ACROSS

4. the envelope of gases surrounding the earth or another planet

7. is defined as a branch of biology focused in the study of the relationships of the natural
world
8. any of the almost spherical concentric regions of matter that make up the earth and its
atmosphere, as the lithosphere and hydrosphere
9. the branch of science that deals with the physical and biological properties and
phenomena of the sea.
10. the science that deals with the earth’s physical structure and substance, its history and
the processes that act on it.

DOWN
1. all the waters on the earth’s surface
2. the branch of science that deals with celestial objects, space, and the physical universe as a
whole
3. the branch of science dealing with the physical constitution of the earth and its atmosphere.
5. the regions of the surface, atmosphere and hydrosphere of the earth
6. the branch of science concerned with processes and phenomena
What I Have Learned

A. Fill me Up with Earth’s System!

Direction: Identify the subsystems, its component/s and the interactions involved as
indicated by the white blank in the given illustration. Explain you answers on a separate
sheet of paper.

ATMOSPHERE
GEOSPHERE
GEOSPHERE

LANDFORMS

LAKE

BIOSPHERE

HYDROSPHERE

1.ATMOSPHERE -the atmosphere contains gases like oxygen and carbon dioxide, and these gases comes from plants and
Animals and also humans.
2. BIOSPHERE – biospehere contains living organisms such as trees, plants, animals and humans.
3. HYDROSPHERE- hydrosphere provides the water for living things, without water life cannot exist.
4. GEOSPHERE- the geosphere contains all landforms which is the surface of Earth.

What I Can Do

A. Where do you Think Life Exist?

Directions: The following table contains pictures of different places on Earth. Describe
what each photo is showing. Examine whether it is possible or impossible for life to exist
there. If you think so, list some of the organisms which you think may exist in these
places and the interactions involve.
A place on Earth What is this Do you think there is life here? If so,
image what possible organism/s may exist here
showing? and how may they thrive?
MOUNTAINOUS LIFE IS POSSIBLE IN THIS PLACE , EXAMPLE OF LIVING
DESERT ORGANISMS THAT CAN EXIST ARE CACTUS , SNAKES ,
AND OTHERS.CACTUS DON'T NEED MUCH WATER SO IT
CAN SURVIVE THIS PLACE.

WATERFALL/ LIFE IS POSSIBLE IN THIS PLACE BEACUSE THERE IS

BODY OF WATER WATER THE MAIN SUBSTANCE FOR LIVING. PLANTS AND
ARE LIVING ORGANISMS THAT CAN EXIST HERE.

EARTH/ YES , LIFE IS POSSIBLE IN THIS PLACE BECAUSE THERE

BIOSPHERE ARE ELEMENTS THAT MAKE LIFE POSSIBLE SUCH AS
WATER, AIR AND FOOD. ANIMALS , PLANTS , HUMANS ARE
LIVING THINGS THAT CAN EXIST HERE.

GROUND/ PLANTS AND BACTERIA AND SOME ANIMALS ARE THE

SOIL ONLY THINGS THAT CAN LIVE HERE.

B. Concept Mapping

Directions: Complete the concept map by filling in the necessary information pertaining
on the subsystems of the Earth. Analyze the flow of concepts through the diagram.
