Injured Dog Expected To Recover After
Being Found Tied to a Dumpster on
Detroit’s East Side

Clifford Borlance says it's a miracle
that the dog, Frankie, is still alive. After a
rope was embedded in her neck from being
tied up for so long and left to die. She was
found after the employees went
investigating a break-in at the business.
Rebel Dogs Detroit stepped in to help
Borlace pay for Frankie’s veterinarian bills.
Executive Director, Juniper Fleming, said
Frankie’s story is quite common in Detroit.
“I found her tied up to the dumpster right
here and she was just sitting on a pile of
trash, wagging her tail, just as happy as she
could be. She almost had like a boat rope
that was about an inch and a half tied around
her neck. She had a really bad, almost like
rope burn around her neck. The skin was

growing around the rope,” Clifford Borlace
said.
“People are often utilizing some kind of tool
to restrain an outdoor dog and it can rub and
embed over time into the neck,” Juniper
Fleming said.
The dog Frankies ears were also cropped
“Somebody cropped this dog’s ears. She was
an owned dog. It’s a weird situation.
Definitely. It leaves a lot of questions,”
Fleming said.
Frankie's wounds are still healing, but
Frankie is still hyper and has a very upbeat
personality. Clifford Borlance also plans on
becoming being Frankies forever home.
“I believe we’re going to keep her. I spoke
to my wife and she’s slowly falling in love,”
Clifford Borlance said.
Frankie is expected to make a recovery,
there are still other dogs who are, or used to
be in the same circumstance as Frankie. If

PlayStation Vs Xbox, Which Is Right For
You?

PlayStation Vs. Xbox is a popular gaming
topic that spiked up in 2019 but everyone
says one is better than the other when it is all
up to preference. Before reading make sure
you understand certain technology terms
like RAM. So let’s start with PlayStation,
released on December 3rd 1994, was a
popular gaming console that brought the
world of gaming with the top graphics of
that time. Some pros of the latest
PlayStations 4 and 5 is that they have top
exclusive games, some of the most popular
were PlayStation exclusives. The controller
sticks are near each other on the same
elevation rather than Xbox being diagonal.
The PlayStation has a simple menu screen
and a bunch of buttons on the bottom
making it a very compact look which isn’t
very favorable but makes things easy to find.
Now the cons to PS (Playstation) It’s PS4
graphics surpassed the Xbox but it couldn’t
keep up to the Xbox with storage and RAM.
A big thing would be that you have to pay a
monthly bill to play any online games, well
they both do but here's the difference. You
have to pay a bill to play any type of online
game, while Xbox you can play free online
games without the bill but paid online games
you will need that bill. Another big thing
with the Ps5 and Xbox Series X would be
that the Series X has a noticeable upgrade in
graphics and fps, so much so that It’s
graphics and fps run so much better and
smoother than the Ps5. It was different with
PS4 and Xbox 1 where the roles were
reversed but good for Xbox for upgrading.
Updates and downloads go slower much
more easily, it can be for slow wifi,low
storage, or slow servers, which
aren’t as common in the Xbox
world world

than the PS. Now let’s start with the pros
and cons of Xbox. First thing first is
security. It has a much better security than
the PS5 and 4, on the party system Ps will

secures your info better. Xbox surpasses PS
with It’s free game system, paying $1 a

free, which is 100% worth it.An important
pro to note is that you can transfer your

over console. This is possible because
Windows and Xbox are both owned by

sign? In this article I will tell you how each
zodiac group acts and explain/debunking
stereotypes about them. Zodiac signs were
discovered in 409 and 398 BC and have
been a global phenomenon since then.
The Sign Aries: March 25th - April 19th
Aries are a whole different kind of
personality than any other zodiac. They are
usually food loving, crazy, and emotional
people. The Aries sign was discovered
before any other, and is the 4th rarest zodiac
in the U.S with a percentage of 8.1 as of

Aries sign is one of the most aggressive
signs. Well what are common traits of being
an Aries? Those would be being overly
honest, being self assertive, being creative,

