1. KFC’s logo
It is a combination of brand name KFC, symbol, and design. With the main red color and
the image of Colonel Harland Sanders always smiling, it will create better effects and
feelings for customers, making their mood always happy when enjoying the KFC's food.
Besides, KFC's logo is also a combination of public communication (PR) and personal
relationship through the design and addition the image of Harland Sanders in the logo
combined with the brand name KFC as a brand representative. The fact that KFC included
the image of Harland Sanders in the logo not only because he was the founder of the KFC
brand, but also because he was the first to create a deep-fried chicken and fried chicken in
a pressure cooker, through which KFC wanted affirms that the business has always been a
leader in the fast-food industry, especially in fried chicken.
2. Burger King’s logo
Burger King's logo is a combination of the brand name and design which has a circular
shape like a hamburger. The highlight of its is a blue C design surrounding to show
confidence in representing globally that customers easily find Burger King's stores
wherever they come. The Burger King brand name is designed in a modern red font,
enlarged, and placed between two yellow hamburgers diagonally, thereby making it easy
for customers to remind delicious hamburgers and arouse the feeling of wanting to try
immediately. Besides, the combination of blue, yellow, and red colors brings a modern and
youthful feeling, attracting customers of all ages and arousing appetites. In addition, on the
logo, there is also a small R which is a copyright symbol, showing that has been
recognized for intellectual property rights and protected by trademarks.
3. NASA’s logo
This is a combination of the brand name NASA (short for National Aeronautics and Space
Administration), sign & letters, and design. The NASA logo has a simple design based on
a modern word that we now know as "The Worm", because of its zigzag shape. The use of
red in the logo represents NASA's passion, energy, courage, confidence, and the challenges
that NASA is facing in aerospace research. The logo uses thick lettering to create a sense
of security, reminiscent of conical rockets by omitting the horizontal bar of the two A's,
this is the focus of the document called "Standard Guide to Graphics" by NASA.
4. Apple’s logo
This is a combination of symbol and design. With the dominant black color, the Apple
logo evokes mystery, arouses curiosity, and wants to discover for customers. The fact that
the apple has a bite is explained very simply by Rob Janoff who was Apple's logo designer,
which is to distinguish it from the cherry. Later, this half-bite had the added meaning of
imperfection, symbolizing the relentless desire to know and the ambition to continuously
innovate to reach perfection in products from Apple. This can also be seen as Apple's
commitment to always listening to customers' opinions.
5. Google’s logo
The Google logo is a combination of the brand name Google, term, letters, and the stylized
design of the text with a combination of blue, red, yellow, and green, this implies that
google can change to meet the needs of customers but still retain its core identities. The
font of the logo shows the modernity, simplicity but personality, bringing excitement and
creativity through only letters without being constrained by too cumbersome and confusing
symbols. Besides, bright colors cater to the global cultural diversity and have a kind of
unifying power, and it adds an optimistic and vigorous feel to the logo design. About the
term, the name “Google” is a derivative from “Googol”, which is a large number, this
implies that its mission gathering a huge amount of information on the Internet.
