TS ICET ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA


The eligibility criteria of TS ICET is prescribed by the official exam conduct-
ing body- Telangana State Council for Higher Education. A candidate with
a graduation degree can apply for the test before the application deadline
after checking the eligibility. The different aspects of TS ICET eligibility cri-
teria are given below:

1. The candidates should be Indian nationals and should satisfy local/non-


local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational
Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974.
2. There is no age limit prescribed to apply for TS ICET 2018 examination.
3. Candidates seeking admission to MBA course should have a recognized
Bachelors Degree Examination of minimum three years duration (except
Oriental Languages).
4. A minimum aggregate marks of 50% is required in graduation. For
reserved category candidates, it should be 45%.
5. The qualifying Degree obtained by Distance Mode Program should have
recognition by joint committee of UGC, AICTE and DEC/DEB.
6. Candidates appearing for the final year degree examination will also be
eligible to appear for TS ICET 2018.
7. Qualifying marks in TS ICET 2018 is 25% (i.e. 50 marks out of 200) and no
minimum marks are prescribed for SC/ST candidates. Mere qualification
in the entrance test does not entitle a candidate to have been admitted
into MBA course unless the candidate:
i) appears for counselling at the notified centres
ii) applies in response to the admission notification issued by the author-
ity concerned (for part-time/evening/distance mode)
iii) satisfies all the eligibility criteria for admission as stipulated by the
authority concerned

TS ICET APPLICATION FORM


The process of filling the TS ICET 2018 application form is completely online.
Candidates can apply by registering as a new user on the official website.
In case the candidates register after the deadline, they have to pay a late
fee, which might exceed Rs. 10,000 (depending on the number of late days).
Once the fee is paid and details have been entered, the candidates will have
to upload passport size coloured photograph and signature.

How to fill TS ICET Application Form 2018?


The application form of TS ICET 2018 can be filled only online on the offi-
cial website of TS ICET. Filling the application form basically involves three
steps.
Step 1- Pay the registration fee. The TS ICET 2018 application form fee
will have to be paid in advance through online mode only. Once the fee has
been submitted and an acknowledgement received, candidates can start
filling the application form.

TS ICET HALL TICKET


The hall ticket for TS ICET 2018 is scheduled to be available for download
from May 7, 2018, onwards till the day of the exam only in online mode on
the official TS ICET website.

How to download TS ICET Hall Ticket?


Candidates must visit the official website and log in through their registration
ID and date of birth in DD/MM/YY format. Only the registered candidates
can download and take a printout of the TS ICET admit card.

TS ICET ANSWER KEY


The answer key to TS ICET will be available in online mode on the official
website of TS ICET and can be downloaded in PDF format. Two answer keys
to the TS ICET Exam will be released-

1. Preliminary Answer Key – May 27, 2018


The preliminary answer key of TS ICET consisting of prescribed answers
to the questions is released before the exam result. Candidates can cross-
check the answers marked by them using this key. If the candidates find any
discrepancies in the answers provided by the exam authorities, they could
challenge the preliminary answer key by submitting objections to the Con-
venor of TS ICET 2018. Based on the objections received, the concerned
exam authorities will revise and release the final answer key on June 6, 2018.

2. Final Answer Key – June 6, 2018


The final answer key to TS ICET will be released on the day of the announce-
ment of result. No objection will be entertained after the release of final
answer key.

TS ICET 2018 Result along with the final answer key will be declared on June
6, 2018 in online mode.

How to check TS ICET Result:

●● Download the scorecard in PDF format and take print out.

As per the marks obtained, the candidates will be given State-wise ranks.
The rank obtained in TS ICET 2018 is valid for admission into MBA Course
(Full Time / Part Time / Evening / Distance Mode) of all universities in Tel-
angana State.

After the announcement of the results, candidates will be further shortlisted


based on the cutoff released by the participating institutes. A merit list will be
released containing the names, scores and ranks of successful candidates
will be then generated.

TS ICET CUTOFF
TS ICET cutoff of is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to
score to be eligible for the admission process in MBA schools of (TSCHE).
TS ICET cutoff 2018 will be released by the participating institutes soon after
the announcement of results in the second week of June 2018.

