If we throw a body in space obliquely with the horizontal surface than the motion of this body is called projectile motion.
1. The trajectory of a projectile is parabolic.
2. Horizontal range of a projectile. 3. Vertical height of a projectile. 4. Numerical solution of projectile motion.
The trajectory of a projectile is parabolic
Let, v0 is the initial velocity 0 initial angle of a projectile. Horizontal component of the initial velocity, v0x = v0cos0 ….. (1) Vertical component of the initial velocity, v0y = v0 sin0 ….. (2) At time t the Horizontal component of the velocity, vx = v0cos0 ….. (3) At time t the vertical component of the velocity, vy = v0sin0 gt ….. (4)
At time t the Horizontal displacement of the projectile,
x = (v0cos0 )t ….. (5) At time t the vertical displacement of the projectile, y = (v0sin0)t (1/2)gt2 ….. (6)
At the topmost point of the trajectory, Vertical velocity vy = 0