Students Turned Non Perishable Food into
Powder

Everyone knows humans waste too
much food. We waste more than a third of
food produced, GLOBALLY, but did you
know we are also wasting food by throwing
away moldy lettuce, berries, and fruits?
Students in Sweden have figured out a way
to repurpose those moldy fruits, and brown
lettuce by turning it into powder.
These students go to school at Lund
University and are in the “Food Innovation
and Production design program. The group
of students has gotten support from senators
in the Philippines . They want to try and
make it more heard of to countries in need.
They are about to start working with the
U.N’s innovative food loss and waste
program to make that possible. They
decided to call their product FoPo. After
consideration, they are working with food
company commercials that want to use FoPo
in their products to also help reach counties
in need.
FoPo powder can be dropped into
relief efforts after natural disasters, it can be
given out in low-resource areas where fresh
food and refrigeration are hard to come by,
fo po can be added to cake mix, added to
drinks, used for baking and so much more.
Ngo states it is not groundbreaking
evidence since powdered food has been
around for quite some time now. But they
are re-configuring the waist and delivery
aspects. They have reached out to farmers
with fruits and then tried many options they
eventually settled on the spray drying
option.
A member from the group named
Gerald Perry Marin states that he has seen
how people who suffer through natural
disasters get cut from their food supply,
that's what helped him and others think of
this idea. When they found out tons of food
were going to waste they knew they could
not back out and that they had to take
action.The team has been trying to keep
their prices low so that it's affordable for
everyone in need.
They believe that a pack of freeze
dried powder (FoPo) with high nutrition
levels would fit perfectly into things like,
peanut butter, strawberry jam, tomato sauce
and peas. Although the foods lose some of
their nutritional value in the freezing process
they still stay super close to the actual food
that was turned into the powder.
For their first try they are using and
drying calamia, it's a citrus fruit and tastes
like lime and tangerine. There is only a
surplus of it, and it's not available in other
places other than the philippines since it's
easier for their philippine program to freeze
and powder.
Conclusively, FoPo powder has
many uses and can make a change.

Animals Shape Shifting due to Bad Climate

Science has found that animals have
been “shape shifting” due to bad climate.
These allegations are true in some ways but
in others not. Animals have in fact been
changing but not in the way you're probably
thinking. Animals only change the size of
their ears or beaks. It's no major difference.
Science has also found that it's only warm
blooded animals that are the main culprit of
shapeshifting.
It's hard for warm blooded animals
to control their body heat so these climate
changes could cause this to be more
difficult. They found that changes are
happening most in birds as opposed to other
animals. The big effect it has on birds is that
their beaks get bigger. Even though animals
can change, or adapt, they can't change
forever. Eventually it will get too hot for any
living thing to live, including humans.
Climate change puts pressure on living
things because it takes animals away from
their normal ecosystem, one in which other
animals need to survive.
Once it gets too hot for these animals
and they can't adapt anymore then the
ecosystem will eventually fail because the
next animal will not have its regular food
source. Even though animals can adapt they
can't do this forever.

What Will Astronauts Do on the Moon
When Humans Go Back?

Fifty years ago astronauts walked on the
moon.
We witnessed Neil Armstrong and Buzz
Aldrin walk the moon!
They used 3d scanners for Neil's suit so that
they could do research to help us understand
more of what is happening on the moon.
Also they used the scanner to show how
much oxygen he had before he would run
out so he could do more research before he
ran out.
They gathered moon rocks to determine the
size, temperature, and shape of the moon.
They also collected dust samples from the
moon to better understand the moon.
It's $30 per gram and there are 3.5 grams in
a moon rock so that is $105 grams for just
one moon rock.
The astronauts collected 50 moon rock
samples and 21.6 kilograms of dust were
collected.
They collected fine-grained lunar regolith or
(soil) .
The NASA program said they are going
back to space in 2024.
They are hoping that they can go into deeper
research.
Like figure out how to use the bathroom in
space because they have less gravity on the
moon than earth.
Currently they are going to try to head to the
lunar south pole to explore there as they
haven’t searched that area since they have

Urban Legends That Actually Happened In
Michigan.

An Urban Legend is “a humorous or
horrific story or piece of information/writing
circulated as though true, especially one
purporting to involve someone vaguely
related or known to the teller.” Some
examples of urban legends would be statues
coming to life, haunted buildings, the
bermuda triangle, torch lake monster, and
the DogMan of Michigan. People from
Michigan say that some of these urban
legends have come true. People have
reported actual sightings of some of these
supposed “legends.”
Michigan's Bermuda Triangle: The
Bermuda Triangle (Also known as the
Devil's Triangle) is one of Michigan's
strangest mysteries yet. It is located between
Puerto Rico, Florida, and Bermuda. The first
disappearance involving the triangle was
around the 1950s. People have been trying
to figure out this mystery for years.
Bigfoot: Bigfoot (also known as a
sasquatch) is known to be a 10 foot, ape or
human-like creature.
13 Heros, 13 Stories

Some call them the heroes, some
call them the 13 that never made it home,
others call them guardian angels. But what
are they really? They are the heroes that
never made it home, and they saved 17,000
people. So I guess they are all those things.
The 20 year long war, they were here when
it started, they fought in it, but they didn't
get to see the day it ended. Eleven marines,
one navy medic, and one army soldier. All
killed in a suicide bombing. All have their
own stories, but none are told. Let’s change
that.
Marine Corps Sergeant Nicole L. Gee

