Elon Musk Bids To Buy Twitter parents worry for their teens on the

Elon Musk plans to buy Twitter to
fix its “freedom of speech issues” and
get it to its full potential. He so far has a
bid of 43 billion dollars to get the
platform. He intends to remove the rules
that got former president, Donald J
Trump banned. Although he wants to
make the right to speech there better, he
has been proven to complain to Twitter
to have posts taken down that disagree
with his methods and suggestions. Many
people have questioned how he can
afford it, his reply was a tweet saying not
to worry about it as he is a major part of
Tesla, has his own space station, and co
runs a browser called Global Link.
Twitter made no comment about this,
unlike other posts. It has come out
recently that Twitter is trying to finalize a
deal but Elon Musk is strict with how
much he will spend on the app. Which
43 billion dollars is already a lot and
nobody knows how much more they are
asking for. Some people are not so
accepting of Elon Musk buying Twitter
as he intends to lower moderation and

consideration for their selling price. He
made a recent tweet that only reads “I
made the bid.” Which means that he has
made an official bid or Twitter accepted
it. Many assume this will last for a few
months, but as of now, it looks like

Nintendo’s 3rd Party Switch
Controller Repair company is Overrun

The company owner of United
Radio, Kotaku, has complained that they
are overrun with Joy-Con repairs. They
have had a sky rocket of repairs with not
only Switches, but also now the joy cons.
The joy cons have high drift issues and
usually have an average of 2 months
until the issue starts. Covid-19 has made
it even worse. The company asked
Nintendo to help by making more
efficient controllers and all they said was
that the issue couldn’t be solved
permanently. Employees have to solve
90% of broken controllers within four
days and they are overworked. Nobody
knows if Nintendo made this mandate
but it is figuratively killing workers.
Many have lost their health care from
being fired due to being unable to
complete this extreme deadline. Many
have complained to the national labor
board about Nintendo, but no public
results were made. For a lot more months
employees have to go through this
torture, and it is making gamers and
workers lives much more difficult.

Rarest Nike Shoes Ever' Produced in
1981 Hit Auction

Between the 1970s and 1980s
when Nike was kicking off, its
co-founder Phil Knight created white and
blue sneakers to overrule the quarrel they
had with the U.S government. The
sneaker company created what was said
to be a fake competitor brand called
“The One Line”, an unoriginal version of
Nike Oceania running shoes from 1970
to 1980. Nike silently kept creating the
“One Line” shoes and selling them by
limited supply without the signature logo
or even the Nike branding.
Nike was almost put out of
business due to the Customs and
Treasury departments battle they had
with the US government. The
government decided to use the Great
Depression tariff known as the American
Selling Price of 1922 and send Nike a
bill for $25 million. The bill was sent but
at the time Nike couldn't afford it.
According to American Selling Price the
fake Nike shoes had to be like/similar to
the original shoes.
According to the Heritage
Auction, Nike sold a couple thousand
pairs of the One Line shoes and got the
government to lower the bill to $9
million, which Nike could afford by
1980. The owner of the shoes, Mike
Monahan finally put the shoes up for
sale. He bought them because he thought
they were odd, and wanted to document
the abnormal history it had. The Nike
knockoff shoes are size 9, and the first
pair to come to an auction.
The shoes ended up selling for
$93,750 with buyer premium.

Buttermilk-Brown Sugar Waffles

This is made in only 10 minutes and makes
8 waffles.
INGREDIENTS
● 2 eggs
● 1 ¾ cups buttermilk
● 1 stick butter, melted and cooled to
room temperature
● 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour or 1 1/2
cups flour and 1/4 cup wheat germ
● 2 tablespoons light brown sugar or 1
tablespoon each white and dark
brown sugars
● 2 teaspoons baking powder
● 1 teaspoon baking soda
● 1 teaspoon salt
● Nonstick cooking spray or butter
PREPARATION
1. Whisk eggs, buttermilk and melted
butter in a large bowl. In another
bowl stir dry ingredients together,
then add to egg mixture and whisk
just until smooth. Let batter rest
briefly.
2. Heat a waffle iron and butter lightly
or spray with nonstick cooking spray
(even nonstick waffle irons require
this step). Ladle batter onto iron
(about 1/4 cup for an 8-inch round
iron), close, and cook just until light
golden brown. Serve immediately.