Important Points to be Considered for TS ICET Cutoff-


●● Each participating institute will issue its own cutoff based on their admission
policies.
●● A number of factors determine TS ICET cutoff preparation, such as:
a. Previous year cutoff marks/ranks
b. Marking scheme of TS ICET 2018
c. Difficulty level of the examination
d. Number of exam takers
e. Availability of seats
f. Lowest and average scores in the exam post announcement of results
g. Reservation of seats for various categories
h. Overall performance of candidates in the exam
●● Based on the trends from last year, this year’s cutoff is likely to be 50 out of 200
marks.
●● The counselling process will be based on the cutoff released. The ranks shared
in the cutoff will decide if candidates are eligible for the counselling and other
admission formalities.

TS ICET COUNSELLING
The counselling for TS ICET will commence around the first week of July
after the announcement of the results. The eligibility of candidates for the
counselling rounds is decided by cutoff ranks acquired by them according
to their performance in the MBA entrance exam.

Stages of TS ICET Counselling 2018


The counselling is conducted in four stages.
●● Document verification
●● Option entry
●● Seat allotment
●● Payment of fees and self-reporting

The stages of counselling are explained in details below.

Stage 1: Document verification


Candidates need to attend the document verification in person at the help
centres prescribed by the examination authority. During document verifica-
tion, the Aadhaar card details will be verified. The processing fee is Rs.1,000
for general candidates, while it is Rs 500 for SC/ ST candidates. This fee has
to be paid at the time of document verification at the help centre.

All original certificates and 2 sets of Xerox copies of the following are needed
to complete the verification process:

Forces Personnel (CAP)/ Sports and Games/ Minority certificate, if applicable.
●● Residence certificate of either of parents in Telangana for a period of 10 years in
case of Non-local candidates.
●● Residence certificate of candidates for a period of 7 years preceding to qualify-
ing examination in case where the candidate has no institutionalised education.

PH (Physically Handicapped), CAP (Children of Armed Personnel), Anglo-


Indian, Sports & Games, NCC (National Cadet Corps) should attend for
Certificate Verification only at Sankethika Vidya Bhavan, Masab Tank,
Hyderabad, as per the dates given in the Schedule.

Category-wise certificates required for TS ICET

Candidates belonging to various categories have to present the relevant
certificates related to their category as part of the document verification
process:

●● PH – Relevant certificate issued by the District Medical Board having disability


more than or equal to 40 per cent.
●● CAP – Necessary Certificate issued by Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer. In case of Ex-
Servicemen, identity card and service discharge book is required for complete
verification. Domicile candidates of Telangana or those with domicile certificate
of their parents are eligible to apply.
●● NCC & Sports – Original certificates issued by competent authorities
●● Minorities – SSC 'TC' must have Minority Status or Certificate from the Head
Master
●● Anglo-Indian – Certificate issued by competent authority of their place of resi-
dence

Registration for document verification


The registration process to carry out the entire document verification is as
follows:

●● Candidates have to wait for the announcement from the authorities of the helpline

centres for registration.


●● Candidates have to hand over their rank card to the officer at the entrance, collect
the information form and fill up the details.
●● Candidates will be called for biometric verification as per their ranks, pay the
processing fee, submit the mobile number and Aadhaar number. Following this,
they will be given a receipt from the help-line centre.
●● Candidates have to enter their admit card number, rank in the register and sign it.
●● With this, the registration is completed. Candidates have to collect their registra-
tion-cum-verification form from the computer Operator.
●● Verify the details and proceed to the verification counter for certificate verification.

Stage 2: Option entry


Once the document verification is successful, candidates can proceed to
option entry. Exercising options is basically the selection of colleges where
they wish to join. Candidates are advised to go through the college profile,
availability of courses, duration of the course, job prospects before exercis-
ing their options. This action can be performed online (web-based counsel-
ling). The procedure of option entry is explained here:

●● Candidates have to generate the password. For this, click on the ‘Candidates
registration’ tab to generate the password. Enter details like ROC form number,
TS ICET admit card number, rank and date of birth.
●● After completing the registration and generating the password, click on candi-
dates login for exercising the options.
●● Now enter login ID, hall ticket number, password and date of birth and click on
‘Sign in’
●● Select one or more districts for display of college in those districts
●● Click on ‘Display Option Entry form’
●● The university colleges, girls’ colleges, and minority institutions are displayed in
different colours.
●● Candidates have to enter admit card number
●● Enter the option numbers in the boxes on the screen against the colleges
●● Click on save options at regular intervals.
●● After entry of options, click on logout button

Stage 3: Seat allotment


The allotments will be processed as per merit, category, gender, local area,

special reservation. To download the allotment order, candidates have to


enter the login ID number, Hall ticket number, password and Date of Birth.

