Career Choices:
Entrepreneur
Teacher
A teacher’s work is not just simply imparting knowledge to its students but also to show care
and love to them as a second parent. As a teacher, you have to wake up early for morning classes, make
lesson plans, check or monitor students’ performances, and the hardest part I guess is balancing time
between family and work. They say that teachers do not earn a lot and maybe right now you are
wondering why I like this career despite of poor compensation. I feel like taking this career would give
me a greater purpose in life and I know that this work will always be enjoyable for me because I’m
thinking that every day I am changing someone’s life through educating them.
Financial Manager
A financial manager is the one who handles and manages the finances, especially the budget, of
the company or business. The financial manager decides how much money is needed and when, how
best to use the available funds, and how to get the required financing. The financial manager’s
responsibilities include financial planning, investing (spending money), and financing (raising money). I
will enjoy this kind of job despite of the difficulty with its responsibility because I am very particular with
regards to having decision related to money.
2. Monthly Income:
Entrepreneur:
Entrepreneur’s average monthly income is P25, 736 according to ph.indeed.com. This amount
however varies depending on the income generated per month. Basically, it may increase or decrease
depending on the net income of the business. We will use the average because income of entrepreneurs
varies depending on the profitability of the business.
Teacher:
Assuming that you are just a newly licensed public teacher and your position is Teacher 1, you
will have monthly salary of P19, 600 but it is subject to a lot of deductions which are allotted to
employee’s benefits. If however, you are a private school teacher, your average salary usually around
P11, 400 and this compensation are subject to lesser deductions compared to those who are in public.
Financial Manager:
According to salaryexplorer.com, a financial manager salary in Philippines ranges from 41,300 PHP per
month (minimum salary) to 143,000 PHP per month (maximum salary). Since everyone in the corporate
office must start at the lowest position, so I think it will be more realistic if we will used the minimum
salary, assuming that you are only starting with the job.
3. Budget Plan
Note: Expenses which changes or varies are only estimated and those expenses related to SSS,
Philhealth, and Pag-ibig are computed base on stated rate provided by law.
