Summer is over and it’s time for the Holiday
season to start up. There’s a whole lot of
cannabis stuff happening here in Oklahoma,
“The New Weed Capital of the World”, and
we’re trying to fit in as much as we can. This
is the Edibles Magazine Celebrity Issue!
Jim Belushi has launched a line of edibles
in Oklahoma with Glazed and The Blues
Brothers have launched a line of pre-rolls.
We interviewed Jim Belushi along with the
ladies of Glazed Edibles, and Dan Ackroyd
and Jim Belushi are featured on the cover,
plus we’ve got a list of The Top 7 Celebrity
Aloha Edibles Readers,

Magazine™ in a post pandemic world brings
a new perspective for us. Every issue we

the news. Justin Bieber has a new cannabis
line but it’s not available here, yet. Oklahoma
is becoming somewhat of an entertainment
capital as well. Killers of the Flower Moon
starring Leonardo DiCaprio is shooting
here and the upcoming Ghostbusters
movie with Paul Rudd takes place in OK too.
“Reservation Dogs’, the new show on FX was
filmed in Northeastern Oklahoma and is our
featured Entertainment Review in this issue.
We even discuss the KISS concert we went
to at the BOK. It’s an exciting time to be here
and it makes us all appreciate Oklahoma
even more. There are some exciting events
coming up at The Outsiders House Museum
and Rob Van Dam is coming to town soon.
It’s been pretty amazing to see how
Oklahoma has transformed and evolved over
the last few years. My friends and I from the
old days often talk about the dirt weed we’d
buy on the illicit market and how we had to
go out of state to get tattoos and piercings or
to buy cold full strength beer. The cannabis
we have available now is mind blowing and
I don’t think any of us ever imagined quite
what the future of marijuana held. There’s
been so many technological advancements
in cannabis growing, processing and
if you do what you love. Eleven years ago
when I started EdiblesList.com and Edibles
Magazine™, I knew legalization was coming,
and I knew it would occur on a state by state
basis. Now in 2021, Federal legalization is on
the horizon. However, a federal cannabis tax
could potentially ruin the market with over
taxation if uncoordinated with readjusting the
local state and municipal taxes associated
with highly regulated markets. On the flip
side it could be a game changer allowing
interstate commerce and central production
for manufacturers and cultivators. It could
even allow for international export and trade
to other Federally legalized countries like
Canada, Uruguay or Jamaica.
Meanwhile, in the nation’s fastest growing
regulated medical cannabis market, and after
many failed attempts, Oklahoma is about to
legalize cannabis for adult-use. Oklahoma
has created a regulated free cannabis
market, unlike any other state in the nation.
Entrepreneurs at all stages and calibers
can get licensed and operate a commercial
cannabis business. The state has treated it
as a “May the Best Man Win,” type market,
and we appreciate that, because that’s how it
should be. Oklahoma has essentially treated
it like a normal business that has oversight,
manufacturing, it makes it all seem a little
like stoner science fiction and we’re pretty
excited to see what’s coming next.
Thanksgiving isn’t far away and we’ve
included the perfect set of cannabis Holidaze
recipes to make sure your infused feast has
everything you need. There’s also brand new
product reviews of cannabis goods available
in Oklahoma, so you know what to keep an
eye out for the next time you’re at the dispo.

change their mother or grandmother’s
lives, helping them see the true benefits of
medical cannabis use, I know I’ve done my
job. If we affect just one person positively on
this mission of education and change, our
work has fulfilling meaning.