Nicole Gee was 23 when she died,
she lived in Sacramento
California. Nicole Gee was one of the many
maries seen cradling and comforting an
afghanistan baby days before her death.
Nicole Gee posted a picture of her holding
one of these babies. Nicole Gee graduated
from Oakmont Highschool. Her husband,
Marine Jarod Gee, also graduated from
Oakmont high school. Roseville city
officials called Nicole Gee their “
hometown hero” and she truly was.

in Corryton, Tennessee with his wife, Alena
Knauss. Ryan Knauss went o Gibbs
Highschool before he enrolled. Ryan
Knauss’s family states that he was devoted
to his job, he was happy he could help other
people. Ryan Knauss was in Afghanistan a
week before his death. Ryan Knauss had
plans to move to Washington D.C. when he
returned, sadly those plans could never be
fulfilled.
Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Darin T.
Hoover Jr.

Darin Hoover Jr. was 31 when he
died. He lived in Salt Lake City, Utah. Darin
Hoover Jr. was on his third tour in
afghanistan. In multiple interviews Darin
Hoover Jr.’s father said that he led his men
and they followed, he was a true leader in
many ways. Darin Hoover Jr’s Father said
that his son was moved by the 9/11 attacks
and vowed to serve in the military.

Johanny Rosario Pichardo was 25
when she died, she lived in Lawrence,
Massachusetts. Her family was devastated to
hear about her death, they say she should be
recognized as the true hero she is. Her
former junior R.O.T.C. The instructor
recalled her as an absolute hero. Johanny
Rosario graduated from Lawrence high
school and was a former Bridgewater State
university student. Johanny Rosario was a
member of the brigade's Female
Engagement Team (FET). FET is "volunteer
teams of female Marines with the experience
and maturity necessary to enable continuity
of operations while respecting cultural
norms." Marine First Lieutenant John "Jack"
Coppola told Cbs news this when he was
telling the story of Johanny Rosario.
Marine Corps Cpl. Hunter Lopez

Hunter Lopez was 22 when he died,
he lived in Indio, California. Both Hunter
Lopez’s parents were part of the law
enforcement. Hunter Lopez’ mother states
that her son carried an afghanistan toddler
many miles one time. Hunter Loez joined
the Marine corps in 2017, he was a member
of the 2nd Battalion, and 1rst Marines.

He lived in Omaha, Nebraska. Daegan Page
went to Millard South High School, was a
boy scout when he was younger and
enjoyed playing hockey and hunting with
his dad. Daegan Page was the older
brother of four, he was a great role model
for his siblings and they looked up to
him alot. Many people miss him and he
will forever be mourned by his parents.

Humberto Sanchez was 22 when he
died. He lived in Logansport, Indiana.
Humberto Sanchez went to Logansport high
school and was only 1 of 5 who enlisted into
the army in his class. Humberto was an
athlete, soccer. His principal recalled him as
a bright student. Many people like the mayor
of his city claimed that he still had the rest
of his life ahead of him and he truly did.

Espinoza

David Espinoza was 20 when he
died. He lived in Rio Bravo, Texas. David
Espinoza Had a younger sister that turned 13
not too long ago. His sister, his mother, and
his stepfather were devastated after his
mother received a call saying that her son
had been lost in a bombing. His family said
he was a great kid and never got in trouble.

Schmitz

Jared Schmitz was 20 when he died.
He lived in St. Charles, Missouri. Jared had
wanted to join the military since his
sophomore year in highschool. He got his
parents permission to join at the age of 17.
His dad was of course sad that he had lost
his son, but was also deeply proud of him
and called him a “true hero”. Jared Schmitz
was dedicated to his work, and trained
extremely hard to get to the place he was.

died. He lived in Jackson, Wyoming. Rylee
McCollum went to Jackson Hole
Highschool. When he died he had a wife,
Gigi, and was expecting a child, she was
born 19 days after his death. His daughter's
name is Levi Rylee McCollem. Rylee
McCollum wanted to be in the military since
he was three years old. His sister, father, and
wife will mourn him dearly, and he will be
missed by many.
Navy Hospitalman Maxton W. Soviak

Maxton Soviak was 22 when he
died. He lived in Berlin Heights, Ohio.
Maxton Soviak came from a big family of
twelve brothers, one sister, and his parents.
Maxton Soviak played football when he was
in highschool and joined the navy right after
he got out of highschool. People who knew
him said that he would leave a
“Maxton-sized hole” in their hearts.

