Introduction: Solid waste is unwanted and thrown off material resulting from day to day
activities in the community. Solid waste management may be defined as the discipline
associated with the control of generation, storage, collection, transfer, processing and disposal
of solid waste.

Project Objectives:
This project aims to carry out study on the practices of solid waste management adopted by
South Delhi Municipal Corporation, the problems faced by it and possible solutions for it.

Project Approach:
Understanding various practices adopted by SDMC, problems face in segregation of waste, etc.. and
collect data by various sources and then working out various innovative solutions to Solid waste
Management.

Why we want to do this project:


As recently Swach Sarvekshan Report 2020 given by Government of India, SDMC has been ranked
among 31 out of 47 city for best cleanliness rankings. We as concerned citizens want to make our city
number one in cleanliness.