Green Thumb Industries, Inc.
Green Thumb Industries Inc (GTBIF) is currently a
cannabis stock to watch. Its stock price has jumped
by 389% in the three years since it started trading
in 2018. GTI is steadily expanding, opening 13 new
stores in the first quarter of 2021 that contributed to
revenue growth.
Green Thumb Industries is headquartered in
Chicago, Illinois, and produces and sells medicinal
and recreational cannabis through wholesale
and retail channels in the United States. It has a
presence in twelve states and operates more than
50 cannabis stores under the chains Rise and
Essence. Green Thumb is focusing its expansion on
limited license states with large populations, and
does not currently export into the global medical
market due to U.S. federal prohibition. It offers
multiple products under a portfolio of cannabis
consumer packaged goods brands, including Dr.
Solomon's, Dogwalkers, and Beboe.
Green Ganja Soup
Green Ganja Soup is a wonderfully infused version
of green soup, which is a healthy, cleansing and
delicious way to help set your system back in
working order just in time for the beginning of the
holiday season.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons cannabis infused THC olive oil, plus
more for garnish
2 large yellow onions, chopped
1 teaspoon salt, divided
2 tablespoons plus
3 cups water, divided
1/4 cup arborio rice

1 bunch green chard (about 1 pound)
14 cups gently packed spinach (about 12 ounces),
any tough stems trimmed
4 cups vegetable broth, store-bought or
homemade
Large pinch of cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon lemon juice, or more to taste
Directions:
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over high
heat. Add onions and 1/4 teaspoon salt; cook, stirring
frequently, until the onions begin to brown, about 5
minutes. Reduce the heat to low, add 2 tablespoons
of water and cover. Simmer, stirring frequently until
the pan cools down, cover stirring occasionally
until the onions are greatly reduced and have a
deep caramel color for about 25 to 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine the remaining 3 cups of water
and 3/4 teaspoon salt in a soup pot or Dutch oven;
add rice. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to maintain a
simmer, cover and cook for 15 minutes. Trim the
white ribs out of the chard, which you can save for
another use like adding it to a stir-fry or other soup.
Coarsely chop the chard greens and spinach. When
the rice has cooked for 15 minutes, stir in the chard
greens. Return to a simmer; cover and cook for 10
minutes. When the onions are caramelized, stir a
little of the simmering liquid into them; add them to
the rice along with the spinach, broth and cayenne.

Return to a simmer, stir once, cover and cook, until
the spinach is tender but still bright green, which
is about 5 more minutes. Puree the soup in the pot
with an immersion blender until perfectly smooth
or in a regular blender in batches then return it to
the pot. Stir in 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Taste and
add more lemon juice, if desired. Garnish each bowl
of soup with a drizzle of cannabis olive oil.

MedMen Co-
Founders Suing
New Cannabis
Co. Partners

The co-founders of MedMen Enterprises, Adam Bierman and
Andrew Modlin, are back in the news with more conflict and
lawsuits.
In case y'all forgot or didn’t know, MedMen laid off hundreds of
employees, sold off non-core assets, owed vendors hundreds
of thousands of dollars and they were forced to face the hard
questions of their financial health and future. Bierman and
Modlin kept low profiles since their January 2020 ousting of
their leadership positions at MedMen. As a result of all the
bad press and bad financial projections, MedMen’s stock price
tanked.
A year and a half after their downfall at MedMen, Bierman
and Modlin teamed up with Coastal Holding Co., giving them a
chance to dive head first back into the cannabis industry. They
have now sued their new partners, accusing them of trying to
unload the company in a fire sale. But their partners say they
were the ones trying to scheme a quick exit.
The San Jose based vertically integrated Parent Co. runs
several adult-use California retail dispensaries. The Parent
Co. said that it agreed to acquire 100% of the equity securities
of Coastal Holding Co. in a cash-and-stock deal worth up to
$56.2 million. The deal was to be contingent on the successful
transfer of Coastal’s cannabis licenses.
Bierman and Modlin filed three separate lawsuits in state and
federal court against 5 co-owners of Coastal Holding Co. It’s a
finger pointing situation from both sides. Bierman and Modlin
say they have the right to approve the sale via their newly
formed Delaware corporation LMAJ, the entity used to deploy
investment funds, but have refused to do so.
In a court filing, the other partners and owners of Coastal
Holding Co. state that Bierman organized the very sale he is
now trying to stop.
“It was Plaintiff, not Defendants, who recommended, found,
and negotiated” the sale of Coastal for $56.2 million, according
to a court filing by the company’s other owners.
Bierman and Modlin claim in their federal and state lawsuits
in August 2020, Michalowski began negotiating a sale of
the company “designed to benefit himself” and the other
defendants.
“Defendants have abused their power and treat Coastal as
their possession to do with as they please without regard to
Coastal’s operating agreement or their fiduciary duties owed to

