Indoor air quality (IAQ) refers to the air quality within
and around interior spaces, especially as it relates to
the health and comfort of occupants.
Historically, indoor air quality has focused on
understanding and controlling common pollutants to
help reduce the risk of indoor health concerns. In
addition, health effects from indoor air pollutants can
be felt immediately or years later depending on the
type and level of exposure to the pollutant. The major
concerns with these pollutants are that they may or
