’m sorry, nawala ako. Hindi ko agad nasabi sayo
kasi… natakot akong mawala ka. Naging makasarili akong angkinin ka, kahit
na hindi na ikaw ang hanap ko.”

Jimin starts to cry silently too. He doesn’t avert his eyes on him because he
wants to listen to him, his explanation.

One deep breath, “Binigay ko lahat…” Two deep breaths, “Binigay ko sa’yo
lahat, naubos lang ako. Naubos yung pagmamahal ko sa’yo.”

“I’m sorry nasaktan kita…” he cries. People around them doesn’t mind. Doesn’t
know that these two souls are about to separate.

And finally, Jimin speaks.

“Sorry…” Yoongi looks at him. “Sorry kung wala ako nung mga panahong
kailangan mo ko.”

One tear. “I’m sorry kasi nagkulang ako…” Two tears. “No, no, Jimin, ako ‘yung
nagkulang sa’yo.”

Jimin cries out his heart in silence. He remembers how they were just fine
yesterday, and now they’re here crying their broken hearts.
“I’m really sorry, Jimin. I do. I loved you, pero hindi na talaga ikaw. ”

“Bakit? Bakit siya? Sa lahat pa ng tao, si Hoseok pa. Bakit, Yoongi? ” the way he
asks him makes his heart clenched in pain. He can’t bear to see him crying.

He moves to Jimin’s space and wipes his tear with his thumb. He caresses his
face and looks at the details. His eyes, his nose, his freckles, his cheeks, his
plump lips. Yoongi remembers it all for the last time.

At kung masaya ka sa piling niya, hindi ko na pipilit pa.

Jimin closes his eyes, he lost already. He lost him, and he can do is to…

“I’m letting you go.” He opens his eyes and looks at him. He will never forget
those feline cat eyes that once looked at him with fondness.

“I’m forgiving you.” He will never forget those pouted lips that once told him
“I love you”.

“Pinapaubaya na kita sa kanya.” He will surely, truly, deeply miss him.

“You know I loved you, right?”

“I know. I love you, too.” Tears flow through their eyes again as they lean their
foreheads. God knows how much they gave their efforts and fought together in
this battle.
Sinubukan nila itong ilaban ng sabay, kaya naman sabay rin silang bibitaw.

“Thank you for everything, Yoongi. Thank you for all the memories you gave
to me. Hindi ‘man natin nagawa yung mga pangarap natin, gusto kong tuparin
niyo ‘yon. Tuparin mo pa rin ng kasama siya. I’m already happy na nakasama
kita, hinayaan mo kong mahalin ka. Masaya na akong masaya ka.”

“Jimin, gusto kong maging masaya ka rin. Kung aalis ka, I want you to be
happy. I want you to find your happiness there. I want you to heal from
everything. And if destiny finds us again, if it’s still us, still you and me, I’ll
come back for you. For now, let’s choose what’s best for us.”

Jimin nods, and another wave of tears flows. “Thank you.” Jimin says.

“Thank you.” Yoongi kisses his forehead.

“I have to… Take care of yourself, Yoongi.” Muling humikbi si Jimin at nagpigil
ng luha, masyado na siyang maraming niluha.

“I need to…” just about Jimin says that, the announcer tells all the passengers
to board now.

Yoongi gets his message and let go of him. With both one hand still holding
onto each other, Jimin reaches for his things.
"You're still going?" Yoongi asks him.

"Yeah. Sayang naman kung hindi ako tutuloy."

"Kaya mo ba?"

Kaya ko nga ba?

"Kakayanin, kakayanin ko." they both laugh.

So, this is the end.

Mahirap labanan ang tinadhana…

Slowly, Jimin walks away from him. Slowly, their clasped hands are
separating. Little by little, they let go of each other.

Yoongi watches Jimin move away from him. Sabay nilang binitawan ang isa’t
isa, pati ang kanilang mga pangarap.

Jimin continues to walk without looking back, afraid he might stay. He has to
heal first and he has hope on their promise that if destiny is still in favor of
them, they will meet again.