the Coastal’s other equity holders,” the two business
partners allege, adding that any sale of the company
“requires LMAJ’s approval.”
The defendants say it was Bierman who began
shopping Coastal around and that he started looking
for a buyer in April, not August.
“Mr. Bierman, at the behest of Coastal, worked
with a third-party consultant, MarVista Partners …
to shop Coastal to potential buyers. At least three
offers were obtained,” according to a court filing by
the co-owner defendants.
Once one of the potential buyers conducted due
diligence, Bierman went back to the board urging
them to go back to the other potential buyers and
lower Coastal’s price tag. “Bierman vehemently
expressed his opinion that Coastal
was days away from failing to
remain an ongoing concern,” the
filing states. “He indicated it was “In fact,

It’s unclear why Bierman and Modlin preferred the
other offer, since the filing refers to it only as “far
inferior to the Current Offer and not in the Company’s
interest.”But the “backup offer” was apparently
enough to tarnish the business arrangement.
In a court filing, the defendants stated the proposed
Coastal Holding Co. sale and a $1 million bridge
loan (although disputed) were needed to keep the
company solvent and to pay a $640,000 IRS debt.
“Failure to obtain the bridge loan could mean the
failure of the Company,” the filing claims. “The
Company urgently needs the bridge loan to pay large
debts which are maturing or overdue.”
“Ever since Defendants (and, therefore, Coastal)
rejected Mr. Bierman’s ‘backup offer,’ Plaintiff has
engaged in any practice and maneuver he can think
of to prevent the Current Offer from reaching a
successful conclusion,” the defendant’s filing states.

Bierman and Modlin’s lawsuits are requesting
a temporary restraining order and a preliminary
injunction to halt both the Coastal sale and a
proposed $1 million bridge loan.
Unfortunately, it’s possible Bierman and Modlin
are going to cause themselves more trouble with
dragging their private business affairs into public
court. Their equity buy-in of Coastal Holding Co.
disclosed their $3.7 million investment in the
company, which holds eight marijuana business
licenses in Southern and Central California (retail,
delivery, distribution and manufacturing). In
exchange for the investment, Bierman got a seat on
the company’s board of directors.
If Coastal Holding Co. failed to disclose the new
owners, file ownership structure change paperwork
or failed to disclose Bierman
and Modlin as financial interest
holders, severe penalties could
be assessed from both their local
jurisdictions as well as the state
Department of Cannabis Control.
The maximum penalty for
Coastal Holding Co. could be the
revocation of at least one of its
eight licenses, and the minimum
penalty would result in a 45-day
license suspension, in addition to
possible fines assessed. They are
definitely putting the company at
risk by airing their dirty laundry
through the court system.
According to the California
Department of Cannabis Control
online records, Bierman is
identified only as an owner of
one of Coastal’s multiple retail
licenses. Modlin is not disclosed
as an owner for any of the eight
licenses held by Coastal Holding
Co.
Their first lawsuit was filed Sept.
15 in Orange County Superior Court. Four days later,
it was moved to federal court, and the Orange County
suit was dismissed. The five defendants include
Coastal Holding Co. CEO Julian Michalowski and
Joshua Ginsberg, who co-founded Denver-based
cannabis retail chain Native Roots.
A week after filing their first lawsuit, Bierman and
Modlin filed a similar suit in Santa Barbara County
Superior Court and added Coastal Holding Co. as a
defendant. The move can be classified as a backup

to the federal case just in case the federal case gets
thrown out due to cannabis being a Schedule I drug.
Both the cases are still pending. The court date for the
state lawsuit currently has a hearing for Jan. 21, 2022.
It’s unclear whether the lawsuits filed by Bierman
and Modlin will stop the deal. In their court papers,
the five Coastal co-owners maintain that if Bierman
and Modlin prevail, it may be the beginning of the
end for the company.

directed by Dan Aykroyd and his last film was Gang Related,

Why are there such dramatic variations between laboratories?

