Dear students,
Our first unit is about the justice of our Rassol ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬The act of applying law is called justice. There can be no peace, order
and progress without an independent judiciary in a society. Our Rassol ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬is regarded as a true embodiment (symbol/practical
example) of justice to all irrespective of colour, race or creed.

PARAGRAPH QUESTIONS
I. How did the Rasool ‫ صىل هللا عليه وعىل آله وسلم‬resolve the issue?

The Quraish thought that the Rasool ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬would favour them because he ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬himself was the member
of the Quraish family. Moreover, they thought that Hazrat Usama Bin Zaid (R.A) was close enough to the Rasool ‫صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬to
make the appeal on behalf of that guilty woman.

iii. Why did non-Muslims trust the Rasool ‫? صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬
The non-Muslims trusted the Rasool ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬because they were certain of his ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬honesty, truthfulness and
justice. They knew that the Rasool ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬decided the cases on merit by strictly following the commandment of Allah
Almighty.
iv. What advice did the Rasool ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬give to Hazrat Ali (R.A)?

1. How can people achieve perfection in the moral, spiritual and social areas of life?
People can achieve perfection in the moral, spiritual and social areas of life by following the teachings of our beloved Rasool
‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬He ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬presented and instructed us with guidance regarding each and every sphere
of life. His ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬life is a perfect role model for the whole humanity.

2. How did the Rasool ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬set high and noble ideals for all mankind?
He ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬set very high and noble ideals in every field of life through his ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬practical
examples. The Prophet ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬imitated the attributes of Allah through his practical approach. He ‫صلى هللا عليه‬
‫ وعلى آله وسلم‬was selfless, kind, tolerant just and equitable to everyone without any discrimination. All Muslims need to follow
his ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬footsteps. He is a role model for all of us.

3. How were people of Makkah convinced of the Rasool’s ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬justice even before the Nabuwat?
The people of Makkah were convinced of the Rasool’s ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬justice because of his ‫صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬
honesty, justice and wisdom. As a young trader, he earned the good reputation of being an honest, fair and just
businessman. He ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬always had fair and just dealings with all people. For instance, at the time of
reconstruction of Ka’bah’ he ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬solved the dispute regarding the setting of the Black Stone so amicably
(in a peaceful manner) that everyone was convinced of his wisdom, honesty and justice.
4. What standards of justice did the Rasool ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬practise as head of the state of Madinah?
As the head of the state of Madinah, he ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬decided all the cases purely on merit with justice and equity
irrespective of colour, creed or race. Once some people wanted to save a Quraish woman, who was found guilty of stealing.
The Rasool ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬refused them and announced that if his ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬daughter would have
committed a crime, she would be punished like all others.

5. What made non-Muslims bring their suits to the Rasool ‫?صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬
His ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬commitment to justice and his reliable character were well-known long before he ‫صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله‬
‫ وسلم‬became a prophet. The non-Muslims brought their cases to the Rasool ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬because he ‫صلى هللا عليه‬
‫ وعلى آله وسلم‬was known for his justice. The Jews, in spite of their hostility to the Rasool ‫صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬, were so
impressed by his impartiality and sense of justice that they used to bring their cases to him ‫صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬, and he
‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬decided them according to the Jewish laws.

6. How did the Holy Quran describe the personality of the Rasool ‫?صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬
In the Holy Quran the verse that refers literally to the status of the Rasool ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬as a role model is as follows:

The Rasool ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬was well-known for his justice. Even his bitter enemies, the Jews, admired his justice because
he ‫ صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وسلم‬settled their cases according to their own Jewish law. He very strictly followed the commandment of Allah
and he always judged in equity between them.