Egypt: Ruins of Ancient Temple for Zeus
Unearthed in Sinai

Egyptian archaeologists recently
unearthed an ancient temple that appeared to
be made for the Greek god, Zeus. It was
found in Sinai, an Egyptian Peninsula. The
first parts unearthed were two tall pillars
made out of granite. It appeared to have a
gate between them at some point in time but
the gate was destroyed by an ancient
earthquake. The temple also seemed to have
been modified by a Roman Emperor later on
in time after it was first made. There was
also a set of granite rocks that appeared to
have been used for a set of stairs. It was
found in between an ancient fort and an
ancient church.

Florida Chihuahua is World’s Oldest Living
Dog Setting Guinness Record

The lucky chihuahua TobyKeith born on
January 9th, 2001 has been awarded a
Guinness World Record for being the oldest
dog at 21 years old! Gisela Shore,
TobyKeith’s owner, has been with him
almost all of his life after an elderly pair
couldn't take care of him anymore.
Gisela told Guinness, “I was a
volunteer at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue
and one of the employees told me about an
elderly couple trying to surrender a puppy
because they could not take care of him any
longer,”. When she met with the couple she
learned that his real name was Peanut
Butter, but after she had adopted him, she
decided to change it to what is now his
current name, TobyKeith.
TobyKeith has amazingly made
friends with Gisela’s 28-year-old Cockatoo
Coco and most of the time, he walks with
her. Some other things TobyKeith does in
his free time is eating slices of turkey, going
on small walks, and laying next to Gisela as
she's working from home.
On the day they heard that Toby won
the award, he took a bath, trimmed his nail,
and then did his favorite treat, going on car
rides.

The Amazing 3,000 Hitter

On Saturday the 23rd of April, Mr.
Cabrera hit his 3,000 ball, placing him in the
3,000 hitter club. And, unlike his 500th
home run, Mr. Cabrera got to celebrate this
huge win with his family.
If you want another reason to think
he is awesome, he is a four time batting
champion, two-time MVP, and triple Crown
winner.
I bet we all can’t wait to see what
Mr. Cabrera does next, at least we know it

Lost Polar Exploration Ship Found

In 1915, the polar explorer Ernest
Shackelton went out on an arctic exploration
on his ship, “Endurance.” Shackleton and
his team expected ice, but nowhere near as
much as they had found. The ice had trapped
the ship in, and sunk it. Just recently, the
ship was found in West Antarctica’s Weddell
Sea, at about 9,900 feet deep. It is about 4.6
miles south of the location where it had
sunk. It had been discovered by underwater
robots. The ship had been trapped in the ice
for multiple months, until the ice tipped
over, allowing the ship to sink.

How Poland has Helped Ukraine

Nataliya Hibska, a Ukrainian who’s home
got invaded by Russia on February 24. Now
in a small town in Poland she's slowly
putting her life back together. Hubska is a 47
year old former manager of a private
education center in Kharkiv: western
Ukraine.
Hibska fled her home after the
second wave of shelling with her 11 year old
son. They began their 5 day journey to
Poland with only some basic belongings.
Poland put laws in place, this made
Nataliya feel safe. Poland allowed her to
enroll her son in school, and she got a job
making food for other refugees. She also has
5 other women working with her to make
this food as well as refugees. Poland has
taken nearly 2.1 million people from
Ukraine and is still taking more if they are
willing.

In Colorado and Michigan, there have been
reports of people catching the flu and
passing it onto birds such as chickens on a
farm. Farms have been removing the
infected birds from their land to prevent
more of a spread. Many different flus have
infected humans and birds causing people to
end up in the hospital. The symptoms start
off just like any fever or cold. It can start off
with a cough, fever, sore throat, muscle
aches, headaches, or shortness of breath.