I was recently asked why there’s so much variation on test
results between labs. Its not an easy question to answer
because it can be one or many reasons. As the industry
matures, interested parties are realizing the importance
of recognizing legitimate cannabis laboratories.
Accredited laboratories live by managed scientific rules
and routines. Labs are constantly updating documents,
training staff, resolving issues concerning performance,
and improving customer satisfaction. Laboratories
that earn and maintain the approval nod (accreditation)
by a sanctioned conforming accrediting body (CAB)
regarding the laboratory’s scope of accreditation to ISO/
IEC 17025:2017, are competent within their stated scope
of accreditation. Participating labs shall collaborate with
peer reviewed performance testing (PT), inter-laboratory
comparison, and record adequate daily quality control
suitable to mirror the routine testing of randomly collected
complex agricultural samples.
ISO/IEC standard is meant for general competence. If a
lab doesn’t document a record of task … it didn’t happen.
Documentation, and the trail it leaves, is the evidence or
proof a lab did something. You’ve trained your staff, you’ve
calibrated, you’ve performed checks, etc. If something
goes wrong … heaven forbid, you have evidence to support
you did the right thing or where to come clean and how to
improve. Transparency is the key; honesty is the lock.
If a laboratory customer comes to you in a regulatory
environment and you don’t have records to support all
the things you claim or are supposed to have completed,
you can be in big trouble to the point of no longer being in
business or ending up in court. The lab may be complicit
for health and or financial implications and held liable.

We all want the result to be correct, comparable and feel
confident. Remember, being correct is the performing
lab’s best estimation, a probability of a data point falling
within an established range of statistical variation.
In anticipation of state regulatory requirements gaining
greater traction, I envision state licensed laboratories
to become traceably obvious and the overall number
of current licensed compliance testing laboratories
to decline.

HarvestFest Recap Tulsa KISS Concert Review

A camping festival in Oklahoma can be a bit of gamble
for comforts... What's the weather going to do? Bathroom
situation? Are there enough camping spots? Parking?
Good news HarvestFest 2021 had all those things covered
plus a pool, bar and very convenient on-site dispensary.
For a successful event you need good people and that's all
I found at the HarvestFest. Attendees, vendors and staff
came together with nothing but high spirits with every
intent of a good time. Coming early to set up camp is highly
recommended, we showed up Thursday night wishing
we had come Wednesday maybe even Tuesday. Kudos to
those who came early setting up creative themed camps
extending art into our temporary neighborhoods. Canna

Reservation Dogs is the new show on FX
from Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi. There
are eight episodes in the first season and
they’re all great, so it makes sense that this
seems to be everyone’s new favorite thing to
watch. A lot has already been said all over
the press about the amazing young cast
and that they cast authentic native actors
and it’s all true and that’s fantastic. Now
because we’re a cannabis publication I think
it’s important also to discuss how genuinely
the show presents the Oklahoma cannabis
scene in a small town. The Reservation
Dogs are four 16 year old kids, Elora Danan,
Willie Jack, Cheese and Bear. They live on
the reservation in Northeastern Oklahoma
and dream of escaping their mundane life
and moving to California. It’s a vague and
teenage plan inspired by the suicide of their
other friend Daniel that happened a year
before the events of the show. In episode 3
we get to meet Elora Danan’s uncle, Uncle
Brownie. He’s played by Cayuga actor Gary
Farmer, an Indigenous acting legend known
for his amazing performance as Nobody in
Jim Jarmusch’s art-noir western, Dead Man,
starring Johnny Depp.