Merola

Dylan Merola was 20 when he died. He
lived in Rancho Cucamonga, California. His
mother called him the “ best kid ever” she also
said in an interview that, “ Kind, loving… he
would give anything for anybody”. Dylan
Merola joined the military right after he
graduated from Las Osos high school. In honor
of Dylan Merola, students from his high school
wore red, white and blue on their first football
game of the season.

Nikoui

Kareem Nikoui was 20 when he died.
He lived in Norco, California. Kareem Nikoui
died trying to save Afghan families. He handed
off a child to one of his coworkers and went
back to the crowd when the bomb went off. His
father said in an interview that he had always
wanted to join the military. Kareem Nikouin
graduated from Norco Highschool and joined
the military soon after.
They are all heros, and they will all be
missed. I hope we appreciate the people around
us, because they all have stories but some don't
always come home. They will be missed forever.

Arizona can't use COVID Money

The Biden administration ordered the
governor of Arizona to stop using pandemic
money to schools that don't uphold the mask
mandate on December, 2, 2020 to try and
change his mind. The governor of Arizona
decided to pay the school districts that do
uphold the mask mandate but not as much as
he gave to the no mask schools. The school
districts that uphold the mask mandate are
upset with the governor because they banned
the masked mandate in Arizona and are
trying to change the ban.

Halloween Traditions

Halloween is one thing we look forward to
every year but how do we celebrate it?
Everyone celebrates Halloween differently
from going trick or treating to watching
scary movies. One Halloween tradition we
all do is carve a pumpkin or a jack o lantern
and put it on the front porch and when
people pass by your house they look at your
pumpkin. Another tradition is something
almost everyone does. We dress up in scary
costumes and go out trick or treating. The
third tradition is that if you see a black cat
don't touch it or don't pet it. A black cat
supplies witchcraft so the tradition we
follow is to not meddle with black cats. The
fourth tradition is bobbing for apples on
Halloween. This is a fun party game. The
fifth tradition is decorating your house with
black and orange. These are the traditional
Halloween colors for fall and October. The
sixth thing on my list is playing
pranks.Lighting bonfires on Halloween. This
is a tradition started in the eighth century
when people would dress up as ghost and
light bonfires to scare off spirits.Going to
haunted houses to get scared and frightened
is really fun to do even if its not Halloween
night.Telling scary stories and watching
horror movies this seems as a fun tradition
Going for a hay wagon ride while it is a
popular event. It consists of a wagon hay
bale and family and friends all on a ride .

Low Power Supplies

Freighters are just sitting in the water waiting to
stock up the warehouses.
Unfortunately they have been sitting there for 8+
hours.
Ever since covid hit and we got stimulus checks,
some people have been quitting and living off
that money.
What they don’t realize is there is nobody to
make products and freighters are backed up
cause there is nobody working at warehouses. To
help unload they have to do one freighter at a
time.
Even truck drivers are backed up, so companies
can’t get the products they need so that’s why
when you go to a store the shelves are empty.
This hurts the education system and economic
system.
So for example let’s say a worker quits after
getting a stimulus check and they were a truck
driver.
They carried chips for truck products and the
company they worked for were already short of
workers.
Now more trucks can’t get produced and
everyone is super busy and they need a truck to
get from place to place but now they can’t.
Lots of people are already getting Christmas
gifts for their kids because of what is to come
next.
It is to be expected that too many people quit
and we have to shut down those businesses.
This affects everybody and all we need is for
people to start helping around or the world
might turn out to be something terrible.

Top 5 Halloween Costumes of 2021

So Halloween is right around the corner. And
some people don't know what to do for
halloween. So I present to you the top
Halloween costumes of 2021.
This ones a classic. The bat Halloween costume.
When I tell you a lot of kids wear this on
Halloween, I mean A LOT. Now I have no clue
why this costume is still trending. I guess kids
still like the costume.
Among us, the game, Halloween costumes. You
know that game that became popular in 2020.
Well to be honest i'm not surprised that kids
wanna be that for halloween. Because people
still love that game and still play it. Last year my
neighbor was the green among us.
Paw Patrol costume. Now don’t ask me why this
is trending. I guess a lot of younger kids love
that stuff. I mean my cousin still does and he's 6.
But Paw Patrol costumes have been trending for
awhile. I think I'm not sure I always see a paw
patrol costume every year.
And last but not least, Disney princesses. I
always see a princess every year. It’s always a
toddler or newborn baby. Not gonna lie, the
dresses are really pretty but it must be so
uncomfy to wear all night. I mean, hear me out,
imagine wearing an itchy big dress with heels
and carrying a big basket of candy.