Crumbl Cookie Removes Popular Cookie

If you don't know what Crumbl
Cookie is, it is a very popular cookie shop
that claims to have the best cookies. The
franchise started in 2017 when Jason
McGowan, and Sawyer Hamsley, who is his
cousin, collaborated to make the first store
located in Utah. They taste tested for years
trying to create the perfect cookies. Since
then the stores have spread nationwide, and
are now known and loved for their amazing
cookies. Crumbl has a menu that switches
weekly, for example one week could be
cereal flavored cookies, or random dessert
flavored cookies, but there is always a
perfect chocolate chip cookie, and a pink
frosted sugar cookie available. Recently
Jason McGowan announced that the pink
frosted sugar cookie would be removed from
the weekly menu because it wasn't keeping
up with their growth. Jason McGowan stated
that, “As we seek more opportunities to
create the best cookies in the world, that
means we have to leave other cookies
behind to make room for new and exciting
ones.” McGowan wants to leave more room
for more cookie opportunities in the future,
but he says that the cookie isn't gone forever,
and will be available sometimes in the
future, it just won't be constantly available.

What is Memorial day? Memorial
day is a day that the U.S.A. celebrates the
soldiers that have died for our safety in the
U.S. armed forces. Memorial Day is
celebrated on the last Monday of May. This
year it will be celebrated on Monday, May 30.
Memorial day originally was made
after the Civil War and became a holiday in
1971. Most Americans celebrate decorating
cemeteries or having small get-togethers.
In Waterloo, Belgium which became
the first place to celebrate their soldiers via a
memorial day because it hosted a
community event, in which businesses
closed and the community decorated their
towns. After this General John A. Logan,
leader of a business for Civil War veterans,
called for a National Remembrance Day:

Hepatitis Outbreak

Hepatitis is a inflammation of the
lungs and occurs more commonly in young
children but adults can still get it.There are
three types of hepatitis type A, type B and
type C.Type C is the most deadly but you
can recover without liver damage.There has
been a mysterious outbreak of hepatitis
across 12 countries. More than 169 cases
have been found and one death has now
happened. And now the concern continues
to grow as the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention has issued an alert, asking
doctors and hospitals to look for more cases.
The CDC and the world health organization
are looking into a possible connection to
adenovirus, which often causes cold-like
symptoms. At least 74% of the children
affected by this outbreak have tested
positive for that virus, officials said.

Letters Help Dogs Get Adopted.

In Virginia a teacher, Kensey Jones teaches
her kids persuasive essays. She decided to
make it a project. She had her second grade
class write persuasive essays and draw
pictures to try and get the dogs adopted. She
brought in pictures and information on the
dogs so they could make the essays more
personalized. She even brought in a dog
from the shelter. And within a few months
the essays and pictures started working.
Dogs that were injured, health problems,
old, or even badly treated started to get
adopted. Many had been there for months.
The teacher makes a class announcement
everytime a adoption is finalized and the
kids squeal with excitement. In the end
many dogs have gotten adopted because of
the letters.

Large Rubber Ducky Boat in Michigan 2022

This year a large rubber ducky ship
will enter Michigan at the great lakes
maritime heritage center waterfront on lake
Erie in alpena july 15-17. The rubber duck
ship will make its waypoint to Marquette’s
Mattison Lower Harbor Park on Lake
Superior aug 12-14. “It's a great thing for
kids to do”. Many ships have been invited
to sail in the water for a parade but the main
part is the rubber duck. This activity will
include boat tours,dockside tours, food,
music and entertainment. There will be lots
of people to see the amazing rubber ducky.

Lizzo Coming to Detroit

Lizzo is heading to her hometown
Detroit for a huge concert. She will play at
the Little Caesars Arena on October 6th.
Tickets will be available through
ticketmaster. The album she will be singing
is called Special. Lizzo lived in Detroit,
Michigan for 10 years. She had a concert in
Detroit in 2019 and will be returning once
again for bigger and better things. Good