the Reservation Dogs to fight if they’ll give
him 30 dollars and take him to town to sell his
weed. Unfortunately for Brownie, nobody in
town wants to buy it. While he’s been living in
seclusion, medical marijuana was legalized
in Oklahoma. When Brownie shows his jar
to a couple of potential buyers they tell him,
“That smell like lawn trimmings, we get our’s
from the dispensary.” His response, “What
are you, a couple of narcs?”
The kids tell him: “The game’s changed
uncle. People don’t smoke that 1990s weed
no more… it’s legal now and it’s way stronger
than what you got.”
Since everyone goes to the dispensary, he
decides to go there as well hoping they
might buy his stash. They go to HIJI Medical
Marijuana Dispensary and he’s told by the
budtender: “it’s like an antique.” Brownie
hits some of HIJI’s potent new kush and gets
higher than he’s been since 1967. Willie Jack
tells him, “White man’s weed, cracked the
code man.” It’s a more honest depiction of
cannabis life than we’ve seen on television
and it’s extra special that it’s so specific to
Oklahoma. I went to school in Tahlequah,
worked at The Cherokee Heritage Center

nineties. The differences between then and
what we get now are astronomical and it
would have been hard to believe our state
would be the cannabis capital that it has

Ingredients Apple Syrup. Bring the syrup to a boil, stirring

6 tbsp Mystery Baking Co. 300mg CannaButter constantly to dissolve sugar, and then remove
1 tbsp Mystery Baking Co. Green Apple Syrup from heat. Unroll pie crusts, press one into a
1/4 cup White Sugar 9-inch pie dish, and place the apples into the
1/2 cup Brown Sugar crust. Unroll the second crust on a work surface,
1 pinch Salt and cut into about 8 1-inch wide strips. Criss-
1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon cross the strips over the apples, or weave into
1/4 cup Water a lattice crust. Crimp the bottom crust over the
1 (15 ounce) package Double Crust lattice strips with your fingers. Spoon caramel

4 large Green Apples, cored and thinly sliced crust; let remaining sauce drizzle through the

The “Scruffy” Blunt from Jackalope Farms is
a non-tobacco, pre rolled blunt made with 1.5
grams of strain specific, greenhouse grown
full flower, dipped in a ¼ gram of terpene
rich cannabis concentrate, and heavily dusted
with a ¼ gram of kief powder, wrapped in a
mango flavored hemp cigar paper that is 100%
nicotine free. A Jackalope is a mythical animal
depicted as a hare or rabbit with horns, said

This is not exactly a smoke for beginners. The
concentrate used is a combination of live resin

a combination is created that will leave you as
high as you want to be. It’s definitely a smoky

Justin Bieber Launches Peaches

As a boy with the last name of Breese (pronounced like the word
Breeze), you can bet I was aware of Georgia Peaches before
Justin Bieber came along. For the uninitiated, Southern Rock
Gods Lynyrd Skynyrd recorded a JJ Cale song named They Call
Me The Breeze way back in 1976, the year of my birth. One of the
lines reads: “Well I dig you Georgia Peaches, you make me feel
right at home”
Now, I won’t get into blowing down the road or any of the other
material in that wonderful tune, but, fast forward to 2021, and
in my cannabis industry day job as a Packaging Supervisor, in
my room, I am keeper of the song! Earlier this year on a May
morning, my little ears did hear the dulcet tones of Justin Bieber
singing about the fabled peaches of my childhood theme song:
“I got my peaches down in Georgia, (Oh, yeah, shit)
I get my weed from California, (That’s that shit)
I took my chic up to the North, yeah (Badass bitch)
I get my light right from the source, yeah (Yeah, that’s it)”
Now, I’ve eaten a Georgia Peach and they are delicious. So, in
this line, JB is establishing he has taste. And in the second line,
he speaks another truth. Despite the Cup wins for me and the
company I work for, we all know where the best stuff generally
comes from, and apparently… SO. DOES. BEIBERONI. He also
is taking his girlfriend up to Canada. (Or is he? Could the Badass
Bitch he’s referring to be some Mother plant he hid in a guitar
case and smuggled into Vancouver? Maybe he’s taking some
Baldwin daughter up to Humboldt? We love art that’s interpreted
in myriad ways! Either way, you know the The Holy Bieb is going
with God, his light source. All of this ranting babble leads us to
one conclusion. Justin Bieber is into weed.
And it’s 2021, so, as any celebrity worth their salt (or water if you
prefer Dune terms) is putting out a cannabis brand, Bieber &
Co have started their own cannabis line, Peaches. Partnering
with LA-based brand Palms, which has always produced some
fine pre-rolled smokables, Bieber’s Peaches will feature indoor,
high THC testing, Nug rich flower ground into 7 half gram pre-
rolls. Retail price of the pre-roll pack will be in the $50-60 dollar
range, making it similar in price to an 8th, which is technically
the same amount of actual flower. But with some normal 8th,
it’s Beibless. With Peaches, you get the satisfaction of knowing
that Justin Effing Bieber hand rolled that thing! All kidding
aside, Bieber was heavily involved in the product development,
including choosing the artwork for its packaging. Justin has
stated that cannabis was a huge factor in his mental health.
He doesn’t really say how or why in any of the press releases
regarding the brand, but, belieb him and these press releases,
it is. And now, you too can gain the same enlightenment and
positive head space that Beibsie Weensie does every time
he lights up.

