Beef & Swine Prospect Show at Clewiston Fairgrounds

Clewiston Christian FFA Prospect Show Rules & Regulations Showmanship ● Ages are determined as of Sep.
1, 2021 Juniors 8-11, Intermediate 12-14, Senior 15-18, Collegiate 19-21. ● Exhibitor is responsible to be
ringside and ready to enter the ring when called. No late entry to the ring will be allowed. All Exhibitors ●
Market animals (steers & swine) will be shown by weight. ● Breeding animals (heifers, Brah/Brah Influence
females and bulls) will be shown by age. ● All Animals will show off of trailer. ● The fairgrounds’ arena will
only be for showing. You may groom by your trailer if desired. Those called back may tie in the area behind
the announcer’s stage for convenience. Please be courteous to others in terms of how long you leave your ani-
mal there. No water for grooming will be permitted. ● Bring your own generator for power if grooming by
your trailer. ● Please come to the registration table before unloading your animal to ensure all paperwork is in
order. ○ Recent bill of health ○ Release form, signed by parent and exhibitor ○ Registration form, completed ○
Entry fees paid ● Animals must be domesticated and not present possible risk to other exhibitors. We reserve
the right to deny an animal based on disposition; no appeals will be considered. ● Your animal’s disposition
will be initially judged on its approach to the scales. ● Your Exhibitor Number should be worn in the ring at
all times. ● Exhibitor is responsible for being ringside and ready to enter the ring, with their animal, when
called by the lineup coordinator. Once the gate closes, they will not be considered with the rest of their class. ●
You must clean up your area before leaving ● Please follow all CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19 ●
Masks not required but suggested when in a crowd.

SOUTH REGION 4-H TAILGATE COMPEITION

Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the LaBelle Rodeo Grounds, was the place to be to watch youth compete in the South
Region 4-H Tailgate Competition. The South Region is composed of Broward, Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades,
Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Indian River, Lee, Martin, Miami Dade, Monroe, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, and St. Lucie
counties as well as the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Twenty youth competed in the event grilling delicious beef, pork,
poultry and seafood on a charcoal grill. These youth were judged on their grilling technique, food safety and protein
knowledge as well as sensory. All participants received a Winn Dixie Gift Card as well as a Sonny’s Gift Card. First
through fourth place received monetary awards in the amounts of $400, $250, $100, and $50 respectively with first
and second place winners in each of the four divisions invited to compete in the state competition for an opportunity
to win $1,500 and $1,000 college scholarships. This event was sponsored by Sonny’s BBQ, Winn-Dixie and National
Beef. Congratulations to all winners!