Stage 4: Fee payment and self-reporting


Candidates have to pay the requisite fee to accept his/her allotment through
self-reporting system. They have to click on accept my joining. Following
this, joining report containing the admission number is generated. Candi-
dates have to take its printout and submit along with the allotment order at
the defined college.

Process of cancellation of seat


If candidates want to withdraw or cancel the allotted seat, at the end of
the Counselling process, they can do so before a stipulated date. For this,
candidates have to approach the Convener in person or by registered post
and have to submit the following documents-

●● Duly filled in application for cancellation of allotted seat


●● Original receipt of certificates issued at the time of certificate verification at hel-
pline centre
●● Latest provisional allotment order
●● Receipt of fee payment
●● Request letter for cancellation of allotted seat by the candidate.

TS ICET ANALYSIS 2017 –


MODERATE LEVEL TEST WITH TOUGH
MATHEMATICAL ABILITY SECTION
TS ICET 2017 or Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test had
been conducted on May 18, 2017 across 16 cities of Telangana. According
to the TS ICET 2017 analysis done by T.I.M.E. experts, the overall difficulty
level was termed as easy to moderate. As per the analysis, Mathematical
Ability was the toughest section. Before going for the detailed analysis, let
us take a look at the paper pattern and structure of TS ICET 2017.

TS ICET 2017 Analysis for Analytical Ability


This section was further divided into three areas - Data Sufficiency, Data
Analysis and Reasoning. Let’s start with Data Sufficiency.

Data Sufficiency
Majority of the questions from this section were on Numbers and Plane
Geometry-Mensuration. There were 11 questions from these two topics.
Other questions were from Averages, Ratio, CI, Time & Distance, Percent-
ages and Trigonometry. The difficulty level of Data Sufficiency area was easy.

Data Analysis
This part had two sets of Data Interpretation based on table and pie chart.
Each set was followed by five questions. Both sets and questions were easy
and was not calculation intensive.

Reasoning – Problem Solving, Coding-Decoding and Date,


Time and Arrangement
There were 45 questions under this section from topics including one ques-
tion on time and distance, one on functions and one on numbers. There
were 20 questions based on series and analogies – 10 on series and 10 on
analogies. There were five odd man out questions.

split into two parts - One set of five questions based on logic of [(5k+2) / 26]
and another set of five individual questions. This set of five questions was of
easy – moderate difficulty level. The questions on clocks & calendar, arrival

& departure, blood relations, symbols and notations, seating arrangement


were of easy-moderate difficulty level.”
This section was of easy-moderate level of difficulty. The sectional cutoff is
expected to range from 33 to 35 out of 45.

Mathematical Ability
This section was the toughest in the paper. While Arithmetic Ability ques-
tions were on the easier lines, the questions on Algebraical & Geometrical
Ability were difficult were tough. While few questions were formula based, a
lot of them required conceptual clarity and application.

T.I.M.E. experts had identified erroneous questions in this section. The


experts mentioned, “In the question on rank correlation, if the given data is
considered and ranks assigned to them, the answer that we get (15/16) is
not present in choices.”
1. In another question on Mean, the correct answer is 5050/67. But only
5050 is given in the option.
2. For the problem from Coordinate Geometry, where the vertices are given
and we need to find equation of line parallel to median, the correct answer
is 2x+9y-11 =0, which is not present in the given options.”

Communication Ability
The section was a mix of questions from topics like Vocabulary, State-
ment/Conversation, Grammar and Reading Comprehension. There were
six vocabulary questions on Synonym-Antonyms, which were moderate to
tough in nature. Fill in the blanks questions were on the easier lines.

There were seven questions on Statement/Conversation of moderate to


tough level of difficulty. Questions on active-passive conversation was
tough. There were three RC passages carrying 15 questions in total. Overall,
the questions were of easy to moderate difficulty level.

Experts predicted that paper wouldl be a low scoring one because of the
higher difficulty level of Mathematical Ability section and Vocabulary and
Statements-Conversations part of the English Section.