superior effect and flavor and in this journalist(?)’s experience,
the Palm wraps are a lot lighter than tobacco, which should

Oklahoma voters approved medical cannabis
legalization with the passing of HB 788 in
2018. Soon after, talk of passing a recreational
bill started. Due to delays and coronavirus, it
impeded signature collections in 2019 & 2020
and as a result, none of the potential legislation
made the ballot. This year Oklahomans for
Responsible Cannabis Action (ORCA) have
finalized the language of initiatives to legalize
adult-use cannabis and to remodel the state’s
current medical cannabis program for the
2022 ballot. State questions (SQ) 817 & 818
bring the subject back to the table but will they
make it to the ballot?
The Oklahoma Marijuana Regulation and
Right to Use Act (SQ 817), the recreational
legalization measure, would allow for any
persons over 21 to openly possess and grow
for themselves.
“It shall be lawful for all persons twenty-
one (21) years of age and older to grow,
purchase, transport, receive, prepare and
consume marijuana and marijuana products.
It shall be lawful for all persons twenty-
one (21) years of age and older to possess
up to: twelve (12) marijuana plants and the
marijuana harvested therefrom; one (1) ounce
of concentrated marijuana; seventy-two (72)
ounces of topical marijuana; seventy-two (72)
ounces of edible marijuana; eight (8) ounces of
suppository marijuana; and eight (8) ounces of
commercially sold marijuana. These amounts
are cumulative. The legislature is permitted
to increase these quantities as well as permit
other forms of marijuana.”
Retail cannabis sales would be subject to a 15
percent excise tax, and the initiative outlines
a number of programs that would receive
partial revenue from those taxes. The revenue
generated would initially cover implementation
costs, then it will then be allocated to support
an array of programs, including but not limited
to, water-related infrastructure, substance
misuse treatment, law enforcement re-
training and cannabis medical research.
And perhaps most importantly this measure
lays out pathways for re-sentencing and

expungements for those with marijuana
convictions.
In addition, the measure also calls for a
gradual decrease of medical marijuana tax,
which would reach zero percent within one
year of its enactment. Finally, within 60 days
of enactment, the state’s existing medical
cannabis dispensaries would be permitted to
sell to the recreational market.
The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana
Enforcement and Anti-Corruption Act (SQ
818), the second and separate initiative, would
establish the Oklahoma State Cannabis
Commission (OSCC) to oversee all areas of
the medical marijuana system. The Oklahoma
State Cannabis Commission would take over
industry oversight from the Oklahoma State
Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA), which
had been created under the state Department
of Health by State Question 788 in 2018.
This would also set a seven percent excise tax on
medicalcannabissales,withrevenuesupporting
marijuana research, rural impact and urban
waste remediation, agriculture development,
mental health response programs,
substance misuse treatment and more.
While the measures would appear separately
on the ballot if they qualify, activists view
them as complementary. Both petitions
include language stating that the presence of
THC metabolites in a person’s hair or bodily
fluid is not on its own proof of impairment
or intoxication, nor can tests showing their
presence be used to deny housing, health care,
public aid or other rights.

