1. Ensure that WPS is approved and welders are
qualified in accordance with procedures.

2. Obtain work permit before commencement of work


activities.

3. Ensure that the lines have been isolated and


flush/purge have been completed by SAUDI ARAMCO
UGP Operations.

4. Prior to any welding works, ensure that no hazardous


or combustible gas present inside the existing pipeline.

5. Conduct the cold cut to the existing pipeline at tie-in


locations as shown in the attached drawings. Clean and
re-bevel the existing pipeline and fit-up new piping
spools. Ensure that orientations are located as per the
drawings.

6. Weld the joints in accordance with the approved


WPS and install valve, spectacle flange using new
gasket, bolts and nuts.

7. All NDE requirements have been completed

8. Perform the inspection with SAUDI ARAMCO.

9. Repair and touch-up the field weld joints.

10. Clear up all disposable materials from the work site


prior to handover.

11. Clean the Tie-in location prior to turnover to SAUDI


ARAMCO.

Reinforcing pad material shall be of the same pipe material unless SAES-L-350,

Reinforcement pad and saddles shall meet the following requirements:


a. Multiple segment pad or saddles are attached by full
penetration welds. (ASME B31.3 Section 328.5.4g)
b. Each segment has 1 vent hole (ASME B31.3 Section 328.5.4g)

Fabricated pipe spool for tie-in connections shall be marked with the

A Preparatory Tie-In Requirements

The following minimum requirements have been met for preparation:


A) Tie-In Procedure & Package has been approved.
B) Tie-In matls & tools are all on site, properly segregated from other Sch Q, Att. VI
matl's, visually inspected, with pre-tests completed as required. Note 1: Table
A1 Tie-In Matl's shall be uniquely marked & identified per Tie-In. Special Process
Note 2: Small segments (repads, small piping pieces, etc) shall bear a Tie-Ins
unique ID (Heat number or other matl ID number) traceable to their (Procedure)
material test certificates. Complete Traceability shall be maintained.
Discard or quarantine untraceable matls to prevent their use.

acceptable to the Authorized Saudi Aramco Welding Inspector.

A) Exact tie-in is marked using an approved marking method. IFC Drawing &
B) Any cut lines shall be layed out & checked by Inspection. Procedure,

C) Any new weld (cut line) shall be located following Saudi Aramco SAEP-311,
encroachment rules (SAES-W-011, Par 11.16). See Attachment 1 Para. 5..4
D) Cutting method & Safety Precautions for cutting into existing systems
is detailed in package (cold cut, hot work, precautions,etc)
Work Permits and Package are located at the site (control work).

Inspect and determine the minimum pipe wall thickness at the tie-in

B2 weld areas by a continuous UT scan along the lines to be welded and

If welding does not begin within Sixty (60) days of the initial UT thickness
exam, the weld area wall thickness shall be re-examined. Procedure
