1. One week ago I woke up very early because I had to leave for work at 8 o’clock.

I took a
shower, I shaved and I left home very quickly. I didn’t eat anything because I didn’t have the
time. When I arrived (got) to the office, I noticed that nobody else was there. I knew that the
meeting was starting at 8 o’clock so I waited for the others. I was extremely surprised when I
opened the computer and I saw that it was the 8 th of November not the 9th…..
2. Last year, on the 5th of July I was in a holiday in France. I visited a lot of places and I tasted a lot
of traditional foods (cuisine). When we got back to Romania I bought souvenirs and presents
for family and friends.
3. Who helped you finish the project so quickly? No one did. I worked a lot last week because I
wanted to finish in due time.
4. How did you manage to find so much info about this company? I looked up on the internet
and I sent a lot of emails to my friends. They answered very quickly, and the details they gave
me helped me.
5. Last night, when I arrived at home, I was extremely tired. I took a hot bath, than I ate a salad
and drank a glass of wine. I watched a movie and at ten o’clock I went to bed.
6. Last summer was very busy. I didn’t go on a vacation because I had to renovate (paint) the
house. I had o lot of work to do, and when I finished, my car broke and I had to repair it.
7. Who opened you the door? Nobody. I knocked on the door, but no one answered. I tried to
enter and I saw that the door was open.
8. Last week-end a organized a party for my grandmother, who turned 88. I invited a lot of
friends and all our relatives. My mother prepared sandwiches and cakes and I cleaned up the
entire house. Dad went to the supermarket and bought the cake.
9. Yesterday I got home earlier than usually. I listened to music and I watched a documentary on
TV. It was very interesting and I liked it a lot.
10. From where did you buy that car? I bought it from a friend. I knew he wanted to sell it and I
asked him about it. Event it isn’t new, it is very good and it didn’t cost a lot.
11. I started my English course a year ago and I think a learned a lot
12. Yesterday I had a very important meeting. Everyone had to participate. Even if I suggested
postponing it, because I was unable to come, the manager didn’t agree. The meeting started
at 8 o’clock and finished at 8 o’clock. We had only a lunch break.
13. I left home late and I missed the bus. I had to wait for the next one and I got to work late.