Both of the newly finalized initiatives would be
constitutional amendments, meaning activists
will need to collect at least 177,958 valid
signatures from registered voters on each to
qualify them for the ballot. With mandates
lifted and most of the state back to business
as usual, gathering signatures will be easier
than last year, however, convincing cannabis
business owners to work with a new agency
could be a hard sell.

They have the option of ingesting
cannabis. They can utilize highly
concentrated concentrations in
edibles but the effects can differ
depending on the way the body
processes the substance.
When we talk edibles, they are
cannabis or cannabis oil-infused
foods, tinctures and or beverages.

been infused with preferably

$6.1 Million From CBD Lawsuit

Legendary actor, director, composer, and
producer Clint Eastwood has been awarded
$6.1 million from a company that falsely claimed
Eastwood had endorsed their CBD products.
The company then failed to respond to a court
ordered summons and a summary judgment of
6.1 million was issued!
Eastwood and Garrapata, a company that owns
rights to his likeness, filed two lawsuits in a Los
Angeles federal court last year against three
CBD manufacturers that had claimed the actor
endorsed their products.
Eastwood’s lawyers asserted that the primary
company involved, Mediatonas UAB, completely
fabricated every and all information relating to
Clint Eastwood and his likeness on their website.
The official court document read: “Mr. Eastwood
has no connection of any kind whatsoever to any
CBD products and never gave the alleged NBC
interview on the Today show suggesting he was
leaving Hollywood to become a CBD salesman
for their products.”
Mediatonas UAB, is a company that owns the
websites that published the fake interview on an
NBC show resembling “The Today Show” and
allegedly used a photo of Eastwood from an
actual appearance on” The Today Show”, adding
links directing consumers to buy their CBD
products.
The second lawsuit targeted ten companies and
individuals throughout the United States that are

accused of using a programming code to insert
his name in hidden metatags, to direct online
searches to their web page.
The 91 year old Academy Award winning Actor/
Director Eastwood asked the court to order the
companies to give up all income, profits, and
benefits resulting from their conduct. The judge
who oversaw Clint Eastwood’s case was R. Gary
Klausner of United States District Court for the
Central District of California, he immediately
awarded the plaintiff and Garrapata $6.1 million
dollars for Mediatonas UAB’s fraudulent acts.
The judge declined to award damages for
defamation claims, saying the language used to
promote Eastwood as an endorser of the CBD
products “was not libelous on its face.”
Eastwood has 8 children ranging from 24 to 67
years old, most have followed in his footsteps
and work in the film industry. He is non-smoker
in real life, but he sometimes uses a certain
brand of cigars for the nasty taste to help with his
“Make my Day, Punk,” movie persona.
Just the opposite of Eastwood's non smoking
lifestyle, one of his close friends James Garner,
the “Maverick” and “Rockford Files” star was
once heard stating, “I smoked pot for 50 years.”
Garner was a supporter of the University of
Oklahoma, and in 2003 donated $500,000 to their
school of drama. Before he died in 2014, he had
attended the University of Oklahoma as well as
many Oklahoma Sooners football games. At his
funeral Eastwood said, “Garner opened the door
for people like Steve McQueen and myself.”
Eastwood, at 91, is still at it directing and acting
and sometimes chomping on nasty cigars.
Hopefully he has time left to spend his $6 million
dollar win (if he ever actually collects the money).

