BSTM 2/TOURISM
COURSE CODE: TPC 4 – Transportation Management
1st
Semester of A.Y. 2021-2022
This course discusses the general knowledge of transportation, its role in tourism,
planning, logistics and policies. The content includes transportation systems, various aspects of
tourism-related forms of transportation, modes of transportation, transportation operation
including concepts and methods of analysis, infrastructure, and geographical and legal factors
relating to local and international transportation.
Topics include discussions of surface, air and water transportation; organization,
operations and regulatory and marketing aspects; examination of the inter-model concept; and
the social, economic, and political factors that have influenced government transportation
priorities..
Course Outcomes
CO1: Exhibit their abilities relevant to travel, transportation and tourism industry through hands-
on practices.
CO2: Demonstrate how transportation system works and realize the importance of transportation
in the daily operation of tourism industry.
CO3: Engaged in seminars, training's and immersions in furthering their knowledge on tour,
transportation and travel operations theories.
CO4: Obtained various knowledge and skills needed for future careers in the travel, transportation
and tourism industry and improved their decision-making abilities based on business ethical standards.
CO5: Demonstrated leadership through group engagement activities.
