A MOTIVATION ANGEL

Harmer, J. (2001). The practice of English

language teaching. longman.
Teachers need to build our own “motivation angel” to keep students
engaged and involved in lessons
Affect:
building good teacher-student rapport
Achievement:
Nothing motivates like success.
Nothing demotivates like continual failure.
Attitude:
Teachers should be nice, confident, professional
to get the trust from students
Activities:
Ss’ motivation remain healthy if they are doing things they enjoy doing
as an important role.
Agency:
When Ss get to make some of the decisions about what is going on, and
as a consequence, they take more responsibility for their learning.