OBN Raids Two

Eastern OK Farms

In September, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN)
announced they raided two eastern Oklahoma cannabis
farms with the assistance of the Oklahoma Medical
Marijuana Authority. OMMA Director Adria Berry called
a partnership between the two agencies "essential."
OBN agents served a search warrant at a farm near
Depew. While the farm had proper licensing, they were
reportedly "selling marijuana out-of-state on the illicit
market," a news release issued by OBN spokesman
Mark Woodward indicates.
Woodward said authorities carried out a similar search
warrant in Latimer County for an unlicensed operation.
The two raids combined resulted in several arrests as
well as the seizure of more than 4,900 plants.
The press release did not identify anyone who was
arrested or charged, nor did it specify which businesses
were the subjects of the raids. The news release stated
that the two farms raided this week are among "dozens"
of such sites agents with the Bureau of Narcotics and
Dangerous Drugs Control have shut down since April.
In the news release, OMMA Director Adria Berry, who
began her new position as Oklahoma Cannabis Czar
Aug. 30th said “OMMA is actively working to further
strengthen our relationship with OBN and local law
enforcement."
“Collaboration between OMMA Inspectors and OBN
Enforcement will not only stop, but prevent, illegal
marijuana activity," Berry said.
OBN Director Donnie Anderson said in his statement that
investigators have seen a rise in criminal organizations
this year attempting to set up cannabis businesses that
are not compliant with the law.
"OMMA inspectors and OBN enforcement agents
are sharing information and resources to protect
legitimate marijuana businesses and prevent trafficking
organizations from getting a foothold within Oklahoma's
medical marijuana program," Anderson said.
The recently passed House Bill 2646 allowed OMMA and
OBN to enter into a memorandum of understanding
which a portion of OMMA licensing fees would help
pay for the OBN to establish a cannabis-specific
enforcement unit. OMMA also has a legislative mandate
with House Bill 2904 to hire at least 60 compliance
inspectors this year.

Last issue we covered Delta-8 in our education corner. This edition,
the new hype is THC-O acetate. There are over 500 cannabinoid
compounds in the cannabis plant and it’s sister plant hemp. THC-O
is another cannabinoid hitting the mainstream bringing new
information to light.
THC-O is three times more psychoactive than delta-9 THC. THC-O
and Delta-8 are usually made from hemp, and fall within a gray
legal area. It is so much more potent than THC, its effects border
hallucinatory. Some consumers of THC-O claim a more spiritual high.
The United States military conducted experiments on non-lethal
incapacitating agents as early as 1949. Researchers tested THC-O
on dogs. They had concluded that THC-O eroded dogs’ muscle
coordination twice as much as conventional delta-9 THC.
To manufacture THC-O from hemp, CBD is converted to delta-8
or a similar THC compound. Then Acetic Anhydride is added. It
becomes THC-O acetate (O-acetyl-Δ8-THC). The finished product
is a thick brown distillate oil that you can vape or ingest. It is a
“prodrug,” meaning the cannabinoid compound is not activated
until it has been metabolized. So it takes 20-30 minutes for the user
to feel it’s effects.
Warning: Do not try this at home! Acetic Anhydride is highly corrosive
and flammable. It puts health, safety, and the environment at risk
unless made in a highly-controlled laboratory environment.
It is also possible that toxic additives like vitamin E acetate are
being used in the manufacturing of THC-O oil as well. Which is why
OMMA is issuing notices to patients and processors about THC-O.
Part of the risk posed is that consumers may be unaware of which
isomer is present in commercial products.
With the passage of the 2018 US Farm Bill, easing restrictions on
the cultivation and production of industrial hemp, THC-O-acetate
has become increasingly available. THC-O can also be produced
from the extracts of psychoactive strains of cannabis in states
where it’s permitted, in which case the product will be primarily
O-acetyl-Δ9-THC.
Concerns have also been raised about the lack of safety data or
quality control testing given the limited history of human use and
potentially toxic chemical reagents used during manufacture. The
legality issue is also complex and varies between jurisdictions.
In the United Kingdom, THC-O-acetate is categorized as a Class A
drug. In the United States, THC-O-acetate is not scheduled at the
federal level, but it could be considered an analog of THC, in which
case the purchase, sale, or possession could be prosecuted under HIGHEST QUALIT Y INGREDIENTS
the Federal Analog Act.

“This manufactured THC compound is NOT a medical marijuana
product and has been shown to be very harmful when added to
other THC-containing products, causing side effects such as
seizures, difficulty speaking, and vomiting. Reports of these @STARGA ZER. LIFE
dangerous side effects are increasing, which is why our QA lab,
Metis, is diligently monitoring for this substance and other THC
analogs. Metis has confirmed the presence of this chemical
compound in a concentrate by the name of Platinum OG Sugar
(BA#-POG-062421).”
